  1. Do you mean at P2, shaft parallel in backswing you are already shifting back toward the target?
  2. I just noticed today that the app notifies you swing by swing when you set a record at each weight with a fake applause.
  3. Interesting to see your session 8 weights are significantly different than mine. Lots of customization happening within the app already it seems.
  4. Did the red line include a modifier for the wind or was that the base Decade target? I'm only on month 2 and haven't seen all the course map details, what are all the small red squares for around the green?
  5. Up and down session last night with some new programming of 2 sets at light weights. Broke PB by 3 MPH at 80g and saw a large jump at 75g while using a new swing thought focussed on tempo. Unfortunately, it didn’t carry over to the driver benchmarking weight at 195g. After the stack protocol I did however make two swings with driver (no ball) and hit 110 on the radar both times which was a new top speed. Maybe I should get one of those Cobra FMax ultralight drivers.
  6. Play what will give you most enjoyment. Lots of people think hitting driver and then wedge is "boring" on a par 4 or needing to hit less than driver off the tee as if they are not getting their money's worth. I have buddies who want to play 6500+ because they can hit driver far in the 15-25 handicap range and barely break 90 from 6000-6300. It's not enjoyable for me to go play 6700 and shoot 100.
  7. You've got an uphill battle when the par 5s default to bogey holes as opposed to birdie opportunities or safe pars. Scratch players average 3 strokes to get down from 90 yards out in the fairway. You need to be well inside that on par 4s and 5s to have a chance at pars. So any par 4's over 400 and par 5s over 540 become bogey holes which leaves little rooms for error to shoot 79.
  8. Back on the gains train. Had driver going 107-108 on the radar with no ball after this session. Hoping I’m faster for the Titleist demo day at the end of May than the Callaway demo (95 mph). Going to take the recommendations from both of those sessions and do a driver fitting at the end of this season to compare with the releases from Ping and Cobra.
  9. Anything I've ever read is max 2 MPH per inch increase, average 1-1.5 MPH and minimal for gain for some people. You would need to go to 46" or beyond to get anywhere close to 5.
  10. One aspect of the Stack protocols I like compared to Superspeed is having a larger number of "normal" swings that mimic the actual golf swing but lower total volume. This gives additional chances to experiment with different "feels" or movements and how that impacts swing speed. For example: narrowing my stance, amount of foot flare, loose wrists, "waiting" for a full wrist hinge, and squatting at the top in transition (followed by pressing the lead leg up coming into the ball). I've slowly added pieces over my first six sessions which seem to carry over to the course well. Shot Scope had me at -2.65 SG OTT last round and down nearly 1 full shot in 2021 compared to 2020 (3.91). I think SuperSpeed accomplishes some of this through the various swings their system employs, especially when it comes to lower body utilization. But, the feels on the step change swings or two-step is not something you can copy over to the golf course. I still hate the threads on the Stack end cap and drop it multiple times per session which is my biggest gripe with the product. I change weights at a table so the cap isn't bouncing around on the ground. I could easily cross thread it once or twice each session putting it back together even when starting it counter clockwise to get the threads to engage. I want to work through the Foundations program ASAP to see what program the algorithm spits out next and see how that compares to other users. Definitely an engaging system.
  11. Pretty sure it is just a ratio of length between the stack club and length of your driver. My driver was entered at 45.25" I like that the App now shows your max speed at each weight during the session to give you a target to beat. Another nice to have detail to keep intention high with each set of swings.
  12. 5mph is a realistic minimum speed below your max at any given time based on: warm up, temperature, residual fatigue from golf, workouts, etc. And day to day variance of your swing and flexibility. You’re already fast, relatively speaking. Big gains will be a challenge. Seeing your SS numbers above highlights a nice benefit of the Stack app to log and average all this info by session as well. I would add 5 driver swings without a ball after each SS session and log those speeds. As well as 5 with a ball to get a better feel of potential max speed on the course.
  13. That AMG video has a lot of great nuggets of info, thanks for posting. I need to check out more of their stuff, seems well explained using practical drills without getting too technical. It's nice they measure all these positions and don't have the one size fits all approach and vary things based on body type/dimensions. Gankas has some good stuff about getting trail elbow level with trail shoulder at top of backswing as well as trail forearm matching spine angle. I get flat as well and did an experiment one day where I stepped on a tape measure with my lead foot and pulled it out with my hands through my backswing. Higher hand position at the top was 4-6" further from the "ball". That's a lot of extra hand path length to add speed on the downswing.
  14. Club Head speed x 2.6-2.7 = Max carry distance in yards PING engineering has posted material on this, I found 2.7 to be surprising. But you need to be hitting up on the for sure.
  15. I thought Scott was challenging Graham to $1000/hole not Colt LOL. Looks like Colt was a decent player as well, but likely easier money.
  16. Cobra lists the F9 as 45.25" without Arccos grips. That is what I entered in the App, but have never measured.
  17. I guess I’ve reached the end of the noobie gains phase... First plateau of sessions with equal speed. New set and rep splits today could have had an effect. Did a 5 ball set with driver after speed training: 250-230-250-240-250 (carry). Driver speed was between 99-101 which lines up well with today’s espeed. Contact was solid except for a high toe on the 230 shot.
  18. Funny enough, Scott's partner Lou just posted data on this... PGA tour players average 3 shots to get down from 160 in the fairway. For a scratch player, it is 90 yards in the fairway. Unless you are a + handicap, the pars from 150 will always be a frustration. At worst, I would split the distance (90/150) and amend that distance to 120 instead of 150 and enter it into the app that way. It seems a bit counter to "expectations" and I feel that is a stat geared towards elite players that use the app versus rec golfers.
  19. How many times have you played this course? Do you have scores you can reference from playing the hole each way (driver vs layup) and how many times you successfully reached in 2? Playing a cut with left to right wind, it comes down to your comfort level aiming left of the cart path as well as how well/straight you are hitting driver that day would figure into the equation. I'm not sure how often you hit driver over 300, but are you comfortable hitting a 250 club into that green with sand left and water right/back? Personally, I would hit something that can't reach the sand, favoring the left side and try to roll it up near the front of the green as your landing area on that shot is approx. 30 yards wide. Is that still doable hitting less than driver? What cnosil mentions is correct, you should be measuring between the hazards unless any ball is 80-100% dead left of cart path. If that is the case, hitting driver into a 35 yard window isn't the play.
  20. I use google maps, if you right click on the map a menu comes up with "Measure Distance". At least on Windows OS...
  21. What is the item name at yourautotrim? It doesn't mention Camry, there is 1 item called "Speaker Box / Automotive Trunklining Carpet". Thinking of recreating a 26' Wellputt mat for $50 instead of paying $460 for a new one.
  22. The free membership only accesses 1 month of content, additional videos will not unlock. The Practical Golf website is running a promo where 6 months of DECADE foundations is $75 instead of $99.
  23. 100% - you can't score if you can't get it on or near the green in reg. My two 18 hole rounds this year: 84 - 9 GIR, 29% FWY, 34 putts (4x 3 putts), 0 penalties 90 - 2 GIR, 67% FWY, 32 putts (0x 3 putts), 3 penalties
  24. 31 putts in general is a good number and isn’t what’s holding you back. Sub 30 putts per round is not the norm unless you are hitting 5 GIR or less and have a good short game.
