Don’t have a hip-hop-spin back story like @Nunfa0 just reported.  But did want to provide some info on yesterday’s exercise - got to do bunker work at the local course…worked with the Indi 54 & 58 w/comparable CBX’s…..the Indi’s led the way in distance control out the sand and proximity.  More to follow…

Ok I'm going to test INDI on my recent order. In addition to the 54* and 60* being left hand orientation, I opted not only for the F3 recoils as mentioned earlier, but also MCC+4's Midsize with 3 wraps of tape + delayed shipping til the 25th. Phew - that'll test any customer service dept. 😁
EDIT: On the order confirmation, I saw that I had made a mistake. A quick call to them - yes a real person answered the phone and they corrected the order. That's one big plus!

Unfortunately I don't have all the data to compare,  (no launch monitor in my garage, actually no garage 😳) but I have found the the dispersion on these is very good so far.
I do have one story to tell, the par 3 12th at my home club is around 110 yards long and has a bowl green so you can't  see your ball once it lands.
The last time I played it, it was late in the afternoon, cool conditions with a slight headwind. The tees were up so it was playing maybe 100 yards. I decided to give the 52* a go even though I didn't think I could get there. I made a good swing and solid contact. The shot flew with a baby draw and landed about 3 feet short and 8 feet to the left of the flag. My friend hit his shot up by the flag as well and we wandered to the green.
On the green there were two balls, one on the line of mine about two feet past and 4 feet to the left and the other was 5 feet short and 15 feet to the right. I was thinking that my ball had taken one hop and stopped after pitching on a down slope. I was feeling quite impressed until I realised it wasn't my ball. My shot had landed hopped forward and then ripped back and to the right. My friends shot had pitched and rolled forward by about 8 feet. His ended up closer but without the drama and cool factor of spin.
We were both using Pro V1x balls and he hit a soft 50*. He has new Volkey SM9s, a faster swing speed than me and normally generates more spin than me.
I call that hole a clear win for Indi 😁😁

Good point, and that is why I have two sets of wedges I have the Indi's going up against...my old CBX's that are more like 3 to 4 yrs old, well played and I want to verify how much spin is lost when using older wedges.   Similarly I had just updated to CBX Zipcores in 56 and 60 coupled with a rarely played CBX2 in 52.  I want to get to a launch monitor session to see how each compares.  Today on the course (with all three sets in tow - I could see some "evidence" of better spin with the new Indi's as well as the CBX Zips over the older CBX's.  Of course that was on just punched, sanded and rolled greens.  Not much room for spinning backwards there....

Sorry for the delay in posting the comparisons from the launch monitor session. It's been surprisingly annoying having to break out old math books to remember how to do covariance matrix and eigenvalue calculations just to create confidence ellipses. To summarize the session, here's a few graphs comparing the PXG wedges to the Indi wedges at targets of 60 yards and 75 yards.

Short summary for these targets at least. The Indi wedges had a tighter dispersion and a tendency to be slightly left of the target while the PXG tended with more shots right of target. I'll probably need to schedule another launch monitor session to get more spin numbers once the clubs are comparable in spec, but based on what was collected so far, I'm seeing 1 degree lower launch on the 50 degree, and 4 degrees lower launch on the 58 degree. Spin is averaging 800-1000 more for the Indi wedges. Caveat, of course, being that my PXG wedges are a year old, and I'm not delivering the club the same way due to the spec differences. I don't know about the other tests, but I honestly can't feel any significant difference between the forged PXG and the cast Indi. Essentially the same KBS shaft in both and the only real difference I can tell is the audible difference at contact. The PXG does have a slightly more muted sound compared to a little more of a click with the Indi.

Date 08/07/2023 Course Name TPC Toronto - Hoot course Gross Score 71 Course Handicap 5 Gross Strokes over/under par -1 Net Score to Par -6 Net Score 66 Net Birdies or better 5 Longest Drive 243 Had an unbelievable round. Three birdies and an eagle on the front nine and -4 at the turn. My wife was also playing lights out, 4 over at the turn. Then I thought, wow, how low can I go. Big mistake, as reality and karma hit me in the side of the head and was 3 over on the back nine. Overall, broke par and finished at 1 under, so very pleased.  Even better my wife, tied her best score at 85.

Congrats to those picked for this test - love seeing less “known” brands literally throwing their clubs in the ring.  Would have loved to see how these compare to my old SLDR irons, but alas will have to live vicariously thru the reports of the testers….swing away folks, swing away!

Interesting you note this about the 56*, while I don't have data like you have presented to correlate my own experience. I can relate that the strongest wedge play I have is with a 54* or 56* wedge.  My "old" CBX 54* was my greenside (50yds in) workhorse.  The Indi 54* in my set is showing the same promise with better accuracy.  I tend to let the LW (58* in this set) reside for special up and down, short sided shots.  Good info being shared for sure!

Digging a bit further into the numbers from first time on course in terms of SG approach and short game versus a 5 index (-1.49 SG short game on season😞
Indi 52 - SG total= -0.45      (a fatted fairway bunker shot accounted for -0.63 of this total)
Eliminating the 1 fairway bunker shot was SG total of +0.18 on 3 approach shots of 105 yards (+0.06/shot)
50-100 yard approaches are my weakest distance, followed by 100-150 yards on the season where I lose strokes relative to a 5 index vs gaining strokes from 150+. I feel these wedges could drive improvement in this area.
    Indi 56 - SG total = 1.91 (12 shots, +0.16 SG/shot)
    2 greenside sand shots --> -0.02 total (-0.01/shot), rest of season = -0.71/shot
No need to use 60* in this round and I'm still scared to use other than short sided due to the wide sole. As part of this testing I may reconsider my bag setup to end at 56 given the success I am having with that club and the ability to open the face more with the narrow sole. The numbers above come after 2 practice sessions and the first time on a course I have not played in 2 years. I usually putt from the fringe, but the grass was longer than most fairways and 2-3 yards wide in many areas. After leaving 2 putts woefully short, I pivoted to chipping with 56 and gained 2.05 strokes over 3 shots on the back 9.
If these wedges can continue to boost the weakest aspect of my game (short game <50 yards) and weakest approach distances with full and partial wedges, I expect to see some low scores when the rest of my ball striking reverts to the mean.

Maybe I should have been more clear….what I meant is that like you use a golf tee to repair a divot, you can do the same with the Indi divot tool….apologies for the confusion….

Congrats to those chosen.  Will be great to hear how these irons perform, have always had a soft spot for MacGregor (the old Mike Souchak irons still have a place in the stable) - let’s see how the crew compares old school to new!

Interesting that you say that about swing path and delivery…maybe “for me” the clubs are so balanced they “feel” lighter.  As I told my son these wedges are very accurate in terms of lines to the target. Very few pushes or pulls.  Distance control is coming around, all based on work in the backyard with the 10 to 30 yd shots.  Even hit some this morning between rain showers….best swing so far….from 15yds, hit a slam dunk into the cup with the 58! (Sadly no video or spectators to verify).
