  1. I worked a bit on my putting yesterday indoors using a metal ruler to roll the ball on. It's a great tool/drill to do for feedback on whether you are striking the ball square and starting it online. I was using my perfect practice matt along with it. The reason I use the ruler is that there is no room for error if you push or pull the putt. You will recognize the direction right away. I will try to get some video of it today.
  2. I hear those are pretty good... but I'll suffer for now with my SM8's that are in my bag.
  3. Custom ordered a set of ping glide 3.0 wedges in 52/56/60 in the SS grind. Going to be a long couple months till they show up!
  4. Found this on the bay... I had one back in my high school days. I remember the first time I used it, was the 2nd round in a tournament after having a terrible putting day. 1st hole I drained a 30 footer.
  5. I found mine used with the Ventus 6x, showed up in like new condition for a few hundred less than new. The ventus is not a cheap upgrade new!
  6. Went for a lesson a week or so ago, with a quick change to my swing I was picking up yardage and better dispersion with the same swing speed. We both agreed that I hit the TSi3 better than the SIM (although not the same shaft). The consistency I had with the TSi3 was excellent so the Titleist will be the gamer for 2021. Plus I absolutely love the looks of the TSi3.
  7. Up for sale is a SIM 10.5 degree head only. It was used only a few times on a simulator. It’s in excellent condition, the top of the driver is mint without any nicks etc. and the bottom shows minimal wear from normal use. Head cover is included. price is $old
  8. When you shop at Apple do they make you pay for the credit card fees?
  9. I have the PP putting mat and enjoy it and think it can be a valuable tool. I worked a lot on my putting during the initial Covid shutdown and my putting was one of my strongest parts of my game this past year.
  10. The updates to the pro v1 is mostly marketing, and how the profiles of the two balls vary from year to year are described and even sometimes swap between the two models. If you look at data, like the test that TXG did between the pro v1 and X, the balls are nearly identical. The difference in spin and launch is nearly identical, so it comes down to feel and the thoughts one has about the two balls before picking which one to play.
  11. Well, I don't struggle off the tee, I struggle with my driver. I can hit my 3w 245-250 carry, and at my home course as well as other courses I play in the area I don't need a driver, which is why I took it out of the bag midsummer cause sooner or later I was probably going to snap it in half, so instead I sold it on a forum. For example at my home course that has 3 par 5's, two of them I need driver to hit the green in two, the other one I can hit 3w and a long iron into the green. Every other hole on the course I can hit a 3w or a long iron off the tee and be hitting a short to mid iron into the green. In most cases a driver puts me in a position I don't want to be, hitting a less than full shot with a wedge. So I have learned to manage my game to play with what I have, but it holds me back in being able to attack certain holes where players who can hit a wedge close to the pin take advantage of their distance. Instead of leaving myself a 100 yard wedge shot, I'd rather be hitting my 9 iron into the green from 150. And it is misery cause although maybe half my scores may be very good, I have plenty of bad rounds with multiple double or triple bogeys. And I'm still nowhere near as good as I was when I was a teen. I was fortunate to have some great opportunities at a young age and was able to work with some excellent coaches and practice alongside with some amazing players on a daily basis. But it's made my expectations high regardless of how long ago that was, because I know I'm capable of a higher level of play as I have done it before. It's extremely frustrating because I know one part of my game, short game, holds me back so much. I can be playing with someone who could be a 10 handicap, and I'll out score them but they honestly have a better short game than me. I really don't care about a driver in the bag, it's not something that will have a huge impact on my scoring, but it is fun to rip drivers and it will be the easier thing to fix for my game in 2021. My short game is like a 20 handicap and I'm going to have to spend hours and hours working on it and building confidence to the point I can trust in my ability to hit the shots when they matter.
  12. I was very fortunate to be introduced to the game at a very young age. But it’s never to late to join the fun.
  13. The last time I had any sort of lesson/instruction from a teaching professional was back in 2006, my senior year in highschool. The large window from then till now is that I basically stopped playing the game until mid summer of 2019. I went and played with my parents and was instantly hooked on the game again. With this season over I really started to analyze my game and knew whatever new clubs I purchased etc., nothing was going to fix the downfalls of my game without a lesson. Anything inside of 100 yards is the danger zone for me and it puts such demand on the other parts of my game, and it requires me to navigate the course tip toeing around to make sure I don't leave myself a shot I know I can't execute. And the other area I struggled with was my driver, to the point that I took it out of my bag and played with just a 3w for the majority of the season. Now to my first lesson in a long long time! It was a rather informal lesson, as I know this teaching pro outside of golf. He knew I was testing some drivers out and said, come by one day and you can hit them on the launch monitor and we can see what's going on. This was after I told him I had went to a local indoor simulator, I shared the data and he knew I could be hitting both drivers further based on my swing speed. So after warming up I started hitting some 7 irons. The best thing about this lesson was that he not only had a QCquad launch monitor, but he also had a swing catalyst sensor plate, which measures the pressure through your feet during the swing. This was a great tool not only for him to understand what I was doing, but it also allowed me to understand what he was saying as he could show me through the data. Comparing the initial swings to the swings after trying a few drills and seeing the difference in results through the data showed we were moving in the right direction. First we worked on slowing my transition at the top and firing my chest through impact, as I was staying down too long through the shot. This was more of just working on the feeling of my chest rotating fully through the swing. Immediately we saw more torque, measured through the swing catalyst, my swing speed went up to 96-97 mph and my carry climbed to 182-183. As I kept on hitting 7 irons the feeling was still awkward but it was something I could feel and repeat over and over. The best part of the results was not just the increase in distance but also accuracy as the first 5 shots were nearly identical, straight as can be. Some of the best feeling strikes in my life. It was like effortless power at impact. Pitch shots was next! My swing gets narrow at the top and I create a lot of lag and load, sergio like, and in my short game this kills me as I attack the ball at a very steep angle and basically render any bounce on the club useless, and I have full wedge grinds with 14* of bounce which do nothing for me. We started hitting some half swing shots and he wanted me to feel like I was releasing the club extremely early. And then we also worked on hitting right hand only shots. It was amazing how good impact was with just my right hand. The main feeling was that everything was slowed down and smooth. It also made me rotate my body through the shot and finish in a much better position, with the club handle to left of me and the face of the club pointing back at me. The feeling of the club using the bounce to glide instead of jabbing at the impact zone was noticed immediately. The driver was the last thing we worked on. With the amount of lag I create and the quick transition the club gets stuck behind me and I leave the face open, resulting in a weak impact position blocking the ball out to the right, or i try to correct it by getting flippy with my hands resulting in a hook. We tried to stay with similar feelings of my irons, a slow transition, and rotating my chest. We also worked on depth in my back swing keeping my hands wider with a sense of less hinge, although there was still plenty of it. It was amazing how on camera the change is not as drastic as it feels. At impact the club and my left forearm were much straighter, my angle of attack was shallower, my swing speed stayed the same, but i was hitting the ball further and consistently straighter. Instead of a slight fade the ball was falling to left, carrying about 285. I hope this write up isn't too long, but I wanted to share my experience. As I love new clubs like most on this forum, there is no better way to get the most out today's technology than working with a professional to get you swinging at your best.
  14. If I could actually get my bag set for 2021 I could be up to this challenge. The first challenge is deciding on SIM vs TSi3, and dropping the 56/60 for a 58 and adding a fairway wood between my 4w and 3i. Experimenting and trying new clubs is too much fun, and it's how I came across my favorite club I have in the bag right now, my 16.5 TS2.
  15. I finally received my TSi3 Christmas Eve, after being in limbo for 3 weeks with USPS, and was able to put it head to head against my Sim. Living in NJ golf season is about 3.5-4 months out so I decided to check out a local indoor simulator. This was my first time using a trackman/simulator not at a club fitting, and what a blast I had. Driver specs is, TSi3 10 w/ventus black 6x, 45", standard settings. My first impressions are that the club loooks and sounds so sweet (I was able to hit a few shots outside and the sound is so pure). Since I haven't played in about a month I removed a few outlier shots, and my data came back at 114.7 club speed, -1.5 attack angle, 166.5 ball speed, 3589 spin, 286.3 total, 272.3 carry, 1.7 ft left, face to path 0, club path 0, smash 1.45. There were a few other shots that were not the best struck either but I only removed outliers which were really far left or right. My best shots were ball speed around 169, spin at 3100, and carry at 280+ with roll at 300+. In comparison to my SIM with a 661 evo 2.0 (DJ shaft), which plays at 45.5", the numbers were very similar. I'm going to be doing some more testing and I have another 661 evo 2.0 shaft that I'm going to get a Titleist tip put on it so I can get a closer comparison between the 2 drivers and to compare the Ventus to the 661 in the same head. I'm going to write up an unofficial post on my quest for my 2021 driver, which will include all the trackman data etc. I also had an Atmos TS 7x black that I tried today in the SIM and that was the weakest combo of the 3 in terms of distance, but I loved the stability and control I had with it. As of right now it's going to be a close battle, but if ti was based on looks alone, the TSi would win! edit: the main thing I took away from this session was that I need to get my spin rate down!!!
  16. Thinking of trying a new edge setup. Definitely need a different grind for my lob wedge. Or maybe go from a 52/56/60 to 53/58 setup. Looking at maybe picking up a ping glide 3.0 WS to see how I get along with that grind. Something with a bit more bounce and forgiveness than my low bounce k grind vokey lob wedge.
  17. Looking for a ping glide 3.0 58 WS head only or with shaft. In very good to like new condition.
  18. From what I can see the average sale price on ebay is $5800 across 3 sets that have been sold, two of them were sold before the irons were in the hand of the sellers. They aren't exactly selling like hot cakes on ebay, and how many buyers out there are willing to pay astronomical price for a set of irons that they really can't use, and it's not like they are the irons tiger played with. Put the item up for auction starting at $0.99 and we can really see what the value is of the irons currently, as of today. Something is only worth what someone will pay for it, there are plenty of sets up on ebay for sale, and one at auction for $4500 with zero bids and 1 day left. I'm not saying these sets for sale at $6000+ will never sell but there is little demand for them at that price.
  19. I can offer what you paid for them, plus shipping! I'd maybe offer a bit more if they were +1/2" long so I could use them.
  20. One shot at a time, stay in the moment as that’s what you have control over. Forget about the past shots wether good or bad and don’t think about the future because you have no control over either. Nerves are normal, but focus on what’s in front of you at that time and the nerves will be manageable. Practicing and preparing are very important, along with having a pre-shot routine that you repeat every time. And then trust in yourself and have fun!
  21. The way the post office is run is horrible and they should probably be paying more to their staff and increase the cost of stamps. I get a package weighs more than a letter, but $0.55 is not enough for a single letter to cross country. Also, I wouldn't mind paying more if the workers were a bit more friendly. When I moved into my house there was a temporary mailbox sitting on the edge of my driveway wall/steps halfway between the street and my front door. After we finished fixing up the house and moved in we put a mailbox by our front door, like 99% of the neighbors on my street have. The mail person at the time who was a fill-in, due to our regular mailman being out sick, yelled at us from the road that she isn't delivering our mail to us because we aren't allowed to move the mailbox from its current position, further from the road. So for the last 3 years we have a mailbox sitting halfway up the walkway to our house, on the ground. I honestly wish I didn't even have a mailbox, aside from the holidays and birthdays, it just gets filled with junk that ends up in the trash.
  22. Amazon does a lot of their own shipping services now, at least in my area. So if anything that should help free things up a little this holiday season, but I think the issue is online shopping in general has skyrocketed due to COVID.
  23. Currently waiting on a TSi3 driver which was suppose to arrive yesterday, but now shows no update on it's where abouts other than it's on its way. Also waiting on a Sim head which was shipped over a week ago but showed a status update that it arrived att he post office it was shipped from. I'm very understanding that they are very busy, but I don't think that is the only issue. I had a new mailman a few weeks back, and he said to me, "I like doing it cause it's an easy job", meanwhile he mixed up me and my neighbors mail multiple times that week, which is why I approached him.
