  1. Recently took advantage of this amazing closeout deal on Bettinardi wedge. I had bought the 54 back when it was released and loved it. I have used the black 58 degree over the last 2 rounds and it has been CLUTCH. GREAT deal for a new wedge. $190 wedge for $80?!?! New still in wrapper? C'MON! Link below. https://maplehillgolf.com/bettinardi-hlx-3-0-black-wedge/
  2. What Player Will Have the Most Points: Jon Rahm What Player Will secure the Clinching Point on Sunday: Brooks Koepka
  3. Cam Smith has been my favorite since his second place finish at the Masters in 2020. He has such a chill personality, it's great. His win at the Open was stellar as well. Just fun to watch. Especially with a putter.
  4. Excited to learn more about these. Hadn't heard of them before but I love all these outsider brands trying to make something great!
  5. What are the odds the 2016 TaylorMade Spider OS CB gets a relaunch and starts selling for $500+? Man us golfers can be fickle creatures at times....
  6. This is awesome! What the Cut Number Will Be: +2 What the Highest Round of the Week Will Be: 82
  7. I rarely go to the range, I much prefer to play, especially now that I have a kid and my golfing time is limited. However, I recently went to the range with a friend and a large bucket was $12. I live in Minneapolis. The balls were TERRIBLE. It made me realize that might be the reason people experience wear on their clubs. I have been playing golf for years and never got much face damage on my clubs, but after one session with 15+year old public circular stones, I noticed several marks on all the clubs I used. I think I will continue in my range-averse ways...
  8. Great perspective Ricky! I agree, it is tough, but better to have the option and pursue than to throw the whole thing out because it isn't perfect.
  9. I have been disappointed several times with fittings, especially with drivers. On one occasion the best result was a draw bias because I had a swing issue that day. Now obviously, everyone says get your swing sorted out before you get fit, but you also don't choose when you don't have your A game and unfortunately, many fittings aren't free and there isn't much you can do about it. The other thing I have noticed is that the common time frame for a fitting is 1 hour and that hasn't been enough for me to try the combinations I'd like to. I suppose it's better than nothing. I worked at a golf store for 2 years and even did fittings, but my most recent driver purchase was without a fitting and it worked better than both drivers I was fit for. After a while, I feel like I know what is need (which flies in the face of traditional GET FIT messages). I think there is value in understanding the process. Now I just wish I had 2 hours and a launch monitor and I could do it myself without them trying to direct me to the latest brand with a sales rep promotion (yes that happens, i.e. sell 10 G425s and we'll give you one) or moving on to the next customer.
  10. Excited to see a face balanced blade option! A double bend on the Brandon is tempting. Out of my price range for now, but who knows? They all might be cut in half for Black Friday or something
  11. I will never listen myself, and I'm fine with relatively quiet music from playing partners, but it's annoying when I can hear someone else's music from 2 fairways over, just blasting it!
  12. I just watched the Final round of LIV London and was surprised by how entertaining it was. The first time I tried to watch a LIV event, the lack of fans destroyed my interest. This time, the place looked packed and the golf was really, really good. Seriously, I was actually surprised. The names definitely help compared to the field at the John Deere too...
  13. Man I was excited to get a look at these! I look forward to hearing about your experience, especially comparisons!
  14. That's awesome news! I ended up getting the Rogue ST last year and it might be my favorite Driver ever. Hopefully nothing happens to it, but then again, I wont mind if something does....
  15. I have been struggling in the golf polo category. I feel like I fell for the "loud pattern, stretchy shirt" trend and now there are 20+ brands (literally) showing up on my social media feed offering the same ones! Glad to check out some other options though, since I'm not really a $100/shirt kind of guy.
  16. Anyone else surprised by the performance of the Wilson Staff Model? I have really wanted to try them out but am wary of the spin off the tee. I recently switched to the Titleist Tour Speed and shot a PB 76 and it felt super straight! Must have been lower spin! But then I returned to my home course and couldnt hold a single green! IS there any realistic way to reduce spin using driver/shaft combo? Or is the best bet to find something in the middle?
  17. Thanks for the thoughts! At this point I would say I like the sweet/grain tastes more! I feel like they might be more "entry-level" flavors since Scotch is commonly held as a harsher spirit (though I understand it is versatile). I'd appreciate any recos in that profile!
  18. Sheesh that sold fast! Looking at it now....does not surprise me! Congrats to the lucky new owner!
  19. Ok so I have been I fan of Scotland for as long as I can remember. All my favorite bands are from there and I used to work for an agency based in Edinburgh, even made it out to St. Andrews on one business trip! BUT I am a real NOOB when it comes to scotch. Any seasoned vets have a path they can send me down to reefyne me auld pawllaht and begin my journey to glory? Looking for introductory recommendations! Cheers!
  20. Beautiful! I was looking to see if anyone else had been here. Here's a pic I took of 13. Beautiful course.
  21. I was also going to point out that you might want to try out the Titleist Tour Speed. That being said, I just played the best 9 holes of my life at the newer Arcadia Bluffs South Course in Michigan (look it up, it is beautiful) with the Tour Response and now I am considering playing it a bit more....
  22. Here it is! So concludes the journey of my warranty claim. Thank you all for following along. If you have one you're not sure about, it's definitely worth a shot!
  23. Great news everyone! Received a call from the golf shop that Callaway will be sending me a new Mavrik! Woo! What great customer service! Once the store receives the new one, they will send back my old one and I can choose if I want my current shaft or the one in the new club. LOVE IT. #STOKED #THATSHOWYOUKEEPCUSTOMERS #IWILLSTILLWANTTOGETTESTED #BUTIFITISATIECALLAWAYHASMYBACK
  24. Follow up for the few folks who wanted to know! I decided to take it into the local golf shop and have them send it in to Callaway to see what they say. I figured this was a way to avoid the fear that I be charged if the warranty was rejected. I will let you know what they say!
  25. Wow that's awesome! I guess I will give it a go then! I only fear is if they send me a new one and then I send them my old one, if they think that my old one did not deserve to be covered, would I then be charged the full price of a new driver?
