Lucky13th
Hi all, What better way than to jump in than starting a thread on my first project! Below is the first Ping putter I have recently bought and looking to restore. This is a Ping Myday! This is my first project with anything like this. So would really appreciate any help or information anyone can give with regards to the process I should use plus the best equipment. Here are some pictures below. Thanks in advance! #PutterProjx

Lucky13th
So I’ve finally got my hands on the Ping MyDay. Heres a quick update on where and what it currently looks like. Hopefully get the paint fill done soon along with the grip and then find it a new home! #PutterProjx
GBWarPig
What was your process on restoring these? I do limited restoration work on vintage razors, and wondering if it’s similar enough that I could do putters too. Then used a cleaning product to get some of the marks off. After letting that sit for a few mins wash this off. Following that, I used some fine scotch brite and rubbed it all over under running water. #PutterProjx
Lucky13th
So I’ve been very eager to get this prep’d before the arrival of the new grip. Below are the before and after pictures. Very very happy with how this has turned out! #PutterProjx
Lucky13th
Today was a good delivery day!! Got this Anser and Anser 3 through the post. May look to change the grips to new classic PINGMAN grips but not sure yet. #PutterProjx
Lucky13th
So I’ve been cleaning up the putters and was wondering what you guys would recommend to get in and clean the corners? I was thinking a dremel tool which I could then use to polish them a bit too #PutterProjx

Lucky13th
Here’s the finished job on the first Anser, love adding the touch of white on these as you don’t see many others doing this. Feel like it’s a nice unique touch. Heres the before and after: #PutterProjx
Lucky13th
Finally finished the Anser 3. The face had a lot of dings in. So what I’ve done is sand down the face to get it nice and smooth while still trying to keep the vintage look of the putter. Here’s how it looked before and now after:- #PutterProjx

Here’s how it looked before and now after:- Nothing against the job you did; cleanup looks good, but many Ping purists don’t think you should cleanup the patina look on these older models. Also, those clubs are typically light, how much weight did you lose sanding down the face? Although I do like them cleaned up just a bit - especially the pitting/scratches/dings on the face since those do effect performance when hitting the ball. Didn't think about the weight issue, though. Definitely something to consider as I look at potentially trying something like this. The face had to be cleaned up as it would have had a detrimental impact on the performance. as this was hand sanded, there was very little weight lost but will be countering this with weights #PutterProjx

I would bet 5ish grams.
