Haven’t tried yet. Standby for further testing.

Interesting design or concept with the Clicgear bag cover, but knowing that the Ghost bag is advertised as "weather resistant" and not fully promoted as fully waterproof, wouldn't a realistic expectation be that the possibility of some wetness is to be expected if played in steady or heavy rain conditions?

There seem to be fewer bag manufacturers who do offer a fully waterproof bag these days, and it would seem that the onus would be on the golfer who decides to play on in the rain, should also know the potential consequences of doing so.

Not making any excuses, just would hate to see any tester be highly critical of this, when it may be an expected result.

@rkj427 this bag is water resistant, yes.  Not sure anyone makes a waterproof bag anymore.  A design flaw on this bag makes it hold water where it shouldn’t.  Having to cover the bag in a rain cover isn’t a bad thing and players do that anyway, but at this price point one would think there wouldn’t be the leakage issue   Where the two valuables pockets be designed where water does not sit on top of the zippers and leak into said pockets, playing in the rain would not be that big of a problem.

A valuables pocket to me implies it would be more secure from elements,  not susceptible to damage to what's inside.

Had rain day #3 today, actually put the rain gear on the cart because I do push a cart and it can carry extra stuff whether it is needed or not.  Always have.

5th Fairway with approaching rain cloud.

The round started off in really nice autumn weather and the threat of rain did not appear until the 5th tee box.  Before then I made a note of the light audible sounds of the club heads tapping, yes they actually do tap, not as silent as I remembered in my last post about it, but definitely much MUCH quieter, shhhh, than I have ever heard club heads slap in other cart bags, and definitely hugely quieter than in carry bags.

I don't know why it is always at the furthest distance from the clubhouse and parking lot, but if it is going to rain at Caz it is usually when I am on the 5th fairway more often than any other place.  I saw the virga clouds, or curtains of rain descending from the clouds, so with my second shot lying just past a big Maple tree I moved behind the big trunk for the wind break and set up my rain gear.

Using a big tree to block the wind while setting up for rain seeing the rain against the dark trees on the far side of the fairway.

Tip for umbrella ties, tag the hook and loop fasteners together so they don't blow in the wind and make a nuisance of themselves.

This keeps the ties from dangling below the umbrella canopy.

I set up the DrizzleStik umbrella this time using the lower drink pocket for the bottom of the umbrella handle

and with the ball retriever in the front row right golf club sleeve, connected a tether/lanyard with bungee cord to the far side top grab handle and had far less movement from the little umbrella than ever before.  Clubs all stayed dry and much easier to access as well.

The top of the DrizzleStik tamed by attachment to the top grab handle opposite the side it is on.

The rain went off after the 5th green and the main umbrella came down on the 7th tee box, dry enough to furl and put back on the cart bag umbrella holder and sleeve behind the left side pockets.  The rest of the rain gear was mostly dry by the 9th fairway and was stowed despite another rain storm approaching as I was heading to the vehicle anyway, and everything did stay dry, and the rain passed to the east of the course.

The next passing rain storm cloud.  Nice rainbow under that one after it passed.

I think it is great having a water resistant golf bag that when using appropriate wet weather gear, the chances of having the contents of the golf bag remain dry is assured.  There is no guarantee that everything will always stay dry unless golfing in weather that does not include rain.  I choose to golf in rain, prefer to golf in rain as it usually means fewer golfers out, more peaceful day on the course, and I am a gadget guy.  All of that leading to my childhood joy of being outside in the rain.

This Ghost Golf GT-14 Oreo Cart Bag makes it all the more enjoyable, and don't forget to take a break when the rain gets heavy, enjoy a good drink of fresh water or whatever you brought, and for this bag it's just right having an Oreo cookie.

View back across Cazenovia Creek looking back towards the 9th fairway towards the tee box.  A Mallard Duck actually flew under my feet as I was crossing a moment before taking this photo, bridge height above the creek at low level is about 20 feet.
