  1. I am personally a big fan of the Z Star XV and Snell MTB-X so those would be my suggestions. I also haven’t hit the most recent version of the BXS so if you’re looking to get rid of them, I am interested!
  2. WOW, thats a surprise on #3! Like you had said, none of the balls gave you #s that would scare you from gaming but if you had to pick one I thought you could make a good argument that the X LS was the best!
  3. Like others have stated, I feel like that its kind of hairsplitting and depends on your interpretation of DTC. I am okay with MGS classifying Maxfli as DTC if they are in the grey area- as long as they include their definition/criteria of DTC
  4. Pretty sure I got it now, #1 is the X LS and #3 is the Z Star
  5. I thought #1 was originally the CS X but I think that wasn't the case!
  6. As you said that your driver spin and launch/flight #s are most important, I vote ball #1. I don't think dispersion is all that different and likely due just to natural swing variation. Better spin numbers with the irons/wedges too, I think that #1 could hold a few more GIRs on approach shots depending on your play style. I'll come back for my final guesses for #1 and #3!
  7. Thought I was done looking at clubs before the spring but a deal caught my eye and I couldn’t say no. Perfect condition Tour Edge Exotics CBX 3 wood. Have heard people swear by Tour Edge and have been wanting to try them out for awhile. Have wanted to try the Project X Yellow shaft as well- two birds, one stone and the price was right!
  8. I would LOVE this, especially since there have been some updates to both in the past year or so
  9. I am curious about #3 and will wait for the driver data but I can't shake the feeling that #1 is the Chromesoft X, pretty spinny compared to the other two! Really fun idea, can't wait to see more!
  10. Thank you for all the great responses and ideas! May end up setting up a hitting bay with my brother in law in his garage and if that goes well we could get a launch monitor as well. Unfortunately, it looks as though the nearest indoor course sims or outdoor driving ranges is about an hour away but will likely set up a few day trips there!
  11. This is my first offseason after playing a ton this year and I am truly missing the game. It is going to be a long ~4 months- I have a indoor putting mat, can do some small chipping practice too. May look to take one trip down south this winter but what some of yall do during the winter to scratch the golf itch when courses close and snow is on the ground?
  12. The X LS was always an interesting option I had considered, this makes it that much more appealing!
  13. Add on to the Srixon DI comment- I follow a few people that cover the Korn Ferry Tour, one caddy said that his player's 2, 18* DI is his most valuable club. This player doesn't carry a wood and hits it 250 on non driver holes and much straighter than a wood. Probably not for everyone but thought it was worth noting
  14. I think this is a great place for most people to get some basic fitting info and starting place, I came across it as well a couple weeks ago and should have thought to share!
  15. Picked up a used SM8 as my current 54* is a SM7 I bought from CPO a year and a half ago on a whim (price was right) and is a half inch short and isn't the right grind for me. I had been waiting for one in good condition for a good price! Really excited to finally land one, had to comb through a lot of listings to find the right one!
  16. Are people playing at course where people are getting this drunk or high? In the last two years, I have only heard one groups music and have had no other issues with people drinking, smoking or other behavior. I am playing multiple local courses too. Is this a regional issue?
  17. I prefer to walk/push but have lately taken a cart as I have a newborn and it’s the way I am able to get the most amount of golf in while not driving my wife insane. Additionally a number of people golf with drive and I would otherwise lose out on part of a social aspect. Will likely walk more in the future, especially if I go during peak times and it doesn’t slow my pace of play to walk either. If it matters, I never smoke on the course and have 1-2 beers half the times I go out.
  18. Good luck to both of you with surgery and recovery!
  19. Really sorry to hear this, my grandmother is suffering from a type of Alzheimers/dementia right now and she has episodes that she appears to be a completely different person, only to forget they happened later. It is really hard and s***** thing to go through. I hope that everyone recovers and that tempers and tension cools.
  20. Just had a contractor come over and take some measurements for the decking quote, also had them take a look at the unfinished part of our basement that has the electrical, plumbing and studded for an extra bedroom, bathroom and closet. It would be pretty basic with a tub/shower, toilet, small vanity, laminate tile and the bedroom would just be sheet rocked, carpeted and add a closet. Composite decking they offer is TimberTech or another, slightly cheaper brand through Home Depot. Said that composite would be ~2.5x that of treated cedar. Will get the quote back for both in a couple weeks as they are pretty backed up and the project would happen in the spring or summer 2022. They do quality work as they did a neighbors deck (cedar) and another neighbors kitchen. Interested to see what their cost estimates will be on both. We are leaving the treated posts and joists, they are still in good condition- just deck boards and aluminum railings. Does anyone have experience with TimberTech or Home Depot composite decking, weighing how much I'm willing to pay to not have to worry about staining every year or two.
  21. Polishing off a gifted bottle, generous pour
  22. This is the best advice. In the grand scheme of things, he seems like the type that gets into golf because momma joined a CC and looking for instant gratification, realizes its hard and gives its up after a few rounds. Hopefully, this is one of a few times you ever have to go with him. If he ends up getting hooked, try to get him to get some lessons before you have to go out with him next year and maybe he will find some other guys to go with, Good luck with Frick or Frack! (You didn't specify which one you were playing with)
  23. That's good to hear that they are comparable to before, we are likely going to just replace the deck base boards and railing as that is whats weathered, the posts and joists are treated and still in good condition (we will have the contractor take a look though). Previous owners didn't stain the deck for a number of years and then when it started to weather, just kept slapping layer after layer of paint stain on as a band aid.
  24. Wild R&D went into this, its things like this and renowned quality why it will be hard for someone to overtake Titleist as the #1 ball maker. If all of there claims are true, this absolutely changes the shot tracking game
