ball striking today... brought the FS Mevo with me but of course, i needed a firmware update when i tried to use it...
so i went through the bag 7-10 shots per club...
then onto chips and flops shots with the 56* & 60* from 10 & 15 yds...
    and finished with some putting...
so overall, a pretty productive session...

started the session with some short chips (open face) 60* about 100 balls...
then i worked on my ball striking... with less shaft lean (as per instruction) and seemed to be hitting the ball much cleaner, more controlled, and higher... (accuracy being my goal this year)
and then finished off with some bunker work... about 75 balls worth...
couldn't work on any putting because they were aerating the greens today...

Been a bit since I've had a chance to hit a ball, but finally got up the range today to work on my driver. Had been incredibly consistent for so long, then after a back injury last year I've been hitting left pulls nonstop. Got my irons and wedges sorted, but the driver and 3w have still been a pain. Really slowed down my swing, and set my phone behind me and my tablet infront of me to record my swing, and just went through the motions ensuring I'm not leading the downswing with my arms first, or getting out of sync, and making sure I'm clearing my hips properly.

Mostly seemed to work, by the end of the bucket I was getting closer to my old pull fade again, finally starting to see the ball turning over again. Definitely a work in progress, but hopefully will start seeing the ball land in the correct fairway again soon

Been struggling a bit lately in general. Worked on slowing down my tempo and really focusing on my takeaway. Then did a drill where I was trying to hit a target line at 165 yards with 6 balls. Hit 4, and the swing felt good. Golf.

At the range yesterday I decided to try and play around with the weight sliders on the TM M5.
I've never had a driver with adjustable weight tracks, I went from an RBZ to a ST-190 both with 1 fixed weight at the back.
I was very surprised at not only how different the ball flights were, but the sound of the driver changed completely between settings.
With the weights all the way at the back and pushed out to the corners in it's most forgiving setting, the driver has a very appealing THWACK crunchy sound that I really really like.
I tried moving the weights right up close to the face in the middle of the track to put it in it's most unforgiving low spin setting, and oh boy did I ever hate that.
The driver not only felt worse, and produced undesirable and unpredictable ball flights, but it sounded awful.. very very tinny sounding.
I played around with a couple of other settings, but I found it to sound and feel it's best in the most forgiving setting.
I was genuinely surprised and how different the driver felt, worked, and sounded in different settings.

Just a light stay loose prep for the Kingsmill trip practice of few dry swings with the Orange Whips (compact, mid and full length) and a little basement putting (3, 5, 8 ft).

Went to the range this afternoon, no open bays and didn't look like there would be any before the range closed. So went to the putting green and tried lag putts with the DF 2.1 (still needs a lot of work). Then back to the hotel for a Rypstick workout. Averaged 89 mph at the end instead of 92, but for 89 to be somewhat disappointing represents huge progress. Gonna do a Fit For Golf either tonight or first thing in the AM, since I don't have to be at work until like 11. Might also go hit balls before work.

    Garage sesh.

50/60/70 yard shots. Same swing, different wedges. Just about at 60mph club head speed.

On to full swings with a focus on a wide takeaway and soft hands during the transition. I've started trying to control the head too much which leads to stiff wrists and loss of lag/speed.

Tonight I'll roll 50ish putts on the carpet just working on start line.

Back to the range tomorrow for short game. Golf is good.

Cleveland TA3, 3-PW (All irons 2 degrees strong), Tad Moore 53 bent to 51, Cleveland CG12 58 bent to 56.
I'm kinda proud of my Iron play, so it's gonna be a while before I change anything.
FWIW, I'm on the coast in N.E. Florida, and the wind blows pretty good here and high flying shots get blown all over Hell's half acre here. Irons just bore better.

About four months ago I was looking at buying a new bag but I really wasn't that serious about buying a new one. I went to my local Golf Mart Superstore in South San Francisco, CA (sorry for the little plug, I used to work there and still think they're great). Anyway, I was talking to the bag/shoe specialist there who immediately recommended the Ping Hoofer bag. Like I said, I wasn't sold on even buying a new bag at that point and hesitated. I waited about three months when I finally said enough is enough and went in for the bag. Once I gamed the bag, I don't know why I ever waited so long!
Bag preference is like putter preference but I really found I liked this one. It has ample pockets and I like how they put pockets in easy to reach places while you're carrying it. Too often in my old bags I would have to get into some crazy yoga pose just to get to my phone or water bottle. There are multiple, very easily reachable pockets that I can get to at any point.
The one con is the difficulty I've had getting my clubs out of my bag without at least one other club coming with it. I use mid-size and they are a little tacky which is probably the biggest problem. I am planning on going back to standard grips with much less tackiness (is that even a word) which should alleviate the issue.
In speaking with other people who own the same bag, they rave about it as well and definitely wouldn't go back to their old bag. If you're in the market, take a good look at the Ping Hoofer. I dropped a picture of my bag below!
