Yeah, I agree with the LIV comment. I think the majors should be held above everything, and if a player is considered to be amongst the best in the world then they should definitely be playing.
 

I know we've seen some knocks on low attendance at LIV events, but that doesn't seem to be an issue in Australia!

You just described the PGA Tour as well.  There is a boat load of players that simply fill out fields each week for the top talent and only occasionally get hot for a short stretch, and even fewer of them win.  Two years ago all these players mixed it up all season long, some were Ryder Cup players, yet because they joined Tour 54 some are saying they are no longer the same talent - I don't agree with that argument.
Now if LIV survives over the long term and no (or few) other mid career or younger talent from any of the world tours joins them then over time they will lose the ability to compete at the top 100 level. But that is not the case at present IMO.

to the  liv haters , you were correct-- they  can't play 18 holes -- they can't play with the best world ranked players --they
are too old , bk 's wheels did fall off  , jr did play a great game all 4 rounds .

after 42 years honda pulled the plug on the honda classic , i look for others to do the same on the non- elevated events , sort of like liv players losing sponsors , companies will always follow the money .

Today's PGA announcement makes this whole discussion even more interesting. Apparently no cut events aren't quite as important as previously argued and, having in essence created further division within the membership, might this drive more player moves to LIV.  It's funny that so many threw darts at LIV for offering kings ransoms... and at the "defectors" for chasing the money.

PGA has too many commercials also.

While I know some of the OEMs have severed ties with some of the LIV players, someone is looking to dip their foot into the LIV pond. I've now received a 3rd survey asking about my attitudes toward LIV and if an OEM sponsoring a LIV player would make me think negatively about the brand.

The divide has gotten greater among whom? The relationships with major championships has progressed; and I perceive a softening of the criticisms from the players. Even attitude among the media and average fan seem to at least stayed the same. Where has the divide broadened lately? My view is the divide is narrowing somewhat. 

I think the stalemate is the complacency of the PGA tour, something I think LIV has done a great job bringing forward. The PGA needs to be more inclusive. Sorry to say but the US doesn't have all the best courses. They should absolutely be exposing themselves in other countries to grow the game. Get a tournament in mexico, get some more in Europe, get some Asia. s*** I'd love to see those par 6 in japan played. I know there may be regional rights regarding the DP tour and what not but they definitely could do more

i  don't know how many on this forum have seen the sports illustrated golf ranking ( https://www.si.com/golf/news/si-world-golf-rankings-jon-rahm-is-no-1-on-our-debut-top-100-list ) , they use one year not two like the owgr , to me its very accurate , i do think adam scott should be higher , its looks to be very fair and unbiased 
i for one will be watching liv golf all year .
don't yet know how deep the pga tour pockets are to keep the elevated events going and the $500,000 deal going , we will see in a couple years .

I just love watching golf in almost all forms. PGA, LIV, LPGA I am here for all of it.

?? I don't understand this comment.  Plenty of the LIV venues (Pumpkin Ridge, Mayakoba, Valderrama, Greenbrier, all the Trump courses) are better than what the PGA Tour plays week in and week out.  It's not Riviera every week for sure.
