That was a strange comment by him. The Tour spent down its reserves. Similar to the point he was trying to make, but far different from taking a loan.
His comments on LIV, Norman, and the flaws in the OWGR rankings were very good.

This topic is officially off the hook...lol. I really don't understand the hate directed toward LIV. I don't particularly care/give a d**n about it.... but, why do some of you seem so adverse to it? It's just golf. Just because it isn't PGA doesn't make it any less golf???  If you keep politics out of it... what else makes you hate it?... competition with the PGA?... something else? I honestly don't get the vitriol directed toward LIV.  Help me out.

what would be useful ? that i hate liv and i will never watch it but i will say how bad it is , i hate 54 holes of golf  and no cut , liv should never get points  , i am so happy now that i am in the click .

norman has a net worth of over $300 million  , i doubt he is in it for the money , he does have a fallout with the pga  and loves the power he has now , in his mine he thinks the pga has has been taking advantage of the players for many many years , as does mickalson , i do think norman/phil knows more about the pga than anyone on this forum .
norman and phil  have done more than anyone ever with the pga new high $$$ and treatment of the players .

PGA and Masters are not "open" championships. 
i was answering to the above post that was not true  to what i said , i never said they were opens  , but i guess new members on this forum with few posts are always wrong , to me addressing a wrong is not adding nothing .  

i agree with at least 95% of what you said , i strongly agree and always have that players that went to liv should not be playing a pga tour event  , but a golf open is what the name imployes  ( us open -the open -pga champ - the masters is a different story ) ,the owgr thing will be worked out in the courts .
as far as norman , i am sure sa wanted someone that had no ties to any tour in the world , the did get the right person .
as far as me not posting on mgs other subjects i post a lot on wrx about normal golf  , ,i like others love mgs golf test and reviews .

look at rory m. now saying norman should go , without norman liv would lose a big chance of a great tour , everyone that hates liv should hope norman goes ., rory knows this also .

I think when you are ever at the top in the world in anything, you show an extra level of confidence in everything you do. Norman does that, but that is what I've always liked about him. He has always been brutally honest, even while at the top of his game, whereas players like Tiger would barely give an interview or anything insightful when he was on his run. Norman is much more human to me and is out for the success of the players and not a tour.

matsuyama does have a bad neck problem , out of the houston  , he has a good reason to go to liv tour , 3 rounds --14 matches and a couple hundred million $$$ , make liv have a japan tournament

So true. Here is a tweet from Phil with 500+ responses, so far. A quick looks shows that the responses are split 50/50 positive/negative. One thing is certain that there are now bots designed to negatively respond to anything LIV that is posted on twitter. I see the same accounts post "no one cares" to every LIV post I see.

i read that -- cantlay  --  schauffele--pereira--pieters  may going to liv , cantlay has been talked about before ..
if liv can pick up a couple of players like matsuyama , scott , hovland , fowler , liv would be on the move .
