On the west coast, we have a beer out of Santa Barbara called 805 by Firestone Walker It’s a beer to be enjoyed 365! Floating in my pool watching golf and watching the kids go down the water slide, or camping in the mountains sitting around a fire, or smoking your buddies by 5 strokes at your local favorite track. Not too heavy, not too light, with a nice slight Carmel aftertaste. So good. Or a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale with some orange slices… damn, getting thirsty!

I’ll walk every chance I get. But if the course wasn’t designed with walking in mind, carts have to be used, or it adversely impacts pace of play.

I’m as OCD as it gets. All Titleist with a Vessel bag, headcovers, towels, ball markers and repair tools. I had an all Taylormade set once. And an all Callaway bag. Although, for a couple of years I had a bag that had Taylormade woods, Adams hybrids, Mizuno irons, Vokey wedges and a Scotty, with a Sun Mountain bag. My buddies were like “WTF, you going through some sort of therapy???” If you’re not OCD, you won’t understand. I’m fine with the “whatever works, I’m not getting paid guy”.  To each his own.

I play Pro V1X in the number 00. I add a red number 7. Also add my initials “R2” in blue to the alignment line.

Looks like I need to go with my original picks and quit “saving “ certain golfers for tournaments on tough courses. The guys I had and changed Wednesday night…especially Scheffler for Cantlay and Im for Hideki…live and learn! Good job to the peeps on top right now!

Nice!! Yeah, it’s been chilly. People don’t realize it gets cold here in the winter it’s a dry-cold, so it’s different. Love all those tracks. I play at Cimarron and Granite Falls in the summer for 20.00 after 11:00. The Red Course is one of my favorites too. I’m about 10 minutes away.

I’ve been so busy with work and teenage daughters 😳😳👯‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️, my game has been…neglected. Get out once a month or so, either shoot 75 or 82 depending on short game and putting. But for the last 4 months I’ve made time, built an area in my third bay of my garage, bought a used GC3, a Rapsodo (for when I go to the range, and down the line video with my iPad), net, mat, 70” Samsung from my neighbors yard sale and set out to get back to scratch. My biggest areas of concern were poor posture and everything that comes with that, most notably, the dreaded “EARLY RELEASE!” Hitting a minimum of 100 balls every other night, with few swing thoughts other than posture and picturing my butt up against a plane of glass. I have made so much progress, my best friend and playing partner said “holy s***, that looked like you 15 years ago!” on the first tee on Sunday. Shot 73 on a really tough track (Wigwam Gold Course). Sorry for the long winded answer!

I went 52 and 58 about 10 years ago. Never looked back. I can open, or hood, both of them and have all the shots I need to play with. Simplified my thought process a lot. I would be between 56 and 60 a lot. Now it’s just 58 and how do I want to play this.
