  1. Good morning Spies! I am definitely addicted to this forum. Glad it’s back, and I hope the prolonged maintenance was purposeful and not panicked for staff. My hiatus appears to have paid off. I did a gentle reentry 9 holes yesterday and played well. My irons were back in form, which is a huge relief. That’s key when playing with the vintage Hogan blades (my backup set), which never fail to amaze me with their playability. Also, I tried out the Paradym TD Max yesterday on a few holes. More to come on that front, but early returns are beyond promising. Hope all are well! I wish you all excellent days!
  2. This was the dispersion today in my 7I test - Maltby TS1 with Xcaliber 105R+ RT shafts (purple). The green was MP221 on a TT SFT 115S. Debating what to build - 4-5/6-P combo with the Xcaliber shafts: MP 223/221 or Maltby TS3/TS1. I already own the Maltby heads, so Maltby will likely win out, but I was super impressed with the MP221 today. It’s not supposed to be so forgiving, but even when I thought I hit it badly, it just went straight - same as the TS1!
  3. I hit several 7 iron demos today and gathered lots of data. The Xcaliber RT shaft is clearly the best for me. Choosing the head is difficult. I was super impressed with the Maltby TS1, TS3 (current gamer), Miura CB-57, and the Mizuno MP221, which shocked me with its accuracy and forgiveness in a TT FST 115S shaft. I mean, wow.
  4. Clutch by Bryson! Happy for him too.
  5. This is pretty exciting. Happy for Finau. Rory may have choked a bit. Bryson with the great bunker shot!
  6. Good morning Spies and HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! Hoping to get some range time in this morning. Then some lake time with family. I wish you all wonderful days!
  7. Curious - which club did you select to demo? Please let us know what you think of it!
  8. That’s pretty cool. Mine says 88. That is just absurd. No. Way. Good afternoon Spies! I have been really busy and MIA. Miss this place. WISHING ALL THE DADS A HAPPY FATHER’s DAY!
  9. I suspect they can, Michael. They are very helpful on the phone. I suggest you pick out the ones you like from their website and give them a call to confirm. Hope it works out!
  10. It’s apparent that we ( @CudaKota66 and @Indy_Oz) need to meet at Buffer Park and play 45 holes after work. Maybe on the solstice that could happen.
  11. I swear I remember Jack Nicklaus saying that golf should have been 14 holes. But my memory could be faulty.
  12. I enjoy any golf I can get, but 9 is not enough. I usually feel like 18 is not enough. That's b/c I am such a slow starter (which I need to fix) that I usually don't start playing remotely well until hole 6 or 7. I need to start planning on a warm-up 9. Ha.
  13. Kudos on the milestone, Jason! You certainly made me feel welcome when I began here on the forum, and remain one of the friendliest among the friendly folks here.
  14. I posted this in the Otto-Phkex thread, but wanted to share it here too for those interested. Had a good time today having my 84 yo father hit some OP shafts in the garage sim. He has a slow swing speed, and struggles getting driver and fairway woods up in the air. First we worked on tilting to the right a bit and hitting up on the ball, and that helped some. The highest lofted club I had handy was a 9° Epic Flash LS lofted to 11°. When he hit the Maltby M890 LL flex, it was like a eureka moment. He instantly gained significant shot height and 20-30 yards. I cut it to his preferred 45” length and am sending it home to Florida with him for Father’s Day. I am excited to hear how he hits it with the Epic Flash Star 12° head my brother and I got him a year ago. We also ordered him another M890 for his 3 wood. Maltby’s claims for this shaft ring true. https://www.golfworks.com/maltby-m890-graphite-wood-shafts/p/ma0311/

  16. I played a scramble today, and absolutely nothing went right except putting, and that was mediocre. It's consistent though - every one of my last five - ten rounds has been worse than the one before, until today I was topping and shanking the ball like a total beginner with driver, irons, etc. It may be time to stop playing for a few weeks, and just try Golf 101 by hitting 9 irons until I can do that again, then move up to Golf 102 and try 8 irons, etc. Something's gotta give. This is not much fun.
  17. Supplemental GMT message: Happy Birthday Jamie @GolfSpy_APH!
  18. Good morning! The courses and hotel look amazing @Northern Monkey! Best wishes for another excellent golfing day! I’m off to work. Then dinner with fam tonight. I wish you all the very best!
  19. Good morning! Good luck to @Northern Monkey and safe travels to @Preeway! No golf for me today. Instead my youngest graduates from HS tonight! Again a full house of visitors but great fun. Wishing you all super days!
  20. Do you find the Smoke TD face as hot as the OG Paradym, and does it have that same sweet compression feel as the OG on center strikes?
  21. Happy bday @Vegan_Golfer_PNW!
  22. How was the distance @mustanggolf and @oldmainbeergolfer for the new hybrid?
