  1. Good input @pozzit. Thank you. To be clear, I don’t think the blades will give me more distance or forgiveness, especially the MP-33s. But I am starting to think that perhaps I hit a more compact, blade-like head more consistently than the larger CB. And it’s a fun challenge.
  2. Date 05/22/2024 Course Name The Fort Gross Score 90 Course Handicap 8 Gross Strokes over/under par 18 Net Score to Par 10 Net Score 82 Net Birdies or better Longest Drive 70.7/130 Hit lots of great shots and putted really well. But couldn’t get off the tee to save my life and penalties destroyed my score. Hurribke. Turrible. But it was still great fun.
  3. Thanks gents. If my test goes well I will def be in touch re buying more!
  4. Those look really great @Willie T! Eager to hear your results. Based on topline views only, other than the ferrules, I cannot tell the Edels and the Maltbys apart.
  5. I suspect this may be unpopular, but I did the unthinkable. I extended the BGT shaft on my LAB DF 2.1 by 1" with a graphite shaft extender. It did fit, just barely, and I was able to save and re-use the press grip. I bought my 2.1 used at 1" shorter than my online fitting. Hence the change. I read elsewhere that a 1" shaft change should not affect lie angle balancing. No verdict yet, but it feels *much* better putting on the carpet in the house. Will get more results on course today. Don't shoot me. Lol.
  6. I read about the Xcaliber here mostly. Folks (albeit, the same folks) rave about them. I really like my Project X LZ shafts, and have had great luck with KBS Tour shafts in the past. But I am always seeking more distance and accuracy, like most people. I worry about the lighter 105 weight as compared to my typical 120 range. Swingweight will be key. It's worth a shot I guess! And I'm pumped to try the TS1. In truth, I will probably be better off if this experiment fails. Ha.
  7. I am weak. I resisted and resisted, for weeks actually. I scanned eBay relentlessly for a deal on preowned too with no luck. But yesterday I finally broke down and ordered two things I have been dying to try: a Maltby TS1 7 iron head and Xcaliber RT 105 shaft to build a tester iron with a Star midsized grip and GW ferrule. I really want a set of playable blades. (I’m counting the TS1 as a blade despite the poly filling. My house/my rules.). So I will test the TS1 against some MP-33s with DG S300 shafts I have waiting to be slightly rejuvenated. The winner will eventually get some serious course time until I remember I am not good enough to play them.
  8. Good morning Spies! Good luck to your daughter’s soccer team @ParFore74x! I plan to endure work today well past lunch, and hope to get 18 in thereafter when the rain clears out. If I could hit GIR I would be excited. Lol. I wish you all super days!
  9. Dang @chisag! Those are good results and great scoring! The AF is a contender for sure.
  10. Those are some very nice gains @johngschulz!
  11. No, I was not aware. I don’t blame you! Wow.
  12. Great work @Rob Person! Super impressive. I see some Rust-Oleum spray paint in your future.
  13. Good morning Spies! Wishing your wife all the best todsy @Erin B! Long day ahead for me today but it will be good to return to some normalcy. I wish you all fairways and greens!
  14. @Deadwalleye you are so right that shafts matter in performance and feel nearly as much as the head. Since you have the shafts in your Pings you like, did you consider swapping one out of a Ping and into a TS1 IM head and giving it a try? No matter what I hope you love the outcome. If you sell you will make someone here happy.
  15. That’s very impressive @KOG! I don’t want to change my TS1 gap, but if I ever have to, it’s good to know the TS3 is on par.
  16. Big congratulations @OdinSnipes414 on breaking 90 and the PB! That is a significant milestone. Good work! I got to play yesterday unexpectedly. Bonus Golf! It was a gorgeous day. I played very well for me for 15 holes, with two birdies (one a hole out from about 25 yards) and a +4 score at that point. The closing holes are tough, and due to my own mistakes off the tee on 16 and 18, and some tough lies in the deep rough (no mowing last week due to the rain), I finished at +9. ShotScope data tells me I really need to work on my approach shots, as I am -5.2 in that stat. Fortunately, my short game exceeds that of a tour pro somehow (to my surprise), at nearly +1 SG. I need it b/c I am frequently scrambling! There is a direct correlation in my game between GIR and score. That's probably true for everyone; I think it is the most important stat if you can putt at least average. Also, the LAB DF2.1 is a work in progress. The roll is unquestionably better than my old gamer. I am making more one putts and more long putts. But I also am making more three putts b/c I am very much still learning distance control with it. Those stats are improving, however, so I am optimistic. Anyway, it was a great day to have some bonus golf in my life. Searching for some more this week.
  17. Date 05/19/2024 Course Name River Glen Gross Score 80 Course Handicap 10 Gross Strokes over/under par 9 Net Score to Par -1 Net Score 70 Net Birdies or better Longest Drive 70.7/131 lovely day! I was +4 after 15. The finish was, shall we say, uninspired.
  18. Great pics and analysis. You will play better next time no doubt.
  19. Such good stuff going on here. I’m glad you like the TS3s Stu. I’m with you on the launch. I don’t hit mine high at all with my PX LZ shafts. Just right - penetrating. @Willie T that stuff looks awesome! Plz give me some opinions on this. I have long said the favorite club in my bag is my TS1 gap wedge. .I am seriously pondering building out a full TS1 set 5-P with the same KBs tour shafts. I know the gap wedge is not foam filled as are the 3-9 irons. Are the foam filled heads as sweet feeling and pure as the forged-only gap wedge or might I be disappointed in the rest of the clubs? Thoughts? I don’t need these at all. But if they all perform like the gap wedge they would be perfect for me. There are none on eBay at all, which seems odd. But also indicative that folks love them.
  20. Good morning spies! This Scottie news is nuts. It sounds to me like a bad situation, a misunderstanding, and possibly an amped up officer and golfer both. Best of luck to @GolfSpy_APH in the tourney! Was supposed to be at Valhalla today, but the rain dampened those plans. Likely no golf for me this weekend. I also had to bow out of a scramble for Monday. My golf world is in shambles! I wish you all great days and sunny, dry weekends. Will that work?
  21. Reading this thread I am so excited for all of you attending. You will have a real blast. Plz post tons of pics and videos and stories.
  22. I put the RX up against the ProV1X left dash in the sim, testing what I thought to be the case from the course, and confirmed that, for me and my swing, the RX is longer and straighter. This is due to lower spin and lower ball flight. I will keep gaming the RX for certain.
  23. Just a few updates on my OP tinkering. I put an Accra FX 3.0 M1 hybrid shaft in my Paradym X 4 hybrid (turned down to 3H loft), and I have to say, it has not disappointed. Coming from a stiff Fuji Motore X shaft it is an adjustment, but with a smooth transition I am getting the same dispersion with about 10 yards more carry. It's staying in the club for certain. I'm on the hunt for another for my 5 hybrid. I also put an Accra FX 3.0 M2 shaft in the TM Brnr Mini 13.5*. The stock stiff shaft in this club is a true rockstar, and tough to beat. If I have a smooth transition and tempo, the OP Accra shaft is a touch longer and straighter, but the stock shaft handles poorer swings better. Testing continues. Finally, I put the 46" Maltby MPF Pro UL L-flex with the Paradym TD for a few swings in the sim after re-dialing my driver swing. I think the 46" is still too long for consistency's sake for me, but wow - the ball went looooong. I may cut an inch off the butt end and see if ball striking can be regular and if I see any distance improvement versus the Accra FX 3.0 MO. The Accra will be incredibly tough to beat for me, but the Maltby MPF and MP5 both are neck and neck with it.
  24. I am jumping on a dormant thread here, but hoping @Popeye64 or someone else can give me a line on securing at least one Xcaliber RT 105 iron shaft to try out in a demo. The website is down (it says temporarily), and I cannot find the 105s online anywhere. Any leads would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.
  25. Congratulations testers! Very eager to read these reviews. Good luck all!
