  1. I will keep my eyes open and reach out if I see anything! Check shopgoodwill.com too!
  2. Maltby TS3. Not a distance iron, but extremely forgiving and one of the softest but feedback-providing forgings I have ever felt.
  3. Great round and result @Northern Monkey! Really impressive. @Overspark07 that sounds like a typical round for someone who is about to bust through a barrier. Many good holes with some blowups we feel like we could have avoided. I am very familiar. Just a hair more luck, focus, and smart decision-making and you probably shoot an 85 or better. Keep after it and I suspect you will be telling us about trying to break 80 soon.
  4. How are we having this discussion @GolfSpy_KFT without including the Apex TI Fusions, which are all black, and come in left hand models? They look so sweet and the reviews. I admit I’m scared to hit them for fear of … expenditures. But you NEED them and we need a full review!
  5. @RichL85 I am so sorry for your loss. Pets are definitely family, and the loss hurts. Badly. Your daughter will need you. Hang in.
  6. Date 08/23/2024 Course Name Harrison Lake CC Gross Score 77 Course Rating 70.5 Course Slope 131 Gross Strokes over/under par 6 Birdies or better 1 Longest Drive 277 Good score for me on a gorgeous day. The greens here are so fast, undulating, and difficult, and the LAB DF 2.1 was not working for me with distance control, so I went back to the Scotty and it made a big difference today. Happy with the results.
  7. I have been working on loosening my grip, being “loosely-goosey” generally, and focusing on smooth tempo and a finished swing/follow-through. It’s amazing how well that has worked. I’m still inconsistent and wish I could do it every time, but more consistency and great results when put into practice!
  8. I love it @MissionMan! You are a lucky man. Kudos to your wife for such a stunning piece of art.
  9. The Maxfli Tour and Tour X balls are on special again, at 4 dozen for $109.96 and free shipping at Dick’s online, and presumably Golf Galaxy too.
  10. I use air but sometimes it’s not perfect. I find that Iomic sticky grips will slide off a steel shaft about 1” if no double-sided tape (I.e., only one-sided sticky tape) is used. These are the only grips I have found to have this issue. Ironic innit? “Sticky” grips don’t stick.
  11. These look amazing and the reviews are out of sight. I am so afraid of hitting these. Lol.
  12. I play my Apex II set several times a year, and a buddy and I plan to play a “vintage blade” round this Sunday. I will game my new to me Apex 99 set for the first time. Excited to do so!
  13. That makes sense right? So I just did a spot test by looking at the MGS 2024 player’s irons rankings, and there seemed to be little obvious correlation except with the winner (TM P-7MC). And the first vs worst had almost the same forgiveness score. The winning TM was super accurate and forgiving, but had a low distance score. This is also logical to me. My quick look is hardly scientific, but interesting nonetheless. I bet MGS has this data at hand. Across many tests, is there statistical correlation between accuracy and forgiveness? Or an inverse relationship between distance and accuracy scores?
  14. This sounds wonderful. Will certainly try to make it!
  15. I try to have a smooth transition with a slight pause at the top of the backswing. Without that my upper and lower body get out of sync. The Shogun will likely prefer a smooth transition. But it happily accepts all the acceleration you can give it through the ball. I hope that helps!
  16. I acquired an ACCRA Shogun Blue 42 model shaft about a month ago. The Shogun is ACCRA's new 2024 top line shaft. And I am falling in love with it. The Blue model has been described as competing with the Autoflex shaft. Mine is the M0 (ladies flex) at a lightweight 43 grams, paired with the Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Max head at 9* and 45" and tipped 1/2". Accra describes the Shogun Blue as follows: "The most stable, 'extreme response design', in the industry. Shōgun Blue promotes maximum bend, fast recovery speed and optimal stability. Any golfer looking for the extreme in distance, The Shōgun Blue is being used by many of the top World Long Drive competitors due to it’s performance and stability characteristics and now every golfer can benefit from this technology." I am familiar with this type of shaft, as I have been a user and proponent of the Otto-Phlex shafts discussed elsewhere in the forum. Also, my prior gamer was a similar ACCRA FX shaft also in an M0 flex, and I have ACCRA FX shafts in all my fairway woods and hybrids. My driver swing speed hovers around 97-103 +/- mph. Why do I find myself adoring this shaft? I have been fortunate to play golf regularly over the last few weeks and have dialed in the shaft/head combo. My results have been excellent. First, in three rounds last weekend, I had three drives around 300 yards (with the longest at 306), and not aided by downhill slopes. Previously, 300 yard drives were rare for me. And these were rounds where I hit driver on only 6 or 7 of 18 holes. Ball flight is high but piercing, and roll out is very good. Here are three examples. Second, my ShotScope performance driving average increased over the last five rounds from 265 to 271 yards. Sure, I still have some short shots when I swing poorly, but far fewer than before. Third, and most importantly, accuracy is greatly improved. Driver has been inconsistent for me historically. But this shaft/head combo has almost taken the left miss out of the equation. See below results from the last five rounds. 42% fairways hit for me is really amazing. And the right misses are very manageable, usually being at most 15 yards off the fairway unless I really quit on my follow-through (which is, still, a common failing). They end up being a push, or a slight fade - not a slice, and in bounds and playable. That is so very encouraging! Seeing this data, I am going to be braver about aiming down the left side of the fairway. Finally, I love the feel. Yes, there is some "whippiness" at address, but I don't feel that at impact at all. Feedback is excellent too; I know instantly if I hit the ball well and where it is headed without looking. All in all, this shaft has been a welcome upgrade. I expect it to stay in the bag for a long, long time.
  17. Good morning Spies! I was away from the forum for a few weekend days (playing lots of golf!), and wow there is a lot going on! So good to see. No golf in today’s plans, but here are some pics from last weekend’s rounds.

  20. Busy work and play day today/tonight, so no time for a full practice session. But on the way out the door I spent 5 minutes on the turf "shadow boxing" with an iron (no ball), focusing on a smooth transition, backswing position, and wrist turn/face angle at impact position.
  21. Great pics. My new (to me) one just arrived. Any tips on how to maximize the TC Pro?
  22. Eager to see the unboxing, impressions, and reviews. Good luck spy testers!
