I played Eagle Ridge at Fort Meyers this morning. I was paired with some seasoned gentlemen from Canada, Alabama and not sure where the last guy was from. We had a fun game. The front 9 is really tight, I mean really tight...lost a few balls and ended up with a 51. The back 9 opens up a bit but I started running out of gas and shot a 48 for an overall 99, which is actually 6 shots better than last year. I hit 8 fairways and had 5 GIR's, which is a big improvement from last year.

It's already in the how did you play thread, but this is me and my FIL at San Carlos in Estero, FL yesterday.

Friday, as Rev reported, I played at Bayou with him, Foz and Rev's friend Gene. Played bad, real bad somewhere in the 115 range. But I played with Foz in the morning at Pebble Creek and shot a 94 albeit off the senior tees. Highlight of that round was hitting a par 5 in two and two putting for birdie. Saturday, being my birthday and being able to do what I wanted I dragged my FIL, Senior, out to San Carlos toplay. I was hitting the ball very well and even better on the back 9. The number 13 par 5 is a dogleg left with water down the right side that continues in front of the green. The guy in the couple that we were playing with said he was going to cut the corner and try for the green in 2 because the wind was blowing the right way...he talked me into doing the same. Hit a nice drive 237 to the middle giving me 183 to the centre. I absolutely blasted a 3 hybrid, laser straight, hit the green and it kept going...ended up behind the green with an impressive 229 yard shot. Chipped back and two putted for par. I ended up shooting a 48/42 for 90, no penalties, which I was quite happy about. Senior and I mid round.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me....+4 on the story.

I actually went and hit balls today for the first time since September. It started as you would expect, poorly. But once I worked up to driver it was a lot better. Went from driver to 3 wood, 5 wood, 4 hybrid, 6 iron, 7 iron, PW and for the most part they were good. Test drove the Smartsole out of a bunker for 20 minutes and have to say I was happy.

There's a first time for everything...I'm getting my lies checked in about an hour before the annual Florida rumble with Foz and Rev tomorrow.

IMO, that's key. You'd be surprised at how many calories you consume when you start logging your food.

First full day in Florida, can't wipe the smile off my face. Tomorrow my son and I are driving up to Universal for the day.

Actually, we got it cheaper because she hooked us up with a corporate rate.

Here's a rant. Got to Florida yesterday and went to Dollar armed with my car reservation. Sorry Sir, you're card won't be accepted by our system because it says money pass on the back of it, meaning it's reloadable. But it's a Mastercard issued by my Credit Union, not a buy off the shelf card. Sorry sir, we can't rent you the car you reserved. Fantastic! We go to Fox off site and the person there does it for us even though she's not meant to but it's costing us almost twice as much for the car, albeit we're in something bigger....but c'mon!

Finally, lost 2lbs instead of putting it on...now I'm headed in the right direction.

Oh hell no! Currently snowing with an expected 5" when it ends.

Didn't like the last one at all. I did like the premise they put out that it was his unknown son.

BP yesterday was 134/73 which is lower than when I was on medication (which the Doc took me off). It could be from partying a bit too hard on Friday night.

You take it easy, there's less than 2 weeks to go till you can kick my arse!

So, who else is retaining water this week besides me? I have no idea how that is happening as I drink 8 to 12 glasses of water a day and move around a bit. I'll keep an eye on it and try and find out what's going on in the following weeks.
