  1. That's a great picture! I'm about to start some golf specific exercises and workouts, hoping to see some flexibility, distance, and endurance improvements.
  2. While injured the only ting I could really do golf related was putt and chip in my house. It paid off as I've chipped in three times in two rounds and putted beautifully. Since it was raining yesterday and today, I hit the chipping and putting practice hard again. Can never be too good at that part of the game!
  3. Yeah I remembered you had moved further north. Works better for me, I'm still in Ellijay. We'll figure something out soon, would love to play with y'all again.
  4. The Forged Tec are as compact as the ZX7? That's awesome. I have a ZX5 in my 5-6 iron and then ZX7 from 7-PW. I have swung the Mizuno Pro 223, I almost went with them over the Srixon's. I actually called Cobra looking for the topline, heel to toe, and sole measurements a few days ago and they were supposed to email me the specs but never did. Definitely don't need you to go out of your way to measure them though, I'm gonna try to get to a store to try them eventually.
  5. That's good info, thank you. I typically play players irons like the JPX 921 Tour and Srixon ZX7 but I'm very intrigued by these. My worry was that they're way bigger than what I'm used to. I don't really need the distance but extra forgiveness in a smaller profile is what has me interested.
  6. Hey @Lacassem would you say these are pretty sleek and look like a player's iron at address?
  7. @ole gray I need to come see these irons in action! It's been over 10 years since we last played at Lake Jonesco. Maybe we can get Randy to join us and we'll play a round sometime this summer.
  8. Ugh, work got in the way again. Hope y'all had a good call!
  9. I have always been a Mizuno guy, had pretty much an entire bag of their stuff at one point. But at the PGA Show a few years ago I hit some of their irons and loved them. For some reason I never bagged them though. Now Cobra is starting to take over my bag, I truly believe they should be in the conversation for best brand top to bottom.
  10. Jamie, I've been wanting to join one of these and today may finally be the day my schedule allows! Not getting my hopes up just yet but hopefully I'll be there!
  11. I've been to the PGA Tour Superstore twice recently and both times I've spent a lot of time with the new L.A.B. Link.1 putter. Prior to buying the Directed Force 2.1 a few years ago, I have always been a blade user so I wanted to try the technology in blade form. It's no secret how good the technology is in the DF 2.1, but man is that Link.1 smooth. It has a great feel and the ball starts on the intended line every time. I have zero issues performance-wise for my current gamer, but the only thing I'd change is its ability to fit in my bag, haha. May be making the switch soon.
  12. I should add, I found my current gamer because of a golf ball test I did for MGS. There isn't a Dick's Sporting Goods near me so I probably never would have tried the Maxfli, but here I am with nothing but Maxfli's in the bag. I hope you all enjoy this test and get amazing results!
  13. Congrats testers! I won 12 dozen of the Vero X1 and it wasn't too bad of a ball. I had trouble with consistent spin results from it, but it was a long ball for sure. Some of my longest shots ever were with that ball, looking forward to the feedback on these!
  14. I've honestly never looked into glove reviews that much, but I am looking forward to this one. My go to glove was done away with a while back and I bought like 20 of them on closeout. I'm down to my last one so it's time to find a new glove I can turn to.
  15. Well, I can finally say that I am fully cleared for golf again! As I'm sure some may remember, I tore the ligaments in my ankle an hour before teeing off in a tournament I was the defending champ in last August. With my weight being a factor and improper care at the start of the injury (I may have played the 18 holes anyway, I drove 5 hours to be there) it took much longer than the estimated 8-12 weeks to be able to golf again. I tried a couple times in the last few months but it went terribly. Happy to come on here and be able to contribute to this again! I played 9 holes over the weekend and shot +4 which by my usual standards isn't great, but I played pain free and hit the ball extremely well! I had all my distance, putting was on point, and the only real concern was timing my swing up which caused some shots to go the wrong direction. All in all, I consider it a success. Shot of the day was on a par 5, after hitting a bomb of a drive I had 191 left and hit a 7 iron pin high with only 14 feet left for eagle. I lipped out the eagle but made the birdie.
  16. This should be a fun one to follow, got what seems to be a great product and a great set of testers. Can't wait!
  17. 1st Tie Breaker - Cut Number: +3 2nd Tie Breaker - What will be Tiger's score after the 2nd round relative to par?: E As always, thanks to everyone involved in making these contests happen!
  18. I'm digging the change on both mobile and desktop. Looks great and easy to navigate!
  19. If anybody has been on the fence about buying Edison Forged wedges and wants to scoop them up at their lowest price ever, you can use code JR23 for $40 off per wedge or head only. If you buy two or more wedges, it will unlock free shipping.
  20. As someone trying to build an in home simulator in the next year or so, this is very intriguing. I've been wanting something like this for a long time but I'm interested in doing tests with it on different equipment and balls. Doesn't sound possible since it's most accurate with the supplied golf balls.
  21. Yeah I remember talking to you on here a couple years ago about knowing my buddy Bill Murchison there at Towne Lake Hills. I haven't been down there to play in a while, usually I'm at Bridgemill or Woodmont when down that way. I'll definitely give ya a shout when I come back down, would be nice to get back out there.
  22. Spent the last week doing a lot of chipping and putting in the house, preparing to make a return to the golf course. Weather has been insane here for a while. In the past month, we've had more rain than I can remember, wind chills down to -9, snow, tornado warnings, and straight line winds causing damage through the area. Pretty sure we've experienced it all recently, hoping the local courses can get dried out soon and we can get back out there! I don't think I've played since November and that was after a near three month hiatus due to injury. To say I have an itch that needs to be scratched is an understatement!
  23. Welcome to the forum! I'm in Delano a few times a year, we have family in Etowah and we always like to visit the Amish Farm for fresh produce. You mentioned Indian Trace, is it the one in Chatsworth, GA? We play there a couple times a year, fun little track for sure. Oh, and I love college baseball, well any baseball really. Used to know a lot of players out there in the minors and majors but now I'm mostly just a fan and a travel team coach.
  24. It has done nothing but rain for almost 2 weeks, wanting to golf so bad I can't stand it. It's usually bad cold here in the mountains but the temps have been nice. Now that we have our first couple of days without rain, we're in the 20's.
  25. Well, finally made my way back on the course after 84 long days. Have gone to the driving range a few times while rehabbing my ankle injury and the results were terrible... shanking shots, no control over ball flight with random hooks and slices, just flat out bad. Through three range trips and about 75 shots each time, I hit maybe 10-15 shots that looked normal. I was pretty defeated and lost my drive to play. Up until the injury, I had been playing the best golf of my life and felt like I was well on my way to being ready to compete but now I looked like I'd never played before. My dad talked me into playing 9 holes today and it started out as bad as possible. Keep in mind my last two rounds prior to injury were 71, 75. Here I sat on the par 5 6th tee box (the hole I live on and have made birdie or eagle on for 8 straight rounds) and I am +9 with 6 putts. Something clicked, I birdied the hole after a 309 yard drive and lipped out eagle putt, and shot -2 on the last 4 holes. It was like someone literally flipped a switch, my shots went back to being crisp, having a beautiful baby draw, and I couldn't miss. Hoping it wasn't a fluke and my game is back!
