  1. Yes, but you are also living in the future compared to most of us.
  2. Great start so far. Love all the photos and the depth you are all going into so far. Keep it going as we intently watch to see the progress! Personally I am not a big remote fan and I have tried them, but prefer having contact with rig, so the M5 is one that really has peaked my interest.
  3. If you mean for forum testing whether it be the new 425 or other Ping clubs, it varies from year to year and it isn't always the same clubs from the same OEM's that are tested. Our testing season has just started and several of the mods are hard at work behind the scenes with the OEM's to provide us with these opportunities. Keep a eye out for some that you like and apply! Also check out this to better your chances when you do apply Hope that helps and welcome to MGS!
  4. I feel as though the Cobra Connect 5 thread kinda hijacked our attention... and somewhat rightfully so. However just completed some updates on my Trade Project, I've updated around 60 players totals? Again this is something I've been doing in my spare time and is more for fun. With that the first page includes a quick intro and how to, second page has all the rankings and the third is a table for you to play and copy and paste players in to see how they compare or stack up. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z8ivU_adG-5XGeeY_KeLYO180vFuWDgov6tU_GvQSDQ/edit#gid=0 I will and can easily do the updates to it each week, but the totalling of players values takes a fair bit more time so that I won't likely do that often unless I am searching trying to make trades. Hope everyone enjoyed the bye week and looking forward to being back at it this week.
  5. Pretty sure I've posted in this thread already, but over the last season or so things have changed with my swing and so has my use with the 3 wood. It use to be a go to club and although I still love it, I seem to hit really low screaming bullets with it which has led to less functional use on the course. I hope that with joining a new course and seeing how the layout is that I get more use out of it. It is really cool they have a championship 18, championship 9 as well as 2 6 hole courses which should make for a great time and hopefully a love reignited with the beloved F7 3 wood.
  6. Do any of our MGS fantasy players get points towards playoffs from this? It is a interesting concept and I tend to agree with what is being said in all the above posts. It is a lot of money and likely could be spend elsewhere to help the game in a more impactful manner. NLU has made several arguments in the past that players who move the needle should somehow make more as they bring more eyes to the event they are in, however through their own social medias and endorsements they often make more then can be dreamt of. Hopefully some good of this comes and maybe in the end the players who do earn this will use it to give back to events or charities that will help the game as a whole.
  7. Exactly, a balancing act because you need to get through to the final week to begin with. Also the higher you end up in the standings heading into the playoffs the more bonus points you receive to reward a good season. I do recall being able to pick up 2 guys or either the first or second round of playoffs one of them being Mackenzie Hughes who ended up top getting into the top 30 and someone else who was top 60. There may be some available on the waivers, but I think less likely this season. We still have 3 months till the trade deadline as well.
  8. True, I prefer the Morikawa side however there is no denying how talented DJ is and he will always be a favorite regardless of the event. I'll happily take Rory off someones hands for a decent price!
  9. Poor Morikawa didn't last long on BNG, however a nice return in DJ. I know what side of the trade I prefer, but looks pretty darn even overall.
  10. Thanks everyone for the kind words and glad you enjoy my content! Here is to another 5 years of good chats and everything golf.
  11. It would be great to see how long a lot of us have been around. I am sure it ranges a lot greater then 5 years, but we have so many new members here as well. Even checking out the Tommy Armour putter testers there are several new names which are great to see.
  12. Does that coffee mug have a little something special in it? It's funny how I don't do or get excited for my birthday, but this I was. It is great to connect with similar minded golfers and MGS makes it that much easier to find them.
  13. Thank you, In all fairness I didn't remember as much as looked back at the profile history where everything is. My memory is good, but not that good.
  14. 5 Years…. A week from today celebrates 5 years of being on MGS Forums as a member. I wanted to post this on the day of, but looks like next week will be insanely busy so this drops early! It has been quite a journey and looking back a lot has happened over those 5 years. Not only just in life, but in my MGS Forum life! The MGS Highlights - Meet and golf with @nunfa0 in NZ (Twice!) - Taken part in 3 completely different testing opportunities - Taken part in the 4 club Connect Cobra Challenge - Posted over 1600 times - Made the finals of MGS Fantasy Football (2020 season) - Won the 2020 MGS Fantasy Golf Golden TIcket (prize tbd) - Gain several new friends and learn a lot from the best online community - Somehow got a community reputation nearing 2700 - Become a yearly donor - Countless hours of reading and too many reactions given - More golf knowledge then I could have ever imagined being learned, but still learning! And so much more I cannot stress enough how much this community means to me, from the Fantasy sports, testing opportunities and reviews done by all, to the everyday interactions this has become an incredible part of my life and a community I am very proud to be a part of. The insight a lot of people have here as well as the pure love of golf is toxic in a good way and its great to see the membership and forum grow. With new updates each year to the forum and improvements made with each season it is exciting to be a part of and watch it evolve. The forum has changed a lot over the years, as to have the staff and the increase of membership is phenomenal. I know there are a of lot members who have been here longer or posted a lot more, but I am very proud of my involvement here and happy to give back to this community as it has given me so much for so little in return. I also went back and looked at my old posts to see where and what my first posts were. Of course like many my first posts were applications for testing. Although I could have sworn it was for Ben Hogan irons, it was actually Cobra F6 Tec Flow irons. My first “real” post was on a Survey MGS put out and well I’ll link it here. This post came nearly 6 months after joining. What was your first ever real non testing application post? First picture I posted was of course Apollo- Admittedly I was apprehensive about posting and lurked around reading and applying for testing opportunities. I wasn’t confident in my golfing knowledge and had never been a part of a internet community outside of facebook. It took about a full year of being a member before I started contributing regularly and that also coincided with me getting a golf membership and playing more frequently. To sum up thank you to all those who I have met and engaged with along the way and hope to be able to meet and play more rounds with many of you in the future!
  15. I'll be sending out offers likely this week too... Trying to package fowler and Fleetwood in a 2 for 1. I plan to hold onto Hovland, Spieth and Morikawa and prefer to keep Fitzpatrick and Hatton but they could be available depending on who is offered.
  16. Bubba's reaction trying to figure it out and how and the ripple effects it is going to have for the rest of the season. @blackngold_blood this is how i picture when it was accepted
  17. As the big trade just drops....
  18. Week 12 Recap: RBC Heritage Another week over and done with. Congrats to Stewart Cink in keeping the train rolling form his masters performance made for a uneventful Sunday in terms of the winner, but a great battle for positions behind him. This was a tough week for some of our previous leaders not able to fill full teams which led to some dropping down the order a bit. However it gave a chance for some new teams to shine! I would have to go back to the draft, but it certainly looks those autodraft with no presetup teams had a very good week this week... Our Highest Scoring Team of the Week goes to @Brad1978golf with a huge 248.1. He was led by Cink, Grillo, Hoffman and Im. This team managed to beat out every other team by more then 24 points. Our undefeated teams this week counted 6, with a wide range of players helping them to their weekly undefeated record. We have a new leader a top the standings making it 7 total leaders this season so far, yours truly has ended on top for the week. I won't be letting that title slip away that easily! Rounding out the top 15 are below. Going into the bye week there is more separation at the cut off point, however it is still very much come down to the wire I feel. Considering there are 10 spots within 4 games one week still will have a massive effect on the standings and who makes the cut. We once again had a good number of close matches (within 1 point). A lot more disparity in scoring from previous weeks (I felt), but here are some of the highlighted matches. This again leads nicely into our League Median which was our second highest of the season ended at 167.15. I can't help but think those top teams from previous weeks that punted on this week by not having a full roster got a bit of a good break with that. If you know you're not going to have a great week nice to have it when a lot of other teams have great weeks. Some awesome performances by some players left on the waiver wire. Surely at least a few of them will be picked up leading into our next week. Overall it was a good fun week on a great course, which I found enjoyable to watch and follow along with. We are headed into a bye week as our next event is Valspar, which would then make this a good trading week with the half way point at the season right around the corner in two weeks time. Which reminds me we did have some bigger trades this week with some bigger names moving teams. Surprisingly BNG was not involved, however he has spoken on the rumblings of a big 3 team trade which is in the works. Finally, it is still a work in progress but I've made a trade value chart, it is far from perfect but you are able to see all the info from OWGR, FEDEX, Fantasy and more right there. If you want take a look, I'll be sure to keep it updated (just finished doing it this morning) and maybe it will help facilitate some trades. It isn't perfect, but was a fun Sunday project that I'll continue to build on. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z8ivU_adG-5XGeeY_KeLYO180vFuWDgov6tU_GvQSDQ/edit?usp=sharing Cheers all good luck to everyone going into the bye week!
  19. Were you able to see it? I thought I opened it to everyone. Okay I have opened it up to everyone. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z8ivU_adG-5XGeeY_KeLYO180vFuWDgov6tU_GvQSDQ/edit?usp=sharing
  20. Okay, it has been a lazy Sunday for me and I started working on a new project. I am still working on some of the formulas and how to combine some of the data but here is a start. I will do my best to keep it updated each week as well as change some of the point weightings as we get closer to playoffs as some of the values will shift. That being said if we have any google sheet pros or anyone has advice for values or really any feedback let me know. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z8ivU_adG-5XGeeY_KeLYO180vFuWDgov6tU_GvQSDQ/edit?usp=sharing This is meant to help make some sense of players value in trades (I know football and other sports have this especially in drafts). I don't quite know how to pull all the data I need for each individual player and make it into a master ranking. However by adding up the 4 player Trade Value columns it will provide you with a total number (using the search button to find the player is easiest as I did top 125 in each category) I'm going to keep working on cleaning it up and making it a bit more clean, but you can also go to the sheets to see OWGR, FedExCup and Fantrax Fantasy points as well as Average Per Event summaries which have most of the Fantrax Data there. Again I'm bored and the F1 Race doesn't start for another hour!
  21. Yes this is going off topic... but what classifies as being too young to nap? Admittedly I am a scared of the answer....
  22. Exactly, potential is a aspect that is hard to quantify, but DJ and Rory and still DJ and Rory regardless of how their season is going. Top 10 guys are still top 10 guys and there are always those guys who are a cut above. Harris English is another who I would put in the really good, but struggling category. Hence why it is also good to take a look at the OWGR ranking as well and consider that in part. In the next month or so I would guess we start to see some teams ramping up towards playoffs and others looking at buying to just get in and secure their teams. We have a really good group and its great to see the activity week in and week out. This is all to say happy trading out there and we know most all make the best potential offers for players while obviously trying to improve their roster in their own mind.
  23. With the last few comments being on trades and it seeming that there are a few more interested parties out there in the trading block thought it would be good to throw up 2 different screenshots from Fantrax. The first is the Top Players overall in fantasy points earned since our season has started. Although our playoffs and system has a lot of impact based off FedEx Cup standings this is a good idea of who the top players are so far and how they can be valued on a trade chart. The second is top per event, now this has a few odd names of players who have only played one event and done well, but still gives a good indication of where some players should be ranked when trading for them. For those new to the fantrax site, there is a ton of information avialable on the site. It can be a little difficult to find at times, but it is well worth it to spend some time playing around and searching through some of the different tabs to find different results. Or always just ask in the thread (even how to get the cool night mode which is much easier on the eyes). Hope this helps and you find the information interesting!
  24. Bye bye rory? That is my guess. I could see a few bigger names being switched around. A lot of good players on colder streaks and coming to crunch time for some teams to get wins.
  25. I know I shouldnt be surprised but I'm curious what big name will be added to your roster for next week!
