  1. Thankfully I haven't run into any dogs that I would say we're out of line or out of control. We have come across a couple not so friendly dogs (our neighbours dog being one of them) and their owners have been great simply saying their dog doesn't play well and we move on. My pup has learned that our neighbours dog is unfriendly and as our yard isn't fenced and I rarely have him on leash at home. he stays away and just watches the neighbours dog while it barks at the end of it's rope desperately trying to get to at him. The rest of the folks in our neighbourhood that have dogs are all very friendly and the dogs romp around and play in a common area right by all the houses.
  2. Thanks! He's a great dog and loves hanging out in the garage with me while I'm working or cleaning the sticks after a round.
  3. Figured after I did a good clean on the sticks they would good for my first MGS WIMB. Only carrying 13 clubs right now as I am still figuring out my wedges and whether to potentially throw a 3 iron into the mix. Anyway here goes! Driver Cobra Fly Z+ Blue 10.5* xstiff 3 wood Cobra F7 Baffler 15* stiff 5 wood Nike Vapor Fly 19* stiff Irons 4-GW Ping i Nippon Modus 105 stiff Wedge Cobra Tour Trusty Rusty 56* Putter Nike converge SC-12 Counter Balance For the first time in a well forever I am really happy with everything in my bag and really enjoy hitting all my clubs....until something newer and more shiny comes along!
  4. Hanging out while I clean my clubs
  5. It's something that I am looking into likely for next season and am considering now that I am playing a lot more. Even on my home course I'm sure it would help with more exact distances.
  6. Small rant and it's not a huge deal but it was pretty annoying. Earlier today I went to a course with a friend and it wasn't one I had ever played before but heard decent things about it. He has played there once about 5 years ago and really didn't remember the course. We check in and all is good go get warmed up and start the round, but when we walk up the the tee I realize there is no map of the course whatsoever. No hole layout anywhere to be found. Not on their website, score card or at the course. I know there are apps and gps systems that may have the course layout, but I'm a little old fashion and like to see somewhere at the course. I really enjoyed the round and played very well all things considered. It just sucks knowing I left some shots out there simply by not knowing where and when to go for shots with a lot of them being blind. Anyway there is my rant. I guess I should just suck it up and get with technology and use one of the gps apps on my phone. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. I always enjoyed reading about golf well everything. In particular club reviews and info on new things coming out. I would say 99% of the time I found MGS to have the best of both. That and I really enjoyed reading all the data they gave along with the most wanted articles. It's just an amazing site and community that quickly got me hooked! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. Super stroke mid slim 2.0 for me. The Nike counter flex putter I'm trying out has a very similar sized grip. It's a great size for me. I don't think if I could ever go to a skinny grip. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. So far this season I have played a lot of golf even in bad weather. I have got a few spots in the back switched around and believe I have all the clubs I want and or need to suit my game. That being said something always comes up and changes. However what I don't have and am looking into more now that I want to get more dialled in are the portable relaunch monitors (Ernest and voice caddie) or a range finder. I've never had or really used either. Any suggestions or recommendations? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Summer is a lot of walking the dog and helping the grandparents at their cottage. That takes up most of my time outside of golfing. Bbqing would definitely also be a summer hobby. Winter is taken up by work and curling and travel. Curling has been my winter sport for nearly 22 years and is my other passion/hobby outside of golf. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Here's what I would do with $1200 All clubs would be used and most purchase through eBay and such. Driver- cobra flyz+ $150 3 wood- taylormade rbz $60 5 wood- callaway BB V series $100 Irons- Nike Vapor Pro Combo 4-pw $550 Wedges- Cleveland Reg 588 50,54,58 $180 Putter- odyssey works tank #7 $130 Total of $1170 Keep in mind this is all Canadian funds so if we swap over to American I bet I could afford a lot more! 12. I have to agree with you all there, I think cobra is seriously underrated and make an amazing product. I love their fly z+ which is my gamer. I also had the amp cell pro Irons which were a thing of beauty. I still regret ever selling them. Maybe one day another pro version will work their way back into my bag Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. I love the cobra blades (amp cell pro to the new king pro) but have to say the whole mizuno jpx 900 range ticks all the boxes for me from players to gi Irons look great
  14. Tee off in a hour and a half! Unfortunately we have had a really bad May in Nova Scotia and it's been raining and colder nearly every day, but still great to get out on the course regardless! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. I won't lie as long as it's coffee I'm happy. There are very few places I don't like coffee. Tim Hortons is one of them, but even in a pinch it will do. Gotta love a pour over first thing in the morning though! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Tons of rain here in Halifax has turned the creek into a raging river. Great fun though! 17. I started golfing when I was younger with my dad, although we kept score I couldn't tell you how well we actually did. We were definitely playing more for the fun of the game then being competitive. It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I took it back up and started playing more frequently. Since then I broke 100 pretty quick, probably 5 or so rounds. Breaking 90 was later on in my first season back and breaking 80 didn't happen until two days ago! Had a lot of close rounds up to that point, but always ended up in the 81-85 range. Next up is 70, which I have a feeling will take a long time! But here's to trying! 18. 3 clubs were recently added to my bag. Cobra f7 3 wood, best 3 wood I've ever used. Can't see it leaving the bag for a very very long time. That and callaway MD3 black 56,60 wedges. Which I really can't complain about! So far good clubs. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. So far I'm at 4 rounds 18 holes. With another round about to be played in a hour! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. Another walker here! I much prefer walking to a cart. Not really sure why other then it's nice to get the exercise and enjoy seeing the course at a bit of a slower pace. The click gear cart has made a world of a difference in enjoying walking that much more. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. Came for the reviews and all the other great content. Still relatively new, but really can't beat this site and all it offers! Thank you MGS Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. I have a Monday-Thursday Membership at a local course which was on special (I have summers off!) Then I play other courses throughout the weekend as my wife and I spend time at the family cottage and other areas of Nova Scotia to get some variety in. Best of both worlds I think. Always nice having a change of scenery playing a variety of courses. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. Personally I will admit that I have used YouTube to help with swing fixes. That being said going to a coach has been much more beneficial. Although I want to improve, I golf for the enjoyment of the sport and to get outside! Trying to tweak something all the time just seems to take the fun out of it and makes my game worsez Equipment reviews I do love watching! Great way to get a decent opinion on what may be worth trying out! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
