  1. Date 01/07/2024 Course Name El Cardonal at Diamante Gross Score 77 Course Handicap 0 Gross Strokes over/under par 5 Net Score to Par 5 Net Score 77 Net Birdies or better 5 Longest Drive 316 SIM Round? SIM So freaking happy with this round. Putting on the first home was brutal to get the speed and how the greens react, but after that things got better! Fun course also!
  2. They have limited runs so stay tuned as new stuff hits every month or so.
  3. Sorry one more photo... if these were lefty I would own them.
  4. Let me introduce you to a special brand. Toura golf. For those of you who don't know about them are a premium forged golf company that prides itself in making some truly spectacular clubs. This is what they have to say about themselves. "Toura Golf specializes in producing high quality and high performing golf clubs. Our brand is known for its mix of cutting edge technology and minimalist design instincts. Toura Golf clubs are produced in limited quantities or are one of a kind. Toura Golf also produces blank versions of many of our most popular clubs which has earned us a following in the custom club building community. Those who know, know Toura Golf." Toura is a small company, but growing and many of us staff have been drooling over the clubs. While they do sell full complete sets, a big part of what they do is cater to those who enjoy the building aspect. In fact that is where they got started. As a club builder and tinkerer, founder Jon, wanted to find a blank set of blades to build. Unfortunately there was none to be found. So after a little research and some capital Toura Golf was born. You can find all the other details on their site here: https://touragolf.com/ As part of a "how to" series I picked up a set of wedges to build. I wasn't really sure if I would put these in play, or just have them as a back up set or just put them as a showcase piece... after having built them there is little question they will be going for a full test run. Unboxing - WOW I have ordered and received my fair share of clubs before and I can truly say I have never had an unboxing experience like this. Only heads were ordered, so no big long box, just a small box for the 3 heads, grips, some ferrules and a nice little surprise. Each club was packaged separately in its own black bubble wrap, then inside the head was in a really nice Toura Golf branded pouch. And inside that another bubble wrap. There was no way these were going to be damaged in shipping. The Grips were also in their own black bubble wrap and same goes for the ferrules, including another nice pouch. The surprise was a Toura Golf card with a QR code on the back. With a quick scan of the code it brought up their site and the official Toura Golf authentication certificate. A cool nice touch as each club has a serial number on it and we know that they are true products. All in all just a really pleasing experience and felt very personal. Great job and good on them! Now for some photos! Toura Golf Wedge - First Impressions First impressions are spectacular. Truly. So simple, so clean and just a fantastic look. Reminds me a lot of my COBRA Trust Rusty Tour (and side by side they aren't that different other than some offset and a bit in size). Which have played that wedge for a good while is quite comforting and welcoming. Of course being just heads this is mainly about the build. Even though these are a bladed wedge and I tend to lean toward the cavity back design I truly cannot wait to hit them and get started with testing! Before that I had to opportunity to snap a few more photos and then get started on the build. The Build - Toura Golf Wedges I am using the Toura Golf Grips as they feel great and pulled my shafts from another set of irons I have. These are .370 parallel tip heads and just so happens these black KBS Tour 90 shafts are the perfect fit. So shafts pulled, measured and cut and was able to get started. I also used the Toura Golf ferrules they provided and was truly torn between which ones to use and opted for the white and silver to match the grips. Who knows, maybe at a later date I pull them and swap them out for the blue? or green? or maybe even orange? The build went smooth and while I still need to finish the ferrules, the grips feel great, swing weight is on point and I will be hard pressed to find a sleeker looking wedge. Again almost ... almost too pretty to play. I love to no logo nothing black finish and as I head to a shop to get some numbers I will be curious if the staff asks about them or not. A lot more to come on this and there will be a full article/update on the build itself in the future. One more final photo before I get started with the rest!
  5. Yes, definitely worth it. That being said make sure you are prepared for the fitting, have a discussion with the fitter prior or while warming up about expectations, typical ball flight, budget and more to get the most out of your fitting!
  6. Outside of shot scope and Garmin I have only seen one other company. I reached out and that went unanswered so tricky. If you have names of companies please list them here.
  7. Most DTC have KBS shafts as their stock options. The KBS Tour line specificity is very popular. It would be possible to get a good feel and idea for how a shaft would perform. But not perfect. Given your handicap I'm sure you have a solid idea of what works for you. Whether that be typical flex or weight.
  8. I think once ppl see these photos and the photos the crew have of them, they will want to test a lot more. Here is a little teaser. And yes I am testing a RH putter, for one I've been toying with the concept and also should make it easier to pass along.
  9. It is. I've rolled one in person! Was going to drop the photo but looks like it was a casualty of my recent photo cleaning.
  10. Not quite, definitely inbetween the orange and the brown. I'll try and get some photos with more lighting for better colors.
  11. https://www.amazon.de/-/en/SAPLIZE-Rubber-Grips-Standard-Medium/dp/B094DSH4Y6 Hopefully it will take you to the US site. It is the Saplize burnt orange set.
  12. I should also throw this out as a reminder to all. While some members will get more than one test per season, the expectation for members is that you will get one opportunity for the 2024 season. Please only sign up for the tests that you are interested in. If you get picked for a product that you aren't excited for and accept, thats on you and that could very well be your test for the season! Also IF YOU ARE TESTING DO NOT SIGN UP! It looks greedy and as though you are only here for free stuff.
  13. I have two sets, the white and grey and white and blue and was really torn between which ones to put on.
  14. The wedges are so pretty. With the Black KBS shafts they are truly stunning.
  15. Toura Set of wedges nearly done with the build. Took my time today and pulled, prepped and cut the shafts. Installed the heads and ferrules. Will do a tidy up on them tomorrow. Grips will be put on as well. Other project is refinishing the set of Cobra AMP Cell Pro irons. Doing the whole thing with those, need get acetone to remove the paint and get started on that. Also have an awesome Star Grip air compressor gun which is amazing. Been fun to use that!
  16. https://mygolfspy.com/labs/mygolfspy-lab-how-does-cover-damage-affect-golf-ball-flight/ Moderate scuffed caused 43 yard difference carry.... and 46 yards offline. Even a light scuff at 10 yards offline and 10 feet difference in height is pretty huge.
  17. This and various other used ball tests have been done. Massive differences and very clear significant performance loss.
  18. Some very unique offerings on the way. Opportunities unlike previous years on a little bit of everything!
  19. I made a similar thread a few years back. Will be curious how answers change. For the most part I stick to my same home course. Main reason being cost. Golf is stupid expensive here and outside of 3 or 4 rounds at other courses it's just not worth it. Thankfully we have a 27 hole facility and par 3 course do lots of options!
  20. https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/first-look/bettinardi-2024-tiki-qb6-limited-run-putter/ Not gunna lie I love these. What do you think?
  21. Lots coming down the pipeline! Get ready! And for all read the guide and instructions! Kinda an important thing.
  22. Daily Deal: Club Golf Looking at traveling soon? Need the best way to protect your clubs and travel in style? This is the company you want to check out! GET DEALS HERE!
  23. Good morning all! Club building day here!
  24. Looks like spots are flying and filling up quickly! See most definitely want to host more of these in the future. That being said they are a lot of work, time and effort to put together. So big thanks to all those involved. I know it was a process! We are going to make efforts to have these be another core pillar of the forum. It was on the community call, but with the event starting Thursday we could be in for an epic community call!
