  1. What greater (improved) dispersion pattern are you looking for? Left to right? Front to back? I'm a big big fan of combo sets. Get the greater precision with scoring clubs and added forgives with longer irons.
  2. I wish! Due to stocking and such that would be a tough get! Thankfully we have some members with them already doing unofficial reviews.
  3. We have actually done this before! Was several years ago, however we may have enough new member it could be worth another look.
  4. HQ is doing doing some stuff with them. I've reached out a couple times and am still awaiting a response. It is the holidays right now so don't expect responses till beginning of Jan.
  5. One thing with the grips. Try to stick with lower priced name brands. Saplize is the main one. While not as great quality as the big names, they are better than the rip off brands.
  6. Sorry I know I have been slacking on the daily deals! Too much else going on. Galway Bay currently has their Winter Sale going on with up to 60% off rain gear items! Check it out! https://galwaybaygolf.com/collections/all
  7. The first bit is more of an HQ thing vs forum testing. While it is slightly different year over year there are data points you can refernce to see where clubs improved etc. Tricky part I see with that is the different stock shaft options that come available each season and what fits who best. Japanese - email out but zero responses. Not really surprised, but we continue to try. Boutique brands - some emails out, most have responded with this isn't their niche and prefer other methods vs testing as it isn't always the performance vs aesthetic etc with them.
  8. A great range of suggestions and responses thank you! Most of these companies we have reached out to in one form or another. Some are game, some not so much. However this is great to give us a little peak into what many members are interested to see come to testing one way or another!
  9. Oh great so all of this is going to continue drag on and on ... exactly what everyone needs to stay interested.

  11. Good morning day night all! Forum had an important exposure article drop today.. We could use the forum support and help to give it a boost and hopefully get the to be a monthly thing! Check it out! https://mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/mygolfspy-forum-highlights-december-2023/
  12. We had 8 Canadian testers last season! More simply need to get more involved!
  13. Pure success here. I've ordered a ton of stuff and all has been solid. Even golf shoes...
  14. We do everything we can to be as forthcoming and transparent to make everyone who really wants to be a tester easier. It's not hard, but paying attention and actually reading versus just sign up and hope goes a long way.
  15. Truly, from myself and Matt @GolfSpy SAM and the other's in staff. We love hosting these. It is a great way for us to connect to the community and make this place a little more personable. Online it can be a challenge to get a feel for who ppl are and I'm hopping this breaks that barrier. Even just a little bit. I'm glad so many are joining and spending some time with us each and every Thursday. Really cool to see the cute group grow and us go for having 5 or so on to 15-20 on a fairly regular basis. That may not seem like a lot but it is huge for us. Big thanks to all! Whether you cone chime in or just listen it's great to have all of you!
  16. https://meet.google.com/zat-zbnx-kno We are live!
  17. 1 degree represents Loft up or down. There will be a certain degree of lie change as well.
  18. The use of more exotic materials to help optimize speeds, weight distribution and strength of equipment.
  19. Not being a numbers guy the video definitely wouldn't be catered towards you. Just saying. The question many people ask in bays and all around the globe is how far they should be hitting their 7 given their swing speed. This happens because 7 irons are often the test clubs. This video helps give them a simple answer. Swing speed times 1.9. That is a good optimal length for ones 7 iron. If they are way short of that number they then have a goal of how far they can hit an optimized 7 iron. Again it isn't about gapping, gapping would follow after they get the 7 iron in line. You have a set that works for you great, does your swing speed times 1.9 match the 7 iron distance? If yes, great you are adding to the theory he has. If not, maybe you are leaving something on the table with launch, spin or something else. It is up to you whether you want to try to optimize that further or not. If you are happy with where you are great, but then the whole video isn't meant for you as you are happy with your set and configuration. Bottom line many many aren't as happy with their setups, many have these questions and find these simple things like swing speed times 1.9 = optimal distance extremely beneficial when testing new equipment or trying to get the most out of their game.
  20. That is all determined by the OEM. However 4 is our magic number. More than 4 the 5+ reviews don't get the same attention and therefore we recommend to the companies 4 testers. Where we had 220+ testers last year I would expect that number to be closer to 180. There is room for us to trim and not get on this again, but enough less than okay reviews that we feel it's better to cut back a little to get better reviews and reward those who participate and do good reviews vs just getting tests for the sake of getting tests.
  21. You are right, you did miss the point of the video. That's okay though. It is not a iron gapping video. This question is widely asked and a topic for many golfers which is why it was produced and why this thread has a good number of comments on it.
  22. We will be announcing our additional two new testers in the new year. Mevo reviews will be wrapping up in the next 10 days and then the fun will begin on the Mevo+!
