  2. Hope it's a quick fix and she is feeling better soon! Not the best start to the year, but glad she is okay. Happy new year and hope you get the sleep you need!
  3. Our last two spots have been filled and are announced! Check the first page and main post to see who the final two testers !
  4. One of the benefits of having chinese manufacturers with blanks that essentially anyone can buy and use.
  5. have to agree here. I have seen those and even pebble beach ones before and decided to not go for them. Same with several other headcovers available there with OEM logos etc.
  6. It has been interesting to see the responses so far. Appreciate the input so far and to see how or what draws our different members to watching golf or even turning it off.
  7. Happy New Year all! Hope everyone is excited to begin the new year! Here is a little recap!
  8. No need to apologize! I had seen and read the article before it was posted here.
  9. That was the original thinking was finding a cheaper close to equivalent shaft to the Autoflex.
  10. So reviews are weird because there are paid bot accounts for reviews. The only thing I trust are the photo reviews.
  11. Footjoy Sales Footjoy has some incredible deals on nearly all their shoes. This is a cant miss on arguably the best shoe company out there!
  12. Ryan isn't my favorite as is. Don't wish anyone foolish errors like this either. The statement quote there certainly could have been written better and something along the lines of why would you be playing a wedge from 14 years ago etc.. Anyway glad it was taken down as it was false and too bad it got as much run as it did potentially leading ppl on the wrong path.
  13. Something to look into. This is the year for several brands (Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade, Bridgestone and someone else I believe ... don't quote me as Im not 100%) have new balls coming out (conforming). I wouldn't expect to see true new rule balls for at least a season or two. While there are conforming balls out there which meet the current criteria, at least I checked none of them had premium covers which really makes them non relevant. I am sure there will be more whitebox opps which have this in mind coming closer to the 2028 date for when the ball will actually go into play.
  14. I am equally curious to see if Cobra even comes out with a set. Bryson not being contracted with them (now using PING irons) was their big reasoning to even starting them and making them to begin with. I will equally curious to see if Cobra drops the concept to see if anyone else picks it up.
  15. I know we have the LIV/PGA nonsense and golf ball rollback to thank for much of this, but have to shout-out the entire community for all their engagement and activity this month as we are 40ish posts away from 9k! I mentioned this before in the staff slack and I think on the community call, but we have had 1 other December in the history of the forum over 4100 posts (December 2020 with 9100). However back then signups for tests were also counted towards posts and there was over 2k posts for signups. When I was brought on as Forum Director we (Adam and I) had a call about the forum and what we needed and what we should do. Part of that was bring it back to the basics. Get ppl talking and sharing their golf and life everything. Bring back the community feel we had all but most. The fact we can more than double our previous norm for an off-season month just goes to show what this community can be and how great we are. It shows the growth we have seen and that just because many of us can't golf doesn't mean we can't be active here. Bottom line everyone here is awesome and thank you!
  16. Thanks again for everyone who has provided responses. They have all be very helpful and useful... may or may have not already made contact with some of the suggested companies or items which have been suggested The important thing as a reminder is that this is for Forum Member Testing. HQ does all the most wanted testing and for broad range of products (I think I saw previous years driver winners or something along those lines) that is a great idea, but one more suited to them and one we will certainly pass along. We aim to get a broad range of products - golf clubs, technology, golf balls, maybe some training aids, apparel, shoes, golf club parts and much more. There are some incredibly unique and exciting ideas already in the works and scheduled with a lot more to come. Note we also have made a slight shift in there will be several tests that we don't run back to back seasons. While great reviews and opportunities they need provide value to the reviewer, forum and the company. So for products that haven't changed or been added with features we will not be returning to them (yet). Arccos is the prime example as this review came year over year and got extremely stale...this is not what we want at all. We also of course aim to get several new releases for all the major and dtc companies. These are obviously products everyone is interested in and we can look to take advantage of that to get it in your hands. DTC are a very high priority for us and always will be. We love working with these companies and truly enjoy the relationships we build with them. They end up being win, win, wins for them, the community and us as staff. You can be assured that we will see more DTC companies in 2024. As always keep firing away with suggestions and we will keep taking suggestions all year round! Finally geo restrictions - we ask or attempt to get all tests to be worldwide. However this is not the case for all companies and the forum does not have the funding to start shipping golf clubs all over the world. I wish we did, but just not in the cards (yet). For now we work with what works best for the OEM and where they want to market the product to have the greatest impact. So for all those EU, UK and NZ/Australia members shoot me a message with companies in your area and we can see what we can do!
  17. Not sure I follow? I have seen several replies that while great, don't quite hit the mark. This is specific to member testing. Most Wanted and the other data centric testing is done by HQ and their staff as they have those resources. Iron Shaft testing has in many cases been a tough starter with member testing. The cost of installing usually falls on the tester, which not all prefer, and while the Nippon Modus 115 was a good test, we have had several others that have just been really low activity and interest. Drivers and fairways are easier tests to hose and house, while irons members may need an extra set, reshaft their own and is timely. While I prefer that we stay away from comparison reviews (reviews imo should be more standalone with reference points, not comparisons as not everyone has the same equipment), that is what these end up being. What was the current iron shaft, get data and what is the new one, get data and feel and compare. Again I don't love that type of review as it limits the audience. Not to say iron shafts won't happen, but I will admit they are not something we often pursue. With us limiting the number of tests we want to bring higher engagement, newer/unique opportunities and opportunities to the forum that gets a slightly higher level of engagement than what we have seen in the past with iron shafts.
  18. Various bits of site maintenance going on today. Hopefully nothing interrupts your user experience! Just a little house keeping and organizing to help keep things a bit smoother. Notable changes include Forum Re-Organization - Several topics have been merged together to help people place new topics in the correct spot. Prior there were 3 or 4 general spots for something to be placed which lead to a bit of a chaotic placement. Spy News and General Equipment Talk have been merged, Japanese Equipment has also been merged into these. Golf Clubs has been created and merged Driver, Hybrid, Fairway, Irons, Wedges and Putter Discussion. 19th hole is still the 19th hole. General Discussion now contains the Cigar Lounge Threads Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips have all been merged together Contests/Deals etc have been merged into once place Spy's in Comp has been renamed and now is more focused on the VCT Among other changes. We hope that for the brand new users this allows them to find where to post questions easier and makes things more convenient for all. Thankfully with updates to the Search function it is easier now than ever before to find threads and topics and we want to push people to use that more when they can't find something. This is only the start and there is a LOT more to come!
  19. Send me a PM with the confirmation number and I will be sure to get you the donor badge!
  20. Daily Deal: Golf Apparel Shop Get up to 70% off selected styles and an additional 60% off clearance items! GET DEALS HERE!
  21. It was. I can't sleep so I have been watching various golf videos the last few hours and remembered I needed to post this one.
  22. If you love golf and want some pure enjoyment watching one of the most stunning courses I have ever seen this is a video for you.
  23. No egos, what are the yardages for each of your clubs? Are you happy with how things are gapped out in your bag? Do you wish there was more consistency in certain areas and what if any changes could you be making soon to make for either better yardages or better gapping?
  24. A pull is still a pull and will carry further. That is just the nature of that shot and flight characteristics. There will be clubs that are lesser, but could be equally penal in other areas as well. There is always some sort of trade-off.
