  1. Today was a good day. First hole in one ever. 50° Cobra King wedge from 120 yards. Hit just past the hole and spun back in. Shot 73 to tie my lowest round ever. Won my match 8 and 6.
  2. First hole in one ever thanks to my Cobra King F9 Black 50° wedge. 120 yard shot that landed just past the hole and spun back in. You guys are in for a real treat with these Cobra clubs! Whoever gets the first hole in one during the challenge has my complete support!
  3. So who's going all in on the Bryson challenge this summer? Put on as much weight as you can to hit it as far as humanly possible. Anyone can dress in orange like Rickie, but can you put on 30 pounds to smash it like Hulk?
  4. Are the MIM wedge players going to be able to try out the new MIM Black wedges that were on the main site today? I absolutely love my regular King Black wedges from last year and have zero thoughts about replacing them until I wear out the grooves. Not sure I would ever want to go back to a non-black wedge. https://mygolfspy.com/cobra-king-mim-black-wedge-new-color-new-grinds/
  5. Has anyone booked their fittings yet? Are you having issues finding a place to do a full bag fitting at? Last year I had to piece together things quite a bit. Woods were done at a Golf Galaxy, irons were fit using a Mizuno shaft optimizer at my local course, and hybrids were an educated guess. Even the local Club Champion that opened up last year did not have Cobras in stock at the time (they do now). I've asked my head pro if he would do a Cobra demo day at the course but no dice so far. Hope you all have better luck than I did.
  6. Wow. I head out for a tournament this morning and get back to find over 30 notices about CCC4 posts. Impressive! I'm excited to see how @GB13 and @B.Boston play with their King Forged Tec irons. I still absolutely love my mostly Cobra bag, but I did switch out of the F9 irons pretty quickly after the contest was over. The Woods, hybrids, and wedges aren't leaving anytime soon. My 7 remaining Cobra clubs helped me shoot a 76-76 (gross) this weekend to win my flight by 7 shots (net).
  7. Pretty much. I never said I was a smart man. Why else would I continue to do stupid things on the golf course rather than play it safe and be happy with par each hole?
  8. I still don't have my horse picked for this race but I do have a few favorites in mind. Right now I can't support @B.Boston just based on where he is located and that first post with all the championship rings. @edingc seems like a good pick but he's already got @yungkory and @palvord on his side. I can't jump on a bandwagon like that. @daviddvm and @Headhammer are relatively new to me so their intro posts will be very intriguing. And then there's @GB13. (cricket noises......)
  9. Shot a 76 with a triple bogey yesterday. Was even par through 14 holes (started on the back nine) before my blow up on a par 5. The triple consisted of a fairway bunker, an unplayable lie in the trees, a greenside bunker, and a terrible chip than led to two putts. And no, I don't actually carry a 2 wood. It's just a different driver than I used last year so I tagged it as a 2w in Arccos to save my previous driver's data.
  10. Ale Asylum out of Madison, WI. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Thought this was an appropriate beer for the times. Tastes pretty good too. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. I've played two rounds this year and had a total of six birdies. Luckily all 6 of them have come on different holes so I'm alread 33% done with the challenge. I have a sinking feeling that I'm going to get up to 14 or 15 pretty quickly and then get stuck on those last few holes.
  13. Ouch. For a second there my feelings were really hurt....but then I looked up at my #CobraCONNECT Challenge 3 license plate trophy and felt much better.
  14. For me the C stick was a marginal gain at best. On the plus side that means the regular SuperSpeed sticks and my fitness program have been working great since I really focused on increasing club head speed these last two years. On the negative side it means there are no easy gains left. I think it's time to go into maintenance mode with CHS and look to save strokes elsewhere.
  15. Glad to hear things went well. Hopefully you'll be fully healed up and ready to go for whenever we can convince MGS to have a battle of the Cobra Connect all-stars event.
  16. Golf courses in Wisconsin opened 6 days ago. I played in a scramble on Saturday but today is my first real round. If the scramble is any indication of my current game I may be waiting another few weeks to post a birdie.
  17. Congratulations and good luck to all the testers. The SuperSpeed sticks are an absolute blast and you are all in for a treat.
  18. Watch out for penalty strokes as well. Nothing ruins a good round faster than hitting two shots in the water or OB. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. Hi @Dover Doug, welcome to the forum. There are a few threads already going on that talk about home setups for golf simulators. This thread is for introducing new members that are based in the Midwest so you probably won't receive many responses to your question. Here's a recent thread specifically related to nets, simulators, and mats. MGS is also in the process of testing out some nets and mats so stay tuned to the main site for more info.
  20. Welcome from Pewaukee. This is really a great forum whether you get chosen for testing opportunities or not. Hope you stick around!
  21. Only played a handful of rounds with the 919s last fall but so far I love them. Absolutely zero regrets with the purchase. The Cobras were great clubs but they were just too large for my personal preference.
  22. I went a similar route last summer after the Cobra Connect Challenge 3 was over. I never got along with the King F9 irons and wanted to get something a litle more tailored for my game. Both of my experiences sound pretty similar to yours. I ended up buying Mizuno 919 Forged irons through my local pro shop after both fittings were complete. The 919's came in first place at Golftec and a very close 2nd (to the Ping i500's in retro lofts) at Club Champion. Shaft choice of KBS Tour was also in the top 2 shafts at each place and was my Mizuno #1 recommendation using their shaft optimizer at my local course. Was going through all those different testings a little overkill? Most likely. Was it extremely fun? Definitely. Plus now I have complete confidence that the irons I bought were the right ones for me based on all the different data points and fitters I talked to.
  23. Welcome from another Wisconsin golfer. Now if only the governor would lift our stay at home ban on golf courses...
  24. I'd love to try one of these out but also saw the backorder status on tourstriker.com. It's funny that some brand new ones are selling for $300-$400 on eBay but if you look at the sold listings there are normal $150 sales sprinkled in there from March as well. Guess I'll keep trying eBay and hope they come in stock a little sooner since things seem to be clearing up in China now.
  25. Had takeout from a local place with a growler of Zombie Dust last night. It's crazy how difficult it used to be to find a single bottole of Zombie Dust and now a city of 10k people in Wisconsin had it on tap like it's just another rotating beer. Cheers!
