  1. Agree with both of you. My last two drivers have been Cobra but this looks like a budget brand's attempt at the TaylorMade M5 driver.
  2. I was just typing up a new 2023 goal thread this morning. You beat me to it! My main goals are as follows: 1. Get into the best shape of my life. I'm not looking for a specific weight or strength benchmark; I'm focused on quality of life and being able to do anything reasonable without pain or limitations. I couldn't lift anything heavier than 10lbs for 8 weeks in October and November after donating a kidney to my father (he's doing great now). Being limited like that really shows how important taking care of yourself and your body is. 2. Pass the Certified Internal Auditor exam. I've been doing a form of auditing for the last 15-20 years, but just last year took a role in internal auditing where the CIA exam finally makes sense. 3. Enjoy every round of golf. I know I'll have some great rounds and some absolute sh#t shows out there, but I'm going to try to enjoy at least one thing from every round. 4. Be more active in the MGS forum. I didn't post a ton last year but hope to get back into it more again this year.
  3. You can select what equipment you have and the daily workout will automatically adjust. I already had everything but the swing trainer, but that is the main piece of equipment you'll need. I agree the $200 initially seemed a bit steep. There are options out there though ranging from a $25 resistance band bar on Amazon up to the $230 TRX Rip trainer (which was developed by one of the Golfforever fitness instructors). I bought mine at Golf Galaxy for $160 using Scorecard reward points.
  4. I started the Golfforever program 2 weeks ago and am 10 workouts in. @vandyland hit the nail on the head with the big pros and cons. While I greatly enjoy the golf specific workouts, it does seem a little light if you are used to a more rigorous fitness program. I ordered the heavy fitness band so hopefully that will amp up the intensity/difficulty a bit. If they incorporated a few more heavy intensity workouts this could be a near perfect program. One thing I would add on is the Golfforever support team is fantastic. I bought the training kit from Golf Galaxy and had one of the plastic carabiner clips break within the first few workouts. I emailed them and in less than an hour I had a reply stating they would send better quality carabiners along with a carry bag at no cost. Nice!
  5. Golf Digest picked up on the story as well. It's probably the only time our average little public course will ever make a national golf publication. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/plane-crash-lands-wisconsin-western-lakes-golf-course-three-people-53-dogs-safe Crazy to think that this time last week it was 70° and there were 200 golfers on the course. Things could have been much worse if this would have happened then.
  6. It's currently 30° and snowing here in Wisconsin, but that didn't stop my golf course from being in the news this morning. A plane carrying 3 people and 56 rescue dogs crash landed on the course this morning. Thankfully all humans and canines escaped with only minor injuries. One story mentioned over 300 gallons of jet fuel being spilled, but it sounds like most of it evaporated quickly and the rest settled into a low area where the ground was frozen. Here's the news story from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. A plane with multiple people and over 50 dogs crashed onto the Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee Tuesday morning. Lake Country Fire & Rescue responded to a call of a downed aircraft around 9:04 a.m., according to Assistant Chief Matthew Haerter. The first unit arrived five minutes later to find a twin engine plane on the third hole. The course is at W287 N1963 Oakton Road. Haerter said the plane crashed onto the course, hit a section of trees, lost its wings and spilled fuel as it slid across a water feature on the course and came to rest in another section of trees and snow. The plane was reportedly flying from New Orleans to Waukesha to deliver 56 dogs to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha. Three adults were also on the plane and were assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. Some of the 56 dogs sustained injuries but their conditions were not given. Because HAWS was preparing to receive the dogs at the Waukesha County airport, they were quickly on scene to collect the dogs, and they are being treated at HAWS. The Department of Natural Resources and the Waukesha County Hazmat are on the scene assessing the extent of the fuel spill because it involves a wetland area. No other information was available Tuesday morning on the extent of the spill, but there is not believed to be any danger to the community at this time. Additionally, Haerter praised the efforts of the golf club staff who reported the crash and assisted the passengers on the plane and first responders upon arrival. It is unclear what caused the plane to go down. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
  7. About ready to give up the game after last night's round. I was playing a match against a good friend and started off on fire. Great up and down par save on the first hole followed by back to back 10 foot birdies. On the fourth hole I chunked an iron short of the green on a par 3 only to chip in for my third straight birdie. My opponent's response was something along the lines of "F- you!". Three up after four holes. Fast forward a few holes and I was three under par after 11 and up four in the match. Here are my remaining holes: 12: three putt bogey 13: par 3 chunked wedge for a bogey 14: water off the tee; double 15: woods off the tee; double 16: wrong hole off the tee; bogey 17: PAR! 18: woods off the tee; bogey I ended up losing the match on the 18th hole. Overall my splits were 34-43 for a 77 and feeling like I was run over by a Mack truck. The last thing I said to everyone before I left? "See you Saturday."
  8. Posted this one a few years ago in the #CobraConnect thread but it's still in my display case:
  9. Just noticed over the weekend that Costco is now selling Bettinardi putters. Not a bad deal considering these are still listed at $450 at the Betti website. Anyone planning on getting one and using Costco's great return policy once the honeymoon period wears off? https://www.costco.com/CatalogSearch?dept=All&keyword=bettinardi
  10. Started off yesterday shooting a 76. Spent the afternoon tailgating and watching a Brewers game. Finished everything off with a free Vanilla Ice concert after the game. Nice little day.
  11. I'll throw a dollar on the ball of rage that is Tyrrell Hatton. Hatton is listed as 5'9" 161, but I suspect he's got a little more weight on him than that. He could cut down to lightweight at 155 and do some damage if he could harness that anger. Tiger Woods 15-20 years ago would also make a strong case. Not saying he trained like a real Navy Seal but some of the stuff he went through would definitely give him a leg up on the average PGA pro.
  12. Who wants to test the 48 hour review window first? Hey @GolfSpy_APH I'll give you Alex Smalley for Scottie Scheffler. Let's see if the commissioners are asleep at the wheel. This is a change that seems long overdue. It was always a pain to try and meet everyone's needs in such a short amount of time. Thanks for the thankless job of being our commissioners @Berg Ryman, @STUDque, and @Undershooter.
  13. Just picked up a Project X EvenFlow Riptide CB shaft to go along with my standard Riptide shaft. When I was removing the pre-installed grip I noticed the manufacturer's sticker references it being a small batch shaft. The only problem is the shaft itself is not labeled as small batch. Any idea what's going on? I can't imagine it's that difficult to print a shaft specific sticker. Sorry for the terrible picture quality. The label stuck to the grip tape and it's kind of hard to see. All other data referenced on the sticker (46", Counter Balance, 60g, 6.5 flex) is correct. And here's the actual shaft. And for comparison's sake my small batch regular Riptide shaft with Small Batch label clearly showing.
  14. Decided to also list this on the Bay and drop the price here down to $1500. Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see updated pictures!
  15. In a perfect world the testing would also be double blind so there wouldn't be an pre-conceived notions about the driver the tester is being handed. See a red face and know it's the new Stealth model? I'm going to swing out of my shoes to see how fast these crazy ball speeds can really get. While the MGS test is not perfect it is the best thing out there right now for the average consumer who won't take the time or money to get properly fit.
  16. ESPN reported he's planning on coming back to the Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill in March. Seems like this is case of podcasters looking for clicks/listens with wild speculations. https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/33290304/bryson-dechambeau-looks-smack-reports-skipping-all-pga-tour-events
  17. Really cool update. At first glance everything seems pretty simple. The only question that came to mind is how often you would like people to update their handicap? Do you want it updated every time it changes; once a month, or just whenever there are large moves in either direction? Thanks!
  18. Hatton had the best comment to Morikawa when he was getting frustrated: "Throw it. It doesn't make you a bad person."
  19. Love me some Cobra but I just don't see the wow factor in this year's release. Forum members obviously know the benefit of getting fit and trying to be brand agnostic, but where's the story that's going to get the average Joe or Jane into your big box retailer to try it out? Seems like they have a huge marketing opportunity on their hands leaning into Bryson and Berkshire setting all kinds of personal best ball speeds with the LTDx driver. Maybe they are waiting for the spring schedule to kick into high gear and for Bryson to get back from Saudi Arabia?
  20. Anyone willing to sell a 1st or 2nd rounder for FAAB? I'd also throw in a 6-8 rounder as well.
  21. Posted this in the trade block but if anyone wants to trade a 2nd or 3rd rounder for a multitude of late round picks let me know. Willing to trade my 4,5,6,7, and/or 8th round picks.
  22. That's awesome they seem to be working for you already. Imagine how much they could improve once Mevo and Garmin change their specific coding to recognize the balls in the future. It will be interesting to see the overall durability of these. I started last winter using my regular ProV1x gamer balls but ended up switching to Titleist Practice balls after splitting a few of the ProV's. Thanks for sharing your results along the way!
