  1. Usually multiple rounds with the same ball. Just had my first hole in one and I am almost embarrassed at how the ball looks in its display case. Almost. After 58 years of trying I was finally blessed and am off the snide.
  2. I own 5 pairs of Footjoy icons and 2 pairs of Footjoy Tour Dryjoys. Looking to join the latest century as my playing partners say I am nuts due to the weight etc. Play about 200+ rounds a year in AZ so I am worried about durability. Saw Code chaos received decent reviews. Looking for stability with comfort.
  3. Our Club provides wooden tees and unfortunately people abuse it. New tee every hole and leave it laying around. Terrible for the mowers and I'm sure there is a cost associated with the waste. I use a Martini tee for the driver which I thought I would never use. Have had the current one in play for over 6 months and I play 4-5 times a week. Lucky to be in AZ. Bought a bag of the short wood tees as I don't have to push so deep in the ground to get the correct height on par 3's. Last a couple rounds before they chip and need to be replaced.
  4. I went Ping in AZ to get fit for a 7 wood and they did a ball fittng while I was there. Was put into ProV1x, Chrome Soft X, and Srixon Diamond. Game the ProV1x already but tried a sleeve of the others and could play either without issue. Slight changes in flight windows and wind impact but for myself, but not being on tour, no real performance results.
  5. Add me to the list of believers. G425 7 wood with Tensei orange 75 gram stiff shaft. Versatile and lands soft. 3 of the par 3's at home course are between 175-200. Bought it just for them but now use it more frequently than I thought. Can't hold a long iron like I can this club. Would highly recommend giving one a try.
  6. Rider here. Two fake knees and the Arizona heat make it tough when playing 5 days a week. Wish I could walk and try to do a bunch during the round but to be honest I consider that riding. Numerous courses here have a large distance between green and teen that make it difficult as well.
  7. Sales rep days ball is more like TP5 than ProV1. Sold out at retail store in Phoenix. 20+ dozen arriving this week. Looking forward to playing a few rounds. $39.99 is much better than $63 a dozen. Update- played this ball today. Not close to a ProV1. Spins a lot off driver but wedge shots lack both feel and spin. Decent fighting and fair of the putter face. Nothing great. Will pay the difference for what I consider a premium ball. Would play Titlest, Bridgestone, or Srixon before this. With last year's models going on sale you can almost get them for the same price.

  9. Been volunteering out there the last 12 years. Greatest show on turf! Been working with ShotLink and it is amazing how the data is now gathered and disseminated for the fans and the betting public. I always try and avoid Saturday though. Too many of the wanna be Scottsdale beauties out there thinking they are going to meet and marry a player. Glad the weather cooperated as well!
  10. Too hot to wear pants in AZ. Have a couple pairs of white shorts I love but tough to keep clean. Right pocket where tees and ball marker are stored always gets discolored. Nice thing is they really go with any color shirt.
  11. Good to know about participation. I enjoy reading the content and share with my playing groups but was not aware I could help myself in the quest to become a tester for the few items I apply for. Thanks for the info!
  12. I would like the "D" at the heel not on the toe. Also custom initials that could be engraved and colored. Looks really sharp though. Keep it up!
  13. Love Footjoy spiked shoes. Traditionalist I guess but afraid to pull the trigger on spikeless. Some tour guys still using metal. Need to get a pair of spikeless and put them in the rotation to see how they work with my ugly swing.
  14. You get what you pay for. For a midweek game with the fellas they are playable, for anything other than that, premium is premium. Single digits can tell the difference and consistency of quality matters. I scuff them up before I lose them.
  15. Different for pros and Amateurs. Read an article where after 75-100 rounds you can lose 50% of your stopping power. A shot releasing 16 ft will now be 24 ft away. No great shakes for us hacks but when it impacts your livelihood it is a big deal. Speith rotates out every few months due to rounds and practice. Not in my budget.
  16. I have a Bushnell tour v5 and replaced the battery once last year. Live in AZ and played about 250 rounds. Had a Leupold prior to that and got about the same amount of battery life. Like both of them but Bushnell was a little cheaper when it was time to replace.
  17. I agree working your way back. Most tee shots will be within 10 yards of each other. Launch and spin characteristics and feel with irons and of the putter would interest me the most. Seems like they have Prov1 and the Prov1x already figured out. I would wager they are trying to get feedback on left dot or dash from amateur golfers to see what type of production they will need. Everyone loves something new but will it be playable for the masses.
  18. Ordered a set of the i210's, par spec loft with alta stiff graphite and it took about 11 weeks. A little disappointing but they quoted 12 when ordering.
