  1. My epic cracked on the bottom earlier this year. I called Callaway myself and they replaced it with a Callaway epic flash. Like FYD said, most of the big name companies will take care of it, my buddies TM cracked and they did the same thing. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. As promised I will keep this alive. It kills me to say, the F9 driver is out of the bag. I’ve replaced it with a M3, more to come on that. The rest of the Cobra lineup is still in the bag, along with the bag. I don’t foresee anything else leaving anytime soon. As I’ve stated before, the driver and I just drifted apart, don’t know why. If I had to guess I just lost confidence in it, without confidence no club sticks around. Maybe after a little separation I’ll give it another shot. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. Still hacking away with F9s. Shot a 77 today with 2 doubles, par 72. Had 3 birdies, in a row, which I’ve never done before. Trending handicap is 8.6 now!!! Still struggling with the driver, but the 3 wood is amazing off the tee. I’m loving the Cobras, but I’m giving a lot of credit to being fit for my clubs. Some leaves are starting to fall, that just means season is coming to a close. I’m still gonna keep this thread alive. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. A price would help. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. I’m still grinding with the speedbacks. It has finally happened, my trending handicap is 9.3!! I’ve waited so long to be a single digit. My driver is still hit and miss, if it wasn’t for that, I could see me in the low 8s for sure. I feel like I’m in the same boat as Bucky, on the LM I was swinging 90-95%, on the course I’m trying to be more conservative and only swing 80% or so. Might need to go from a 6.5 to a 6.0, I’ll keep tinkering and we’ll see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. Well, for the time being I’ve sidelined my driver. I can put my 3 wood down the middle with 20-25 yards difference. I’ll gladly take the loss in yards if that means playing from the fairway. The season is winding down in my area, maybe a month to a month and a half left. I’ll come out next spring with a vengeance to get my driver playable. I honestly think it’s in my head. I’ll continue to work with it on the range, maybe I’ll get it going before the first frost. I’ll keep you all updated on the progress. If all else fails, I do have a Callaway Epic Flash in the garage [emoji6]. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. So, no I didn’t learn a dang thing. Hit 3-4 good drives to start, then it’s like I forgot everything I learned the other night. Looks like more range time/lessons for the near future. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. Next time I wear my Puma hat and shirt I’ll snap a pic. I haven’t been on here much lately, 10 or so weeks of this challenge will do that to ya. I’ve been struggling lately with my driver, no big secret there, so today I had an impromptu lesson with just my driver. Turns out I was starting my hips to soon and causing me to leave the face open. 2 minutes later, launching them right down the middle. Funny how someone can look at 3-4 swings and tell you one little thing to do that improves everything. Now, can I transfer what I learned tonight to the tee box, we’ll just have to see. 9. Update on my tournament. Started off very steady with 4 straight pars, ended up shooting a smooth 37 on the front 9, two bogeys and one birdie. On the back 9, the wheels came off and I mean off. Ended up shooting an 83, after a 37 start I was disgusted. Took me out of the money by 1 stroke, one stupid stroke. And I forgot to mention my match play tournament starts tomorrow. My first opponent has the same handicap, so don’t have to give any shots. I’ll let you guys know how that goes tomorrow night. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Round one of my club championship played yesterday. Very mediocre 82. Hit 2 tee shots OB. Good news is 81 is leading my flight so I’m feeling good about my chances. I’ll update later tonight. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. A shot looking from the clubhouse to 9 green. It’s a 190-200 yard par 3. OB right, OB left, and OB long. Most people hit short and try to get up and down. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. I’ve thought about not posting this, but I’m pretty proud of it, so here we go. Several years ago my home course was county ran, it was in bad financial shape, and getting ready to close for good. Several members, businessmen, and investors bought it. They divided out 100 shares for people to buy. At the time I wasn’t interested in buying one, wasn’t that interested in golf in general. They have 7 board of directors and 5 on the oversight committee. Recently I was asked if I would be interested in buying a share, I was, so I did. The next month one of the board members resigned, guess who was asked to join the board! So now not only do I own 1/100 of my course, I get to vote on everything. My actual title is “Clubhouse Director” so anything that needs to be done, or happens at the clubhouse, goes through me. Sorry if it sounds like I’m bragging, I kinda am, I’m just so excited. 13. My club tournament is also this weekend. I will be playing 100% Cobra F9s. I’ve gotten so comfortable with them I don’t see me changing to anything in the near future. We have several hovering around scratch, with 3 guys on the + side, my 10.9 will put me in the front of the 2nd flight. Good luck to you sir. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Looking forward to it. I’ll be there in a couple of weeks. It’s a work trip, maybe time for some golf, maybe not. Anytime you’re in the bluegrass, shoot me a message. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. Congrats JohnSmalls. I knew I was leaving something out. I’m so sorry fozcycle how could I forget about my blue blood 2 man partner . Especially after the butt kicking we handed out!! Thank you for helping me take home bronze. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. One thing I forgot, someone asked what is our favorite club. Mine is now the 4 iron off the tee. Used it the last couple of rounds, it’s amazing. Could be the sure go to shot on tight fairways. I should’ve know if it’s good enough for Ricky, it’s good enough for me. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. Ok ladies and gents, my final thoughts, for now. I knew this was going to be a big time commitment going in, let me just say, it’s a huge commitment. There is a lot of things to do, think about, and write about. It’s not as easy as “get new clubs, play a few times, tell everyone what you think”. I really enjoyed every moment of this challenge, from the hecklers to the competitors, it was all great. Now on to the good stuff. Here are my pre-cobra stats. I was actually pretty pleased with my stats at this point. The driving and approach was what I was wanting to improve the most. Here are the final results after the 8 weeks. As you can see every category dropped significantly, with the exception of driving [emoji20]. Let’s just face it, I suck something terrible with the big dog. That is definitely something I have to work on in the off season. I also had a lot of personal best, 22 of them bad boys. The one I’m most proud of is the fastest round. That was during the four club challenge. I was playing by myself, well the wife rode with me, and not another single person on the course. It helped when you only have 4 choices [emoji12]. I’m pretty bummed that all this is over. I’ll always check on this thread before I do anything else. Before I forget have to give a huge thank you to MGS, Cobra golf, and Arccos. There were several good candidates to choose from, and I feel extremely lucky to be considered for this. I want to close by saying the Cobras have a 100% guaranteed spot on this guys cart. From driver to 58* to the bag. My expectations were pretty high for Cobra, and they did not disappoint one bit. If anyone is considering a new set of sticks, please, please give Cobra a shot. Sorry I don’t post a lot of memes or gifs, it’s just not my style. Thank you to all the competitors, and Enrique for keeping me in line this summer, it’s a tough job, or so my wife tells me [emoji23]. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. I have the exact same club, same shaft and everything. I agree 100% with what you have said. Check out this thread for anything and everything Cobra F9 related. #CobraCONNECT Challenge 3 https://forum.mygolfspy.com/applications/tapatalk/index.php?/topic/32002-%23CobraCONNECT-Challenge-3 Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. It ended up costing me points but I played several rounds without Arccos. If I had a money game on the line, I couldn’t concentrate with me phone in my pocket, always checking to see if it recorded the shot or not. I would always make sure I had a couple of rounds in that week for whatever challenge we had, after that, I may or may not use Arccos. Bad thing is, I shot my best round ever using caddie for every shot [emoji23], all but 6 of them. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. How many Sandlot GIFS can there possibly be [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. I’m gonna make a separate post for this. As you know we had to use caddie for every shot. We could play as many rounds as we wanted to. If we disagreed with caddie we could hit whatever club we choose, with a 1/3 stroke penalty for every time. I disagreed 6 times, and shot my all time low, beating my old record by 1 shot. Gross score was a 75, net was 77 after six 1/3 disagreements. At least 3 of the strokes were because caddie was telling me to hit 4 iron on 140-145 yard shots [emoji23]. Rating of 71.10 and slope of 129. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Here we go, last review for the 2019 CobraConnectChallenge3!! Last couple of weeks we have been focusing on Arccos, mainly the caddie feature. I guess I’ll be the first to say, I’m not a fan. The tracking system itself is very nice. I HATE having my phone in my pocket while playing. There have been 4-5 times I didn’t track because I didn’t want the aggravation of my phone in my pocket. Maybe once the link thing comes out, it’ll be better. The thing most people would benefit the most from, distances. I pretty much know the range on all my clubs. That comes from a lot of range time and playing several rounds. I play with several people that think they can hit “x” iron 160 but in reality it’s only 145-150. The smart distance feature is really really close, I’ll give it that. The thing that throws it off for me, I hit 4 iron off the tee or punch shots out of trouble. So there’s such a big discrepancy in distances it don’t know what to make my smart distance. Other than that it’s pretty darn close. My hybrid had some slight mishits on it, so that kinda skewed the average. As you can see pretty big gap between PW and 50*, need to work on that. Having to move the pin on every hole wasn’t fun. Unless the hole was cut dead center, you would have to move it. A button you could push as you’re getting you ball out of the hole would be nice. The putter sensor was all over the place, it would either not pick up a putt, or add a putt, very seldom was it right. I did use my Apple Watch series2 a couple of times, it vibrates when a shot has been detected, that was nice. I would’ve used it every time, but I don’t like wearing a watch as it’s in the way of my glove. This has already been addressed, but, Arccos doesn’t take into account trees. When using the caddie feature on one of my home course holes this is what is says. That’s all fine and dandy but this is what that hole really looks like. With an arrow showing the intended line. Here’s the results from trying to hook it around the trees. Spoiler alert......it didn’t work. Had to take a drop after I flew it 30-40 yards in the woods, at least I found my ball [emoji23] One of the things I’ve really liked, is it showing you what you need to work on the most. The days my driving handicap was high, I would spend extra time on the range working on that, same thing for approach shots, chipping, or putting. You can get out of Arccos as much as you want to, to do so, you really need to do it on a computer using the “dashboard”. I looked at it a time or two, but to be honest, it’s not the most user friendly. In my conclusion, I will probably not be using Arccos in the near future, when the link comes out, we’ll see. For now I’ll use the data I’ve accumulated to work on my game for the rest of my season, another 2-3 months depending. I still say the Cobra F9 Speedback lineup has been key to my made improvements over the last few months. If anyone is considering a whole new bag, or just one new stick, please give Cobra a shot. Here’s one last look, for now, of the amazing setup I’ve been gaming this summer. Thank you MGS for choosing me, IMO, for the most important review of the year. I hope I’ve lived up to your all’s expectations. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me, or ask on the thread. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. New sticks, tracking equipment, being fit, 3 months of competition and I still suck [emoji23] On a serious note, my inconsistency’s in distance. Being able to find my “reliable” distances. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  24. I have used it a couple of times with my Apple Watch 2. Review will tell the rest. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  25. Only thing I change is, take 4 iron out, bend 50,54,58 1* strong, replace 4 iron with a 60 bent to 61*. Other than that I’m set [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
