  1. Well, the definition of futility is responding to your own post...lolAfter a few trips to the range, most of the replacement clubs I bought have been resold and I'm back to my original Wishon 730CL bag. The only ones I kept are the Thriver, 5 wood and divine 9 (in honor of the rev). Absolutely killing the Thriver, if a 70 year old can kill anything. Dead straight 90% of the time, carry about 200. Range distances, we'll see what happens when ducats are on the line. LOL Sent from my SM-N950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  2. Holy sacrilege, Batman. The guys who wear golf shoes to spectator at tournaments are going to crucify you. FWIW, I wear non golf shoes as well. Sent from my SM-N950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  3. Kuerig Dunkin Donuts pod, 18 oz. every morning. Never coffee during the day. Sent from my SM-N950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  4. First of all, most of the Tilly hats look pretty dorkie to me, and I dislike baseball style hats. Due to a recent operation for a malignant melanoma, I've taken an old Panama hat out of retirement. I like it!! Particularly like that it has that lived in look. 5. This is from a guy who posted a couple of months ago that my bag was set. LOL at myself, since I redid my entire bag. I bought a Thriver from Hireko, 460 heavy head on a 43" shaft. A Citation 5 wood, 42" shaft also from Hireko A stock Callaway Divine 9 from Callaway preowned. A set of Cleveland CG 16 pearl black irons, 4-PW. 3 Cleveland Rotex 2 wedges, 52 56 and 60, also pearl black. And if course I resurrected a 20+ year old Natural Golf "Thing" putter with zero degrees of loft. I have more then a dozen putters that I experiment with on my indoor green, and none of them no matter the cost or technology gives me a truer roll and better distance control. 13. Been down with the flu this week, and still suffering the effects. Zero exercise, very little food yet I gained a pound, up to 193. Crap. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  14. Many of the originals were homemade adaptations. I've had a few myself. I believe the first company to market one was Perfect Club, brought to us all by the velvety voiced Peter Kessler on the famous Golf Channel ads. They had an 11* 370cc driver on a 42 1/2" shaft. I bought one back then, and it performed as advertised. Pipeline straight and about 15 yea shorter then a standard driver. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  15. January 1st, 0900 I weighed in at 192. Goal is 175, I'll be posting weekly. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  16. Actually, Thriver is a legitimate golf term. Hireko Golf offers a high head weighted 12* driver on a shorter shaft that they call a Thriver. If any of you have been around in other forums over the years you would have heard the term, so no, it's not the result of over imbibing. LOL My apologies if this group is a bit to young to remember it or better yet comment on it. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  17. It was a term in high use a few years ago, meant to describe an easy to hit and accurate driver. Sacrificing distance for accuracy was a given. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  18. My apologies if this has been hashed and rehashed to death, however I'm curious as to the the thoughts of current active members. Is a Thriver a short shafted driver, or a long shafted 3 wood? Or, something else? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  24. I originally said no new clubs were on the horizon. I stopped in a Golf Galaxy the other day, was browsing in the putter section to kill some time while the bride was shopping in another store. Big mistake. I picked up a TP Berwick putter and stroked a few on the practice green. Jeezus....what a sweet feeling piece of equipment. Distance control was phenomenal, and the balls really held their line. Going back tomorrow, and if that same putter is still there I have every intention of hitting a few more balls for confirmation and buying it for myself.
