After being sidelined all season by medical issues I played once 2 days ago, and yesterday at the range something popped and now my right shoulder is effed up. First time out, medical issues had me sidelined since last summer. Chipped and putted well, no distance at all from the tee. I didn't keep score, however I suspect it was lower then the heat index. I had the pleasure of playing Tavistock in the UK last year, and dogs on the course were the norm. It was a pleasure to see that, and there were absolutely no instances where the dogs were a bother. I really appreciate this thread, OG. As I posted in previous threads, I have lofted hybrids that serve this purpose. Wishon 730CL 36 and 42, to be exact. As a slow swinging 71 year old, they serve me well from 130 and out but especially around the greens. I played the Thomas AT 705 hybrids for a couple of seasons, and one of my playing partner currently plays them. Full disclosure, I'm 70 and Ray is 65, we're happy to get around under 90. Hybrids make long irons obsolete for many golfers, and the Thomas hybrids makes all of our clubs easier to hit. Fat shots aren't as punishing, and aligning the club to the target is a snap with the sight line on the flattened top. The quality is excellent, and they hold up well. Distance is as you would expect. You may not be able to buy a "game", but clubs like this make it possible to buy "a game". I once had a grizzled old golfer tell me that if you're playing bogey golf or worse, play whatever ball you find. My brother shot his lowest score ever, 83, using Nitro balls (orange!) that he picked up for $4.99/dozen at KMart. Previous week it was a 97 with Pro V's that he got as a gift.
