No facebook for me, thanks. This is as close as I'm going to get. I don't know why anybody would give a crap what I'm doing or what I have to say (that's true here too, but y'all are stuck with me anyway!) Anyway, I'm actually pretty fortunate because my son isn't at all concerned with the looks of his clubs, which means he can game that chipper, and won't care what anyone else thinks about it. I'm pretty much the same way, and that's one of the reasons I'm able to seriously consider something like the SSW. You might just inspire me to do it.

Played a course I've never played before. Couldn't do anything with the irons. Putter was decent, the driver was outstanding, and I lost 3 balls to the water by setting up for my traditional fairway wood slice with the new to me Cobra S9-1 5 wood. It didn't slice, but I just don't trust it yet.

Very good. As you may or may not have seen in a couple of other threads I bought my son, who only fairly recently started playing, both a Vokey 54* wedge and an old Dunlop chipper which is not unlike the SSW. (Both at Goodwill for about 2.99 each ) He doesn't really get any practice time, just course time and the chipper is way ahead of the Vokey around the greens for him. He basically uses a putter stroke, right down to the pencil grip he adopted. I've been seriously considering adding something like this to the arsenal, and since I don't get that much practice time, mostly course time, I didn't know if you felt the practice was what was actually making the difference or the club itself. As a lefty, I don't run into those kinds of chippers. I'm going to have to make a retail purchase, and don't want to spend the money if it's not the club as much as the practice. I'm just a cheap SOB.

OG, do you suppose that you could have gotten the same results with some type of "traditional" club if you had put the same amount of time into practicing and doing the same kinds of drills with it?
