  1. This is my first swing back after six weeks. Unfortunately, my body still has not healed (and the doctors have no idea what is wrong), and this will be my only swing for a little while longer. I would like  your opinions on my swing. One thing that is causing me bad shots is my club head is going outside my ball before impact even though my plan is pretty good. It is caused by my hands coming in quicker than they should. Any drills/tips on this? Or anything else you see? Thanks!

  2. Unfortunately, my golf game has been put on hold by an injury. It started a month ago and became much worse with golf. It is in the area of my appendix; however, it is not appendicitis. I have seen four doctors and had an X-ray, ultrasound, bloodwork, CT Scan, and MRI with no results. I am rapidly approaching exploratory surgery. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for staying sharp while dealing with injury? I am able to move for small periods of time before extra pain hits. Right now, I am just putting, but was wondering if there is something any of you have done in the past that kept you sharp?

I’ve played drums for over 30 years, guitar for around 20, and I can play a decent amount of piano.

    I still suck at golf.

Well, I'm not saying it's magical. I am a 1.2 handicap, so I guess I'm talking about a .2 stroke difference which does matter when you play in competitive tournaments.

  4. One thing I have wanted to do for the last couple of years is learn to play the piano. I finally decided to buy a keyboard and learn. After taking a few lessons, I thought of something. Do you think that learning piano will help your golf game? I do, and let me tell you why. The amount of hand-eye coordination needed to read music, and play, is ridiculous, and the amount of left hand strength you need is more than you would think. By learning to use your left and right hands more independently, the hand-eye coordination, and the hand strength, I think it will (slightly) help my golf swing. What are your thoughts? Do you play piano? Do you think it helped you?

No but I wouldn't anyway. Plenty of ways to get data to my coach without manually entering more data.

If you want to make it unique and help both coaches and players then add SG function to it. Players can use it to see their stats and coaches have access to it.

You have proposed numerous apps on here and while I applaud your ambition, from what I have seen they are just different spins on things already being done. It seems like an uphill battle to recreate something already being done and get it to have any traction. I wish you luck.

Thank you. I would agree my other ideas (for school) were spinoffs. This one though is unique enough that I already have three investors behind me, and three coaches testing it. I was just looking for more coaches to test.

I can chat with my coach right now through Skillest. I believe that you can do it through V1 as well.

Can yours allow you (if you wish) to enter your golf rounds for your coach to see? Also, this is focused on the coach mainly. I know for a fact neither of those services offer booking API integration. That will make a world of difference for your coach. I want this to be unique to golf, I know V1 is used for baseball as well. That is why I am asking golf coaches what would help make everything easier for them. The goal is to offer the student premium features while helping the coach stay organized.

Seems like you're creating and advertising a new app on here every week

Haha, many of my projects I've put on here in the past are for school. I am only in middle school, but that doesn't mean I can't sit in and participate in Microsoft and college classes. This one is not for school. It originated from my coach having many organization issues.

Aren't there multiple apps already out there for this?

Sadly, no. There is CoachNow which allows you to share notes and videos, but that is it. This will allow you to chat realtime, it will allow the coach to see your past scores (if you choose to enter them), it will manage the bookings through an API, and much more.

  9. I am working on a CRM service that will make golf instructor's live WAY easier. It would allow them to have chat, booking, management, and student features all at one place. I am wanting a few golf instructors to ask what they would want to see in this, their opinions, and maybe even have them as testers. You might get the end product for free for testing. If you are interested, please PM me. You can find out more at golfcoachcentral.com. Thanks!!

  10. I was playing a tournament early this week, and the arm that my pushcart sits on broke off, so I need a new one. I loved the one I had (Clicgear 3.5+), but it didn't even last two years. Granted I do use it a lot, but for $250, you'd think it would last a little longer. I was looking at the BagBoy Triswivel II or BagBoy Nitron. Before I make a purchase, I just thought I'd ask if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks!

Not asking you to post the drills as you say they are geared to you and what your pro is trying to get you to do. Was only checking because telling you something and having you try to fix it without a drill or drills isn’t good.

With that said and not saying your pro is wrong but being under plane is something the greatest golfers and ball strikers all are under the plane on the downswings and have their hands go out as do their arms.  Here’s some examples talking about it as well as some of the pitfalls of being on plane

I'm sorry, I don't think I explained it well. My club is supposed to be under plane. It is my hand path that should not be. I am trying to get my hands and arms to work more out and rotate with my body rather than using my hands and wrists to get the club to go around the body in the follow through.

Under plane on the takeaway or downswing?

can you elaborate on the horizontal vs vertical  unloading?

what drills did he give you for the two “issues”

Hands are under plane on the downswing, which means the only way to get to the ball is to release my wrists out and not down. Hold the club out in front of you and just moving your wrists make the club go up and then down. That is vertical hinge. Now make the club go left to right. That is horizontal hinge. I am doing too much horizontal and not enough vertical which results in pulls and shanks. As far as drills, I will not put them here because they are very specific to me and my swing history.

I don't get where you got the idea that your angle of attack and downswing are too shallow, and even more so that they are causing you fat and thin shots. I can post slow motion swings of Rory Mcilroy and Sergio Garcia with similar shaft positions to you on the downswing. If anything I'd say (like some of the others that posted) that posture changes are what is causing you problems. They aren't drastic, but over all it looks like your legs have some overactive movement during the backswing (which causes the posture to change), that your back foot gets off the ground sooner than necessary on the downswing and your legs and hips underneath you and towards the target line, and causes your belt line to go from the diagonal at setup to very horizontal at impact.

I got the idea from my coach. I think it might be best to get a second opinion from another coach.

I just listened to the first episode and it was pretty good.  I hope you guys are successful with it although are a ton of podcasts out there already.  I like the Jr golf angle you guys have, I would not focus on that completely but I don't think you are planning to.  Good job.

Thank you so much for listening and your feedback!

  15. A friend of mine and I decided to create a golf podcast called The Perfect Par where we talk about everything going on in the world of golf (similar to NPG). The difference is we are both junior golfers, which means we have a much different perspective. We also discuss what's happening in our competitive careers and give you drills and tips. You can find it anywhere you listen to podcasts or get direct links here: https://theperfectpar.com. Any feedback is appreciated.

  16. Hello everyone, I am struggling with a shallow AOA and a shallow downswing. My backswing is not shallow, but for some reason I shallow the shaft in the downswing. This causes thin and fat shots. I have tried everything you can think of, and since most people's problem is the opposite, I can't find much help online. I do have a swing coach, but he has been shutdown due to coronavirus. Any and all tips are appreciated. Thanks in advance. Here is my swing:

  17. With the COVID-19 virus cancelling all of my tournaments for the next six weeks, and with me closing on a web project, I figured it might be time to treat myself. Ever since I got my Scotty Cameron last year, I've wanted it customized. I feel it adds some personality to the putter. Before I spend a decent amount of money, I just wanted to see if any other Spies had experience with the Custom Shop, and if so, any tips or advice.

    Thanks!

Well, I have an everyday coach for 49.00 per year. I can physically talk to this person everyday during " Office Hours" Where are you buying your "AI" from? IBM or, are you just using the term related to interactive website. I have an old Arnold Palmer training wheel to tell me what to do for a slice. I wish you the best of luck, dont forget data security👍🇺🇸⛳

As for AI, I am using a custom dataset with Google Tenserflow.js. I am currently collecting swing data (I have about 2500 swings right now). It can diagnose and fix over 50 swing issues.

  19. Hey guys, I am continuing work on an online AI swing coach. I am making great progress and was wanting your opinion on pricing. Would you rather pay a subscription fee of $10/month for online swing lessons, AI swing coach, and online AI club fitting, or would you rather pay a one time fee of $5 for an online AI swing coach or AI club fitting? Thanks!
