  1. Post some pics. Did you reach out to the manufacturer to see about a warranty claim?
  2. Changing the weights is super easy, takes probably 5 min to do the whole set. As I higher handicap player I really don't focus on working the ball so I can't comment on how the weights affect that portion but I have noticed that putting the heavier weights in the center and toe has made my typical toe miss less penalizing. My fitter did fit for the weight position and we determined the center position was best for me but after a few range sessions I did end up swapping the 6 & 4 gram weights to move the heavier one to the toe.
  3. Apologies to everyone as work has been insane the last few weeks and I haven't been able to post as often as I would have liked. My league night on Monday went pretty well. I'm definitely hitting these clubs better than my gamers. On 2 different holes I actually had iron shots that dropped and stopped instead of rolling out due to my low launch and lack of spin. This definitely makes a huge difference in my game because my distance is the same or slightly better but without the 15 yards of run I was getting before. Driver game is still a bit off but if I can hit recovery shots like these two it certainly helps. I also went out to the range to mess with the weights a little and I think it's safe to say I'm going to be leaving them where I had them set originally (4-10-6 / H-C-T). To start with, shot shaping on command is not something in my arsenal so I rarely try it and that is mainly because of the inconsistency in my swing. Unsurprisingly the SMS don't fix my swing flaws all by themselves, that said, they did seem to help a little. My Mevo doesn't do side angle or side spin but it was obvious to the naked eye that biasing the weights towards the toe helped stop me from pulling the ball as much. When I swapped the 4 & 6 everything was going to the left so I'm guessing the extra weight out at the toe keeps the face open just that fraction of a second longer to allow me to hit it relatively straight. The only other thing I might try is going to a 4-8-8 set up and see what that does. I really like the swing weight where it is at so I'm hesitant to just throw the 8 in the toe as that will bring them up to D4 or D4.5 and I think that will be too much for me. Anyway, I'm taking my father out for a round today so we'll see how I hit them and I've got league night again tomorrow so hopefully I can post some low scores. My rando partner and I are in second place currently but we're also a week behind the leader so hopefully we pass them once we catch up to the same # of rounds
  4. Heading out soon for another league night with the SMS irons and will report back tomorrow. Can't say I'm at all surprised to see the SMS with such a strong finish in the most wanted results posted today. Lots of contenders in the players distance category and finishing 6th will forgot makes others take notice of the performance these clubs offer!
  5. As I mentioned earlier today I was able to get out for a late afternoon round on Sunday as well as my 9 hole league on Monday night. Sunday was a solid improvement over how I've been playing the last few months and the irons really shone for me. My ball striking was improved and I managed to hit 3 of 5 greens on the par 3s and convert them to pars. First par 3 was #6 and dead into a strong wind, which I underestimated slightly but still managed to get decent distance out of. With my Srixon gamers I averaged about 155 with my 7 and I've been longer with the SMS which is consistent with what Arccos tracked. Very similar situation on #13, still into the wind but slightly across this time and managed to still hit it equal to my gamer 9. Things on Monday were even better where I shot a 42 for my low 9 of the year so far. Irons and woods were both dialed in at the simultaneously for once. Managed to score well on both par 3s on the front which is an extreme rarity for me since they both always get the best of me. Highlight was definitely #6 where I managed to hit the green and drain a 40 footer for a bird. I followed that up with an excellent drive on #7 and the SMS gap wedge to pin high. The green has a wicked slope to it so I was happy to lag my 12 ft putt to tap in distance and take my par. It's amazing how much more fun golf is when you have confidence and score well. I'm hoping this is a turning point for my season and my long game can keep up with the performance I've been getting out of the SMS irons so far because they are what has been carrying me up to this point. Still trying to figure out the plans for the weekend but will probably be at the par 3 or to the range to do a final head to head with my Z585s and my Mevo. Might also play around with the weights and swap the 10 gram into the toe and see what kind of effect it has.
  6. Nice round! Been crazy busy with work the past few weeks but managed to hit a few decent shots in my Monday night league that I should be posting about later tonight. Maybe I can get to the par 3 this weekend but outlook is 50/50 since it's the final week of soccer and have away games both days.

  9. Don't own one, but that seems like an extraordinary amount of data. The only thing I can think of that would generate that much data would be uploading the videos. As far as will it work without internet, the easiest way to find out would be to disable internet services and see if it functions. You could also see if your range has wifi and try to jump onto that. Otherwise I would see if you can disable video in the settings, personally I don't see a ton of value in recording every single shot. If you know what your swing fault is that you're trying to correct you can record a few at the beginning, check the video and then come back to it later in the session and see if you've corrected it.
  10. The reason for the price jump seems to be that they added most/ all of the fitness & health tracking things from there regular smartwatch line-up. Obviously depends on what you're looking for but this is arguably a better value than the S62 was. $500 for an S62 that really only works for golf or $700 for the S70 and it has pretty much all of the features from their Fenix smartwatch line that sells for $500-1000. It takes it from a watch you can only wear golfing to a watch that can be your every day watch and provide similar features to the apple watch
  11. I want to see a head to head of this vs. the Mevo+ pro package. They seem to line up pretty well, big difference being that skytrak loses angle of attack but i'm hoping the optical ball tracking means the spin numbers are better. That is a trade-off I'd be willing to make I think.
  12. Any update on when you will be receiving yours? Seems like there are almost no "in-hand" reviews of this yet which is surprising. I would have expected Skytrak to send some out to golf influencers / reviewers to do a product intro / review before they start landing in the hands of retail customers. It seems like so much of the basic information on this is still missing despite it supposedly being shipped to customers any day now.
  13. So it's 6/1, and these were shipping "Late May" has anyone gotten their hands on one yet? I'm still having a hard time finding out exactly what stats this provides and what ones are measured vs. calculated. They are very clear about having added the radar and getting head speed, path and face angle but it's not clear which of those are calculated vs. measured. I want to see a nice chart of every data point it provides, kind of like flighscope has on the MEVO+ page where it is very clear what data is being given. Assuming this comes close to matching the accuracy of a GC3 then this is probably everything I have been waiting for. $3k price and only $100/yr subscription and good outdoors meaning I can set this up on my patio with my net and mat and start practicing at home instead of the range.
  14. I'd like to know Tony's opinion on how heavily influenced the results of most wanted testing are impacted by the specific group of testers in a particular year. Also if anything can be done to minimize their impact other than to just have a larger tester pool which I understand becomes logistically impossible. The reason I ask is because if I remember correctly we sometimes see big swings in the results for some clubs. I think one year TSi2 finished as runner up to most wanted and then in it's second year finished middle of the pack behind several of the drivers it had handily beat the year before. Likewise, I think G425 (maybe 410?) finished middle of the road in it's launch year and then won most wanted in it's second year. Results like that make me believe that the testing is just a reflection of the group each year. I love MGS and appreciate the data driven nature behind the testing but at some point it starts to not be any better than the anecdotal methodology of Hot List or similar if one year the group scatters shots all over the face and a higher MOI driver wins and then the next they're wearing a hole in the center and all of a sudden a low spin driver is the best.
  15. Have to agree with this 100%. I actually switched from Ping G400 to the Z585 2 years ago because of the Most Wanted scores of those clubs and was amazed by the feel. These SMS irons feel at least as good if not better. I can't be certain if it's just the Edel heads or a combination with the steelfiber shafts, but I can tell exactly where I'm striking the ball and good shots feel amazing and poor ones are not nearly as punishing as my Z585s were with the Modus 105 shafts. It's the best of both worlds so far.
  16. I also forgot to make a post but I got my first impressions posted to the main review on Sunday night so please check them out here if you haven't already!
  17. So I did end up getting to the range Saturday and made some progress working through my early season swing issues. My long game is in shambles but the irons are a bright spot. I've been striking the ball better than I finished last season and am seeing a better / higher trajectory and according to my mevo slightly more distance (<5 yards) compared to the Z585s. I'm going to try and get out to the par 3 for a few rounds just so I can see how the irons perform on their own without being put in bad spots from my errant driver or the negative effect it has on my mental game. I also got out for 27 holes yesterday. This was the first round of the season with my neighbor and we were joined by his old friend from HS. While I was practicing my chipping before the round, I returned to the carts to see the two of them admiring the clubs in my bag. They both loved the looks and were curious about the weights and compared them to PXG irons. I explained a bit about the weights being movable depending on your swing and what you are trying to achieve with your ball flight. They were definitely intrigued but also a little taken back when they looked up the price. My neighbor plays Sub70 irons that he was fitted for at their HQ so I think he was expecting something similar since they are both small boutique club manufacturers, I think it's safe to say that a new set of SMS irons are not going to be in his budget. As for the round, I continued to struggle off the tee but did have quite a few great shots with the irons. I hit a few greens and actually ended up sailing 3 because these clubs definitely go farther than my gamers when I hit them pure. This happened on a few holes where I had a 5 iron go about +15 yards twice compared to normal and a 6 iron that went for an extra 12. Another item that I've been keeping an eye on is the 4 iron in this set. Given my handicap and all the general advice out there of why hybrids are better, I haven't carried a 4 iron in about 20 years. However, I have always hit that hybrid (there have been a few) like junk so I took this test as an opportunity to give a 4 iron a go and have actually been been getting some good results. Before, I would hit the hybrid so bad that I usually wouldn't because I'd be better off hitting the 5 iron but now with the SMS 4 iron, I've gotten more consistent with it and my worst shots are now on par with hitting a 5 iron and the good ones are right on target with proper gapping. I actually smoked the club off the tee about 230 yards which is 30 more yards than I ever hit my hybrid according to Arccos so I will definitely let this experiment play out and see if I really am better with a traditional 4 in the bag.
  18. I'm trying to convince my son to go to the par 3 today but I think we're going to end up at the range. I've got a round scheduled for Monday morning because it's the only open time I have. Too much travel soccer this weekend

  20. Thanks Titleist & MGS! Here's hoping I make better pics this time than the last few major contests Cut line +3 Spieth will be E after two rounds
  21. L to R correct? Yeah Evnroll doesn't sell those grips anymore which is eventually going to be a problem for me. I've got one in OK condition and another reserve I bought last summer from them but pretty sure they are long gone now. I've got some of the old gravity grips but those aren't exactly the same and are heavy so it changes the swing weight.
  22. Congrats testers! I tested the Maxfli balls back in 2021 and came away very impressed. I ended up driving over to the Tour X as my main go to ball because the performance was solid and the value was unbelievable when you catch them on sale. Here's hoping the new balls are even better!
  23. Thanks. Just realized I quoted the wrong post. Meant to tag @Subdiver1 as he had the evnroll in his intro pics.
  24. Congrats testers, definitely looking forward to reading what you have to say as I'm sitting here looking at their site and debating on picking up the variety pack
