  1. There is a group of us that has a trail card, we are trying to find a weekend to get up there. I’ll definitely hit you up if we ever iron that out and get up there. Heard the Shoals is a good one.
  2. Not that I’m seeing. Finished the first round at E
  3. Well I hope you don’t have Matthew Wolfe also, who just WD from Farmers citing a hand injury.
  4. I’m still compiling data with hitting inside/outside with net and then at the range. The weather has made things really tough to be outside consistently. Hoping to get a session in with the trackman in the next couple weeks and see how my gapping compares. In terms of just practicing, I have really enjoyed getting to practice what a 40, 60, 80, and 100 yd shots feel like with my wedges and trying to consistently hit those. Some of the courses I play at allows for me to try and bomb my driver down or cut a dogleg to be 100 yds and in. This is one area I’d really like to improve on.
  5. I would think so. All depends on the ownership of the players already. There are a few names already on 3-4 teams that will get taken, but if you submitted for players with only 1-2 team ownership, you have a decent chance at getting those... It’s also a game of how much money do you put into trying to pickup these players. If you decide to go low and don’t get any of your guys, you can just pick up players starting Tuesday morning after the wavier process clears.
  6. Looks like everything was fixed with the waivers. I went in and was able to submit claims for the 2 guys I want. It’ll process on Tuesday.
  7. I tried adding to my claim list and now they are on my team. Confused how this is working. I didn’t know if it’s “holding” on my team if I successfully get them or not. I’ll drop back to the pool if I need to.
  8. 85 43/42 1 birdie / 8 pars / 6 doubles : / 10 FIRs, 8 GIRs It was an all or nothing round for me. Wind was blowing 15-20+ making the club section more difficult or me. A couple bad lies and errors off the tee turned a good round into an average one. Greens were super fast and not holding anything, made for some fun chips/putts downhill to the hole... Overall, happy to be able to play during the winter and continue to improve my game.
  9. Thanks for setting this up guys. Looking forward to it!
  10. I got a push cart for Christmas. It was a sweet Amazon Prime deal. I’ve used it twice so far, I’ll write up an unofficial review on it eventually as I haven’t heard many people talk about this one. Love the seat that comes with it.
  11. 84 43/41 I played my regular course today with @TBS and others. Weather was perfect with high 50s and sunny. Outside of 2 holes today, I couldn’t get my putter going. I had 4 3 putts on the back 9 for bogey. The first putt for all of those was over 40 ft, but still no excuses. I had 50% in GIR and FIR. Just an average day there, but I didn’t find the driver on the back and hit or was right off of every fairway. No birdies, but I did have a nice 25 footer fall from the fringe in for par.
  12. I’d love to join if spots are open.
  13. Both of y’all need to stop putting that thought into my head... It hasn’t happened yet, hah. Let’s keep it that way. I’ll report back with my bruise when it does happen though.
  14. I think there is a thread on the US courses for potentially more information than what I’m about tell you. One of my home courses is an RTJ. I have a couple buddies that we like to take weekend trips and visit them. Below are some that you can bunch together and do in a day or two. 1) Oxmoor Valley (my home course) and Ross Bridge. These are within 5 minutes of each other. Ross Bridge is a must and a stand alone course that used to feature a Champions Tour tourney. Maybe try to play a course from OV and then RB. Definitely doable in one day if you’re up for playing 36 holes? 2) Capitol Hill has 3 really cool 18 hole courses. Can’t go wrong with any of those. The Judge might be my favorite, but is the toughest. Not too far of a drive is Cambrian Ridge and Grand National from this one. Grand National has held a PGA tour event on its Lakes Course. 3) North Alabama has two locations (The Shoals and Hampton Cove). I haven’t been to these yet, but I heard the Shoals is worth it. 4) If you go down to the coast, there are two locations there as well: Magnolia Grove and Lakewood Club. Lakewood is the one you’d want to go to if you had to pick. I wouldn’t bother venturing out to Silver Lakes. It doesn’t compare to some of these others. Top 5 courses I’ve played, in no particular order, I’d suggest you play: 1) Ross Bridge 2) Capitol Hill, Judge Course 3) Capitol Hill, Legislator Course 4) Grand National, Lakes Course 5) Oxmoor Valley, Ridge Course I haven’t played the Shoals courses or Lakewood, or I’d put those on this list too as I’ve heard great things.
  15. I have 8 ft from ball to net. Then an additional 6-8 ft from Rapsodo to ball. Still tinkering with distance from Rapsodo to ball. See below.
  16. Hah it does look like it. This range has 4 tiers (3 grass, 1 mat) and I’m on the top today. I’ll take a picture next time I’m there. It is just very downhill. I’ll be mainly hitting on this range and another that’s more flat to uphill.
  17. @Rchang@StrokerAce I was out on the range today and got to use the Rapsodo for the first time outdoors. I’ve been mainly using it indoor. Is it just me or did the ball flight tracer the video projects seem a lot lower than what the actual ball flight was? Starting to compile data. Hoping to have some more good weather days to where I can use it outside. Just for kicks and giggles. Here’s a ball flight tracer that must have gotten distracted by a bird. This one was dead straight.
  18. Seeing all this spotlight on Charlie Woods, it’ll be interesting how much Tiger tries to protect Charlie from the spotlight. I get it, you’re the son of the GOAT, but how much does Tiger protect Charlie from the media the older he gets? I mean he’s 11 years old and the media is already saying “the future of golf is in great hands” and “when will he win his first Masters”. Charlie’s swing is nails and looks great, I just hope it doesn’t backfire.
  19. Checking in to see if we got some Alabama guys in the forums? I’m based out of Birmingham. I play a lot with fellow MGS member @TBS. Always looking to play with others.
  20. One of my 2020 goals was to lower my handicap below 10. I’m currently sitting at a 5.5. Mission accomplished. I hit a funk in late 2019/early 2020 and had to get some lessons to fix my grip and steep swing at impact. Continual work in progress, but here are some goals for me for 2021. 1) Continue to work on my swing. I struggle to hit my 4i-6i consistently. Shallowing out and club position at impact is a focus. 2) Consistently break 80. I have averaged a round in the 70s maybe 1 out of every 6 rounds right now. 3) Raise my GIR percentage. I’m a good scrambler and can get up and down, but I don’t like to rely on that. 4) Stay in better shape/injury free. I finally was able to get a push cart after everything was sold out during the beginning part of Covid. Outside of a couple months with heat of the summer, I’ll be walking as much as possible. Bonus: get rid of my hand me down Adams woods and get fit for a hybrid/wood combo.
  21. 87 44/43 4/18 GIRs, 8/14 FIRs, 31 putts. 2 birdies Had a good time walking RTJ Oxmoor Valley with @TBS and others. Weather is perfect right now, just wish the course would drain a little better. Struggled with the irons on this round. Felt like my ball had a mission of finding every fairway/green side bunker possible. Driver and putter were fine. Onto the next.
  22. Noted. Will be intriguing to see how easy it is to breakdown the data when I got a lot of shots compiled.
  23. Some quick thoughts and initial goals of mine for this review... 1) how accurate will the Rapsodo be hitting inside into the net compared to outside into the net or on the range. Compare mat vs grass. Some people have expressed that the Rapsodo doesn’t pick up their actual distance for their Driver. 2) Compare gapping accuracy from a Rapsodo and Trackman. Disclaimer: this all depends on how I’m hitting. Will try for multiple sessions to compare. Also use this gapping to know what I want when eventually replacing my woods with a hybrid/wood combo. 3) Ease of setup on course. How quickly can I get it setup without disrupting the pace of play. Might have to play a round by myself instead of with my regular playing partners. 4) I noticed on the app that you can play closest to the pins/longest drive with your buddies. Will test that out. 5) Have fun with the shot tracer on the range, but also on the course. 6) Data retention. Ease of access, breakdown of clubs, history, etc.
  24. I guess I could have tested the shot tracer in the dark! Nah nevermind, it is too cold for me down here in Alabama (yes, I know it doesn’t compare to anyone north of me, I’m just a wimp with the cold)
