  1. Took it back for more short game practice. Again it’s good on chop shots. The spin is good. Feel is a bit soft. Putting is the main issue. It’s just too soft off the putter for my preference. The softness leads to distance control issues for me. I was starting to get a better feel for it after this round of practice. I will be using it on course again tomorrow, and will see if some of the issues I had first round are still there.
  2. Finally got mine in yesterday. I practiced some chipping and putting before I took it on the course today. What I saw in practice carried over to the course. It’s got a soft feel, and a little less spin than I’m used to. The biggest issue I had with it in practice and on my round today is distance control with putting. I found that sometimes it would be springy and other times like mush. This ball seems very low spin. Off the driver I had a couple that just dove down out of the sky. That did roll out to be near my usual total. Off the irons the ball was pretty normal, but I did catch a couple jumpers. Wedge approach shots were pretty good. I was happy with the amount of spin I was getting there. Overall my first impression was pretty meh. I suppose if it is the new AVX it did what it’s supposed to do. It’s definitely not a ball for me. I will give it some more short game practice and another round to see, but today it only made it 12 holes before I changed back to my normal gamer.
  3. Apex pro irons with graphite shafts. I finally stoped fighting with my PXG driver, and now I think it’s time to do the same with the irons.
  4. Trying not to read too much so I can form my own opinion on the ball, and not have any expectations. Was supposed to get them today, but they got pushed back a couple days. Hopefully they come rayon Wednesday so I can get some short game prayin before putting it in play on Thursday.
  5. Mine should finally be showing up on Monday. I won’t be posting pictures or anything since that’s been done enough already. Looks like we’re getting a new AVX prototype so that will be interesting for me since I don’t ever play that ball, but guess I will for a couple rounds. I normally play Kirkland so will be interesting to see if there’s flight differences since it’s supposed to be less spinning. I sometimes wonder how much the ball testing fone with a robot really matters in real world situations.
  6. Finally got rid of the PXG gen5 driver I’ve been fighting with for over a year now, and picked up a Rogue ST Max. I haven’t been one to blame equipment, but the first range session suggests that the PXG could have been at least part of the problem.
  7. Looks like I’m going to be late to the party. FedEx has them coming on the 13th for me. The joys of living in Hawaii! At least I’ll have some of the best weather for the testing.
  8. A different driver. I’ve had my current PXG gen 5 for a bit over a year now, and I can’t find any consistency with it. I’ve practiced bounces with, but can’t seem to get it to work for me. Changed the shaft recently to no avail. I don’t want to blame the equipment all the time, but at some point it’s got to be part of the problem right?
  9. I didn’t realize it was only a sleeve. Makes since now though sending out 85 dozen would be a bit much.
  10. Looking forward to the testing. I like how they just say test on them. Tracking says I will be getting mine on Thursday, and am playing on Friday so I’ll be seeing how they play then. Depending on what time that get delivered I may get some practice in with them first. It will be fun and I’ll keep you updated on how things are going.
  11. Didn’t know they did prizm golf prescription thanks for the heads up.
  12. I play with pretty strong (10-15 mph) wind on regular basis here in Hawaii. I’d say the quality of the strike of the ball has an influence on how much the wind will affect it.
  13. I’ve been play the Kirkland for a bit now since I stocked up when they were closing out the v2 for $20. Probably go back to the premium balls I find when they’re home.
  14. I have a bit of PXG equipment. Ironically the only one thing I would replace is the driver. I went from gen2 to gen5 last year, and it was a good upgrade for my dispersion , but I’ve always felt like something is missing distance wise with doth drivers. The irons and wedge I have are great, but did not like the hybrid at all. So no different than any other oem. Some things are good others not that impressed with. I am interested to see what kind of results those that try this test get.
  15. Fun quiz thank you. I don’t have much knowledge on the history of the LPGA, but it is my preferred golf to follow.
  16. Great coverage of the event. I hope more people start to pay attention to the women’s game. I have preferred it to the men’s for a few years now.
  17. I’m going to go against the grain here and say that in really those are really the only things you need to know. There’s so many variances in the game that using averages don’t weigh as heavily.
  18. I have 36 of the v2 left since I stocked up when they were $20. Sounds like the v3 is a bit different. Hopefully it still spins as much off the wedges because that’s what I have liked about the ball.
  19. I prefer to take it out. There’s the experiments by MGS and others that say it helps, but I have seen it knock more out in the wild. Like @Swood1994it makes the hole look bigger. There are situations where I like it left in, but overall it’s out for me.
  20. I’ve watched pretty much all of it. It’s funny that some are talking bad on Lexi. She has actually played better than slang has, and I’m a Kang fan! The Thai team is looking sharp.
  21. I haven’t seen this from them. I just played two rounds using the same Kirkland ball and had nothing like this happen. I just bought two packs since they’re only $19.97 right now so hopefully I won’t comes across this problem and it’s just a bad batch.
  22. The PXG setting is 3* flat. The small + is .75* added loft and the large + is 1.5*. To take off loft it’s the same amount subtracted loft with the ~ settings.
  23. It’s just sensationalism by the announcers. It’s done with constantly thought out every broadcast.
  24. Rory must think it’s one of the no cut events.
  25. Didn’t get to watch much of the first two days because of the time it’s on, but I’ll be able to watch all of the next two rounds. I’m hoping Jenny Shin can get a breakthrough victory here or Lilia Vu. Be fun no matter what and happy the LPGA is back, and the start of KLPGA in April.
