  1. I think you’ll find you’re not alone with this problem. Almost every time I go to the local hold shop and hit drivers on the simulator I struggle as well.
  2. Dunes at Maui Lani is my home course, and it’s a good value course. Usually some good deals on golf now for it as well. Waiehu the muni course is great, but difficult to get on early so if you don’t mind playing later in the morning or early afternoon I highly recommend it. Pukalani is up the Miya little so it has nice views. Maui Nui is the one to avoid. If you have any other questions let me know.
  3. Have fun! That’s a trip me and my wife are planning to do sometime. With a trip up to St. George from there for a Sand Hollow round.
  4. Not even sure they have been shipped yet since we had to refill our the form. I’m in Hawaii and will be the last to receive them and.
  5. Kirkland. I try others, but for $15 a dozen there’s nothing else that can meet the performance to dollar ratio.
  6. Thank you @tony@CICand @PhilM75072 for the information.
  7. Intro Hello fellow golfers. I was recently part of the Titleist white box testing as well, and looking forward to the Callaway ball test. I’m 49 and live in Hawaii, probably what I get to do two ball tests in a row, and play at least twice a week. Along with practicing nearly every day as well one would think I d be better than a 10 handicap, but I love the self sabotage on a couple holes a round. With this test compared to the Titleist, which just required a form and some posts, this yeast will involve a more comprehensive review. I use the Kirkland ball, and have some Maxfi Tour X that I will be comparing them to. I will leave the number comparisons to others, as I will focus more on ball flight, and short game performance as that is the street of my game, and spend the most time practicing. I will be updating this post with first impressions and full review, along with posting what I’m seeing as the testing goes on. First Impression The Chrome Tours have a premium look and feel..They have a good urethane feel to them. The branding and model name are printed on the ball in the same way as the Chrome Softs. The triple track is also printed on the same as well(duh). As expected the X version has a more click of a sound to it. I’m sure there’s some subtle changes to the dimple pattern, but I wasn’t able to notice much difference. The cover feels soft and kinda tacky. Overall it feels premium in both appearance and feel.
  8. Overlay of the dispersion is what I’d like to see for each club. I’d also like to see a cluster of shots on each hole not necessarily club specific to see miss tendencies.
  9. I considering the new connex, but have a couple questions before I buy it. 1. I play the same course for the majority of my rounds, and want to know if I can look at the hole and see where my shots have gone to see any tendencies. 2. Can you see a dispersion area for a specific club? I hope I asked them in a way that makes sense. Thank You in advance
  10. Looking forward to the test. Was part of the Titleist testing as well, and didn’t care for them much. Hopefully these balls will suit me better. Regardless it will be, and this test will be more detailed, so will be more fun. Can’t wait to see who cuts it open first, and the guessing on what ball we’re testing.
  11. Her biggest weakness is putting. Maybe the CG will help her with that.
  12. The analytics are good at the pro level, elite amateurs, and perhaps lower handicap golfers. For the recreational golfers there’s not enough consistency in their games for it to be meaningful. In regards to the topic of launch monitor data, does it really matter to a 15 handicap what the 7 iron spin rate is? It probably varies quite a bit. Does the launch monitor accurately reflect that? Should they care?
  13. This is a very good topic. It seems golf has turned into a game of data. I’ve always felt the launch monitors at golf stores were a little off in some way. With the rise of YouTube club reviews, and the golf gurus on podcasts it seems like the data has become more important then the results. Hitting indoors sometimes tend to throw some off as well. Overall launch mos, and simulators should be a tool only not the main factor in decisions vector the data. When your standing on the first tee all that data means nothing.
  14. Why not just do ZX7? Seem to do well with the Srixon, and they will fit the description of what you’re looking for.
  15. Let’s be real. With the exception of a few events golf doesn’t garner that much attention. For what these companies probably have to pay I doubt the return is there.
  16. Surprisingly I’m below my state average by a decent amount (Hawaii). It’s cool to see what the averages are.
  17. This year I’m going to approach goals differently. No scoring goals as I think scores will take care of themselves if I can do what I hope to this year. First of all I want to stop the negative self talk that happens when things take an unfortunate turn on the course. Secondly eliminate the self doubt the creeps in over some shots and just trust the practice I’ve put in. Lately don’t let the pro game, and the golf “gurus” influence how I play.
  18. Would love too, but I’m left handed and the golf shop here doesn’t have a left handed demo of the apex pros for me to try. The zx7s were the only iron I could hit with the different shaft. I’m close to my 40 days with Callaway so I’m just doing it. On the subject of the thread I forgot to mention any Hazdus. I’ve tried a couple different ones and haven’t liked any of them.
  19. Just got new apex irons with dynamic gold 105 and we’re not getting along at all Distance is poor and just feel dead. I’m sending them back and getting them with the modus 3 120 that I tested with the Srixon zx7s with great results. Hard to believe that a shaft can make that much difference.
  20. Does anyone want to try these out too? I have all 3 of mine and one has not been used. They do have the lines I put on them for putting. Shipping shouldn’t be too much. If you’re interested message me and we’ll figure it out. I know I’m not going to use them anymore.
  21. My break up with PXG has happened (except for a sand wedge). I have gotten back together with Callaway.
  22. Was a great season. Lilla Vu made a mark for herself, and I’m excited to see what Rose Zhang can accomplish. Now it the long wait until the start of next season.
  23. Went backup my normal gamer ( Kirkland) and I could tell the difference. Th e Kirkland is much firmer and consistent. Most importantly I didn’t see any strange ball flights off the driver or irons. The putting distance control issues I had were not apparent either.
  24. @jbern I did the same thing yesterday practicing. I started out using the Kirklands I normally play, and then switched to the test bal. It helped, but I still don’t like it. It did make it through my round today though. Aside from the putting feel issue, which may be just a personal preference thing, I still seen a couple strange ball flights.
  25. More coverage of the LPGA is great no matter what. I enjoy watching them over the PGA tour.
