Chal
I am heading to San Fran next month for a golf trip. Spending three days at Pebble Beach. Once in a lifetime trip. We will are arriving in San Fran and looking for a place to play golf the first day when we arrive. Thought we were getting to play Olympic, but the course is closed. We are looking at Harding Park and Half Moon Bay. Is there any other course we should consider? Out of the two we are looking at does anyone have a suggestion. Thanks for the info! Moecat
Bayonet/Black Horse are nice, and so are Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge. Between Harding Park and Half Moon Bay (ocean course), I think Half Moon Bay is more scenic.
GolfSpy Barbajo
Haven't played Half Moon Bay, but Harding Park is a fun, fun course. They are re-doing the greens, so they may still have the temporaries in use. Enjoy Pebble, and if you know a member, Tehama is a magnificent course. SeeRed
I have to second the Bayonet/Blackhorse idea. Harding is good, but go to Monterey. Another idea is Pasatiempo on your way to Pebble. I've played Olympic and Harding, and B/B when they were still part of Ft. Ord. Never played Pasatiempo, but hard to go wrong with a McKenzie course. Whatever you choose- Presidio is also worth playing- enjoy the trip! GolfSpy Barbajo
Almost forgot -- there's what they call the "Poor Man's Pebble Beach," the Pacific Grove Golf Links. It was on the list last year but we had to drop one due to time. It looks awesome... kbosecker
Bayonet/Blackhorse is definetly worth a visit - I often recommend. Half Moon Bay is also a good call. Poppy Hills may not be open -- I think they went through a major renovation and are suppose to open in April -- may want to check.
