The highest ranking player plays the lowest ranking player. Anyone who knows anything about match play and especially those who have played in a match play even knows that the ranking does not mean anything once the ball is teed up. Last year I won a match play event, one of the lower ranking at the start, and the hardest match was the first. So, if you were there this week, which match would you walk along with to watch? Oh what the heck, pick the most interesting match one from each bracket. And also pick the upset of the day. . Adam Scott vs. Robert Rock Rory Mcilroy vs. George Coetzee Bubba Watson vs. Ben Crane Lee Westwood vs. Nicolas Colsaerts and the upset of the day? Steve Williams will not win this one for him. RoverRick
No. 4 Sergio Garcia vs. No. 13 Miguel Angel Jimenez My favorite golf swing vs. my favorite personality. That was almost my upset of the day. Jimenez to first have the imagination to bounce the ball off of the wall on the Road Hole at St Andrews in the Open is one thing, But to have the cajones to actually do it, and the skill to get the power perfect, well, that is a combination that I do not think Sergio has a chance. Besides, Dos X Beer gets that actor to play, "The Most Interesting Man in the World" but I think the should have just shown Jimenez walking up to the green with his cigar and ponytail. I don't think distance is killing the game by any means. I think it is a blast to watch those guys (Bubba, DJ, etc), but where they struggle is where the shorter guys are leaps and bounds better. Take a course like Augusta; I'd take guys like Stricker and Toms over DJ and Bubba anytime. Follow @GolfspyBones

Woods/Watney also looks good, and it would be interesting to see if Toms and/or Goosen can keep the momentum going. But I keep asking myself on this course missing the fairway is so disastrous why are these guys not giving up yardage and putting it in the fairway. Isnt 270 in the middle better 300 and.un playable? GolfSpy WD
McIlroy is probably the most fun golfer to watch at the moment, but the Mahan vs Kuchar is probably the most fun match. NOTHING involving Matt Kuchar should ever be described as "fun." I'd be watching McIlroy. The iron shots he was hitting yesterday were amazing. I sort of want Mahan and Mcilroy in the finals. That is the only really interesting matchup left. But what do I know. I did not set the world on fire with my predictions. Just for fun last night I randomly picked the winners by using the numbers in there flight ranking and did better than when I studied the comparisions and made what I thought was a well reasoned choice.
