  1. Brooksy is channeling his inner Tiger with the turtle neck…..after hittin the drink…
  2. Posted up on the 15th green for the rest of the afternoon…beverage time!! here’s some more from earlier today… IMG_6525.MOV IMG_6525.MOV IMG_6599.MOV
  3. Round 1 Rahm, Ancer, JT, Harris and Bryson on the range.
  4. I forgot to add….we all know how short and compact Rahm’s swing is but damn in person Rahm’s swing is REALLY compact!
  5. Right on the edge of East Lake it is not bad. Very nice actually. So here are the teaser photos from the practice round today (didn’t watch much of the Charity Match). Notable Notes: First and Foremost DJ shaved his beard and went baby face!! Rahm and Bryson played around together since they are paired anyways. Xander was walking (little bent over with extra gold around his neck) with Cantlay. Lots of practice out of the sand all over the course. IMG_6412.MOV IMG_6411.MOV
  6. I bought 2 doz. If I don’t like I’ll let you guys know.
  7. So initial teaser….when not actually in the rounds, posting up at a coworkers house across from the 12th green. Not saying it will happen during the tourney, but I do know balls have been hit from the front yard onto the green. About 90 yards across the street.
  8. Limited release for now….I just ordered 2 doz! recently switched from BS Tour B X to CS X LS and very interested how these compare. Hoping for even better feel improvement around the green than X LS.
  9. Imagine if you wound up with a Bryson-Brooksy matchup! We'll see how many selfies bombs I can get.
  10. Use the current FedEx points playoff as the “play in” to get to the Tour Championship. Then seed the top 16 and go March Madness style in match play for the championship. Losers go in a consolation bracket like FF to fully round out the final standings.
  11. Got out to my home track Osprey Point yesterday (70.1/123 6390 yds from the golds). It was HOT....94 degrees with no breeze. Posted an 45/43 and that was with 7 penalties. Started the first 7 holes on fire, no penalties and was +5 through 7. Then started getting penalty trouble on hole 8 and had 4 straight holes with penalty stokes (2 on 9 alone). Only 2 of the penalties were from errant shots out of the tee box. The other 5 were from shots that I pured and felt great, just long into the sawgrass brush that usually protects the the greens. So overall this was really one of my best ball striking days (and score) in a really long time. Based on the the 2021 MGS ball test, decided to switch up from my gamer Bridgestone Tour B X and give the Chromesoft X LS a tryout. I've been having trouble holding greens with the Tour B X. I really liked the Chromesoft X LS. Not much difference off the tee, but definitely more responsive for me with irons and especially wedges. I held a few more greens and was able to get more spin and check up with my wedges and actually had a couple shots from 100-110yds out that backed up for me. Wasn't able to do that with the Tour B X. Definitely helped my best putting day ever with 32 putts (5 one putts) for the day. Might also have to look at the regular Chromesoft X vs X LS just to see how it feels, but I'm convinced to switch away from the Tour B X (or maybe even give the B XS a shot based on the data). Next round next week Wednesday with a business customer. Playing Palm Beach National which is 72.3/131. Pretty open fairways but a decent amount of water and bunker protected greens. Should be easier to recover and not have to take penalties compared to my home track. Hoping to again break 90.
  12. So less than 2 weeks away from the Tour Championship at East Lake. My company is located pretty close to there so we have VIP passes all week. Starting with the Charity round on Wendnesday and then teeing off at 7:30am each day at various local courses before heading over to East Lake for the afternoon for rounds 1-4. I'll try and share as many pictures as I can take!! Any fellow Spies going to be there?
  13. Understandable, not necessarily pointing towards ball flight and his explanation but his concept of width in general. I know I can feel myself with restricted rotation/getting more armsy and can't finish in form with good balance when I get too wide. Narrowing stance and adjusting my side tilt definitely helped me. I was averaging 260 with a few 280 pops in my round today.
  14. An overlooked influence on AoA and subsequently face impact location is stance width. Sure a wider stance helps promote a more positive AoA, however that can happen at the sacrifice of balance which then leads to a bunch of other issues. So slightly narrower, just wide enough to maintain balance, and focus on getting sternum behind ball via side tilt. There is a great video by Steve Pratt Golf called how the power stance is killing your driver distance that explains this nicely. So I'll throw stance width/side tilt in the mix that also needs to be factored in with the tee height and ball position mentioned previously.
  15. Back in Feb I picked up a Subtle Patriot travel bag. https://subtlepatriot.com/product/patriot-golf-bag-travel-cover/ (found an open box buy for about 1/2 price). Very thick padded top and also use a stiff arm which finally broke after 5 years but protected my clubs! My bag has been on 10 flights already and minimal signs of wear on the heavy duty nylon. Bag has 6 wheels so you you can recline and pull but also stand it up and push it. Shoe pouch on the outside. I LOVE the hard shell hat compartment which I usually toss some other stuff in as well. Absolutely love this travel case.
  16. So Arccos is sending me a replacement Caddie Link. We’ll see how that works next round on the 25th. Worst case I know the system is good with my phone so if need be just get rid of Link and have to use my phone.
  17. Thanks man!!!! Wish it was a fun golf filled birthday but dealing with wife and kid with colds (covid negative at least). Guess I’ll have to settle for a rain check!
  18. So post topic a play on a classic movie line.... Lead elbow at address pointing towards target (pronation) or pointing at lead hip (more neutral/supinated)? What say you and why? Watching a lot of the pros you see with more elbow/arm pronated at address, but majority of instructors say supinated to supposedly keep arm soft but straight and still attached to body. Key being to squeeze elbows together to keep that connection to torso. I feel with my swing (I'm more on the single plane), keeping my lead elbow supinated and tucked into chest for me feels like encourages too much forearm and rotation with some flexion during transition and downswing leading to more club face rotation closing at impact and ending with pulls/hooks. With elbow/arm pronation at address, I feel like I can keep my arm more straight and better enables dropping hands in downswing and keeping a more square club face at impact resulting more straight and draws.
  19. The central HQ is the problem. I bought my pre-Covid in Jan 2020. My estimate was 2 weeks and turned out being closer to 4 at that time. Although I got updates all along the way, of course the mfg was the fall back from corporate customer service. The "HQ" build screwed up the swing weight on my set. So local shop made the fix for me. My CC fitter even acknowledged then sometimes the mfg is late, but also CC HQ isn't the fastest. My CC fitters have been great to work with (both at the same store). After a year with my irons, I didn't have the same feel (swing changes really bumped club speed). Even though the perfect fit guarantee passed, they brought me in (April 2021) and didn't charge me to refit. Upgraded my iron shafts which they did in store. They told me about a week to get the KBS shafts in and had the rebuilds done in 2 days after they arrived. Before I went home, they had me rehit on the lie board to make sure everything was just right. My CC shop has always been honest with me on lead times. 2 weeks ago my 8i shaft was damaged and I had to have rebuilt. They told me 8-10 weeks on the single KBS shaft from them, but then actually advised me to try to find it elsewhere bring it in and we'll build it for you. So I picked up my shaft and MCC +4 grip online in a week and brought it in. Back to me in 2 days. I know you can get cheaper elsewhere, but for me I'll pay the extra cost to hit a much wider variety of equipment to find the right setup.
  20. Usually you select the starting hole when you go to start the round in the app. The data I will say gets a lot better the more rounds you play. I played a round today with my phone instead of the caddie link. While I don’t like having things in my pockets, especially a phone, it wasn’t too bad. Needless to say, using the phone Arccos only missed 4 shots all day. It was a little overcast too. So clearly there is something wrong with the Caddie Link device I have. Just have to wait what Arccos support comes back with.
  21. BB, I’d be curious to hear if you try anything mentioned that was new and if you think or feel may have worked for you. Of course it’s not just “I’ll try this one shot….” But after a couple rounds let us know.
  22. Like Ricky, I've settled in to a feel thought which also helps me with tempo. The feel portion is to guide the feeling of dropping the hands down into the slot to keep swing inside. "Pull the.....chain" like pulling a ceiling fan light chain straight down to the ground. Tempo wise "Pull...the..." on backswing (it's also a little shorter to remind not to over extend backswing) with brief pause at transition, and "chain" on downswing as hands drive down with butt end of club pointing towards the ball.
  23. Jumping into the Arccos User Group here. I love the data but my caddie link misses too many shots. I have logged 14 rounds and over 1100 shots completed. Still find myself making sure all shots are correct on the phone while playing and I know this slows me down and annoys my playing partners. So at during 2 rounds last week, I decided not going to worry about Arccos and just play. Well, Arccos missed 33 and 34 shots in each of the rounds, respectively (those rounds deleted from app). It was sunny out not overcast. All sensor diagnostics are good. Caddie Link is clipped to my front pocket and shirt is tucked so not covering the link. No way I remember 30+ shots per round to update it after. Working with Arccos support now to try to determine if there is an issue with my caddie link. In diagnostic mode it sometimes initially detects the club but then a second later says no club detected. Support told me it is strange behavior and want me to use my phone in the pocket for shot detection next time I play to see if that is any better and identify caddie link as the issue (I hate playing with things in my pocket). It definitely takes away from just playing and enjoying the round when having to mess around with it so much. If the phone isn't any better at picking up shots, I'm really on the verge of trashing Arccos to be able to just focus on playing.
  24. Uggh I had 7 three putts as well in one of my Cherokee rounds last week!
