Date 06/17/2024 Course Name Dundas Parks GC Gross Score 98 Course Handicap 17 Gross Strokes over/under par 28 Net Score to Par 11 Net Score 81 Net Birdies or better Longest Drive It's getting worse, a very select number of shots that were remarkable followed by some shocking golf. Even had a few Rory moments on short putts.

Date 06/10/2024 Course Name Dundas Parks GC Gross Score 93 Course Handicap 17 Gross Strokes over/under par 23 Net Score to Par 6 Net Score 76 Net Birdies or better 0 Longest Drive 0 A disappointing round after the first time in maybe 3 years where my driving was producing +3.7 strokes gained. Losing everything on the greens after a very dry week and a double cut during the week to host a national event.

As a UK resident I grew up without Satellite TV, so enjoyed the golf on 'free' tv when it was aired. I have many happy memories of such tournaments but since everything is behind a pay wall I don't tend to watch alot of live sport in general but catch up on highlights where I can.I would still enjoy watching it live but I think I've moved so far that point that I would struggle to get a couple of hours of viewing past the wife.

Sorry no matter how many times I put in scores I still get confused in my head by gross vs nett.

Dundas Parks is a 9 Hole course so ready golf is key to pace of play. During competition groups are limited to 3 to ensure that 9 holes takes 1:44:00, this includes hitting 1:00:00 at the 6th hole. 99% of golfers are carry or push carts so there is no worries about distractions. There are definetely some who take liberties when it comes to shot routines, as a junior coach I try to encourage our juniors to keep to a short routine.

I have used all the apps that have been free to use and never really tried the paid for features. Apps I've tried: 18 Birdies Grint MScorecard Golfshot Taylormade OnCourse I had been using the Taylormade most as in terms of stats i gave the most complete picture and if you wanted to target a score like 5, 10 , 15, 20 handicap if would rate your perfromance against that. I really liked the depth of stats it would produce around green shots and putts. Something I've never seen in any other app. The only draw back is the more rounds you enter the harder the app seems to have to work, so a couple of seasons worth and I couldn't really use the compare function. I've reverted back to Golfshot purely to get some basic stats on my game as it has been going backwards recently. Probably need a good lesson rather than worrying about tracking.

Playing in club qualifier for a paired 9 hole Scottish Golf championship, which Dundas is hosting for the 3 year. Haven't been playing great recently had a bad year last year adding 3.7 to the handicap. Started off great +1 over 5 holes, no pressure. Hole 6 dog leg left with OB right, massive slice 1, baby fade 3, 220ish 3wood for 4, chunk a chip 5, bump and run 6, 6 footer for 7 triple. So that shot all composure and ended the 9 holes on +9.

Members opening day at McDonald Cardrona Golf Course in March, this was a closest the hole comp on the day but had it been a few degrees warmer it could have rolled the last 4 inches. Still waiting...

For those that carry or walk, I'd be interested in how many balls you carry in a competition. Not to be pessimisstic but I do have more than 12 when in reality I'm rarely losing a ball per round. I know that at the club even a few low handicappers will take an extra to some tee shots even though they have been striping it all day.

I can't remember the exact stats but ShotScope published something at the end of last year that broke down the % of golfers likely to break certain numbers and breaking 70 was something like .2% of all worldwide golfers.

Poll: Driving Range Warmup Before Playing a Round?
pjaxx88 replied to Middler's topic in General Q&A
We have a practice green, two nets and a range where the maximum club allowed is 7i. I do always play better though if I have hit a bucket (of my own balls) to loosen up, 50yds 75yds 100yds 125yds up hill. Have been working on a more structured putting regime but there are no straight putts on our green so very much speed training and assessing damp and wind. -
As a 20 something handicapper I think its must have as others have stated the %s sit with those players chunking or thining it. I've dropped down alot in the last 2 years and it comes with confidence of those shots again as many have said. In Scotland currently we have fast greens and sluggish fairways, so all about lie and distance. The hybrid is a great shout for the up and in. I started using it after seeing Morikawa use his 3 wood from the fringe in bad rain.

How many different shaft models in your bag?
pjaxx88 replied to BostonSal's topic in Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips
Late to the party on this one @BostonSal being a UK player, I would that fitting is still down to the select with some £££ or the talent. For me I have been adapting my bag as my game slowly improves, so at the moment I think 8 different shafts: Driver - self chosen 55g stiff Adila 3w & 4h - Taylormade 2017 stock 65g s 2i - Mizuno rifle reg flex maybe a 90g not sure 5,6,8,P - KBS 90g reg flex 9, - 90g stiff as it previous owner lost his 9iron from set 7 - reg 85g, I hit a tree root, flushed the ball 200 to the green and the head went 120 behind it. SW - Lynx wedge flex LW - KBS tour clite taper 110g stiff Ping Sigma 2 stock shaft. Rubbish I can't count ...9 different ones. -
Favorite golf app?
pjaxx88 replied to acatalano32's topic in Training Aids, GPS Devices, Apps, Accessories & More!
I have used a number of different apps since returning to golf in 2018/19. I started with a scorecard app that had some mapping but little in terms of stats. I moved to Golfshot which had a better function in stats and being app to record shots on a GPS track, I know the premium version allows you to manipulate the shot tracker should you wish to see a lay up option. Have tried GRINT and 18Birdies but I have found the best stats recall and layout and directory of courses I use Taylormade On Course. I had been recording every round but of late with a need to flatten my handicap differences I play each shot and use a scorecard. -
My Club is a 9hole played all year round, everyone walks bar one Gent who has a ride on buggy, I think cart golf is still reserved to the big ticket clubs in Scotland £££. I always carried and moved to a 3wheel trolley for comp days.
