I was lucky enough to spend the week at Pebble Beach last week and played Spyglass, Pebble Beach, and Spanish Bay. The experience was absolutely incredible! My dad and I had high expectations going into the week, but Pebble blew our expectations out of the water. The weather was great (mid-50s to low 60s) but windy at times. The wind helped with the overall experience and showed us how challenging these courses really are. I played my best at Pebble with birdies on 3, 4, 13, and 14. The birdie putt on 14 is something I'll never forget. I was in the bunker in front of the green after my 2nd shot and chipped out to the back of the green. I had a 30-foot putt with the green breaking left to right (toward the ocean) but a strong right-to-left wind coming off the ocean. The caddie (Mike, more on him below) gave me the line, and I hit it perfectly. The crazy part of the putt was the last 4-5 feet; we could see wobbling back and forth as the green wanted it to break one way, but the wind wanted it to break another. We saw this putt break in different directions 4x before it ended up in the center of the cup. Everyone erupted when that putt went in! It's a golf shot I'll never forget! I owe it all to our caddie, Mike. He's been at Pebble for 30+ years and made the experience so great! He went above and beyond just giving us shot/club recommendations and reading the green. He stopped to take pictures of my dad and I over the ocean more times than I can count. He had a great sense of humor, too. If you ever get the chance to play Pebble, you need to request Mike. He is probably in his late 60s to early 70s and knows the course like the back of his hand.
I have a video below of my tee shot on 18. The wind was so strong off the ocean that we had to aim 10-15 yards OVER THE OCEAN and let the wind bring it back into the fairway.
Thank you, Pebble Beach, for the incredible week! It was a trip I'll remember for the rest of my life.

Shot a 43 in league on Tuesday evening. Played quite well with a handful of dumb mistakes. Chalking it up to it being early in the season. Driver was on fire though!

55 for 9 holes.  I was within a short 2nd shot on 2 par 4's but my short/approach game SUCKS.  I'm 81 and I would like to be able to beat my age but not with the way I hit wedges.

Got out this past Sunday to play a quick 9 hole par 3 course. Can you tell when it started to downpour hahaha? Just need to shave off those doubles and I think my game will be in a good place. Made poor judgment on club choice/around the green leading to those errors. The weather didn't help, but I should be able to adapt to course conditions. Really happy with the 2 birdies on the par 4s.

Played quickly this am with two random as a single. Sometimes you get lucky. One played to about an 8 and the other was best guess a 12-14.

If they lost one they didn’t spend a millennium searching and just said oh well let’s keep going.

I don’t know what I did deserve this but it was a real pleasure. They also listened to music (asking me if I cared what genre to which I replied I’ll play to anything) and had a wonderful 90’s mix of alternative, hip hop and country.

Shot 78. 13 greens. Hit every GIR inside 100 yards and overall felt pretty good.

Well, my Companies league started last night and it was my first time competing in a golf league. Pretty happy with how I played. Definitely was a little nervous and it showed on a couple holes. was able to pull out a win. Ready for the next time we go back out that's for sure. Definitely have some room for improvement.

I finally got to play again, haven't been able to play because the course was so wet than we went on vacation. The last time I played was April 9th. Shot 46 with 2 doubles, I was driving well but my iron distances were off. Still early yet playing tomorrow and Friday. Hit'm well everyone.

Thank you to @ejgaudette @injectedcutty @Michael.Sandoval33 @Prodigal Duffer @Rob Person and @sschristie for the photos for social medias this week!
One thing I would like to do is tag any courses where you got the photo from. If the course you are playing has an Instagram account let me know what the handle is in your post and I will be sure to tag them in any pictures we use on our accounts.

I was able to get out for 9 after work on Friday (4/26) and Monday (4/29). I am still playing without a driver, but it is not needed most places I play. Shot an even par 36 on Friday with 14 putts, including a sloppy 3-putt on the 8th. Good ball striking in the stiff wind and solid putting results in good scores.

Monday was a very solid ball-striking day with strong winds, but I only managed 1 up and down and none over the final 5 holes with two 3-putts. These greens are very different from my home course, but they shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.
On a bright note, I was able to bring my 6 year old daughter to the course with me to let her get some swings in. Hopefully she’ll get the desire to play so I will have a partner and help relieve my wife some from having 3 kids alone while I play.
I’m just thankful to be able to play, spend time with my daughter, and play mostly good golf, for my standards.

A disappointing league round yesterday.  Shot a 52.  One of my worst of the past year pretty much.
Between allergies, having slept like poo, and just not feeling comfortable over the ball the entire round.  I just had to fight through it.  Oh throw in a 30mph gusting breeze at 100ft and I had balls that start on target and just got blown all over.
Nothing like an entire day of tap in third putts.  urg.
Driver was just.... a liability for me this round.  Im ready for spring to be over already.
Also that first hole man alive was I so not warmed up at all.

Not sure what to make of yesterday’s league round.   hit a few mediocre shots but did everything pretty well except short putts.  Missed 4 putts under 3 feet.

We just started our men's league, shot a 4 over par 40, 5 pars and 4 bogeys. I felt like i hit the ball better than i scored, maybe it was the 20 mph wind but I felt like I left a few shots out there.

    HOLY CRAP!
The stars aligned last night! By that, I mean all facets of the game were mostly working simultaneously. I shot a nearly stress-free 35 (E) last night: 7 pars, 1 birdie, 1 bogey. That is a milestone for me. I've shot a few rounds in the +1, +2 range, but never ended up even. I think I'm going to create a separate thread and give more of a blow-by-blow, but I had 7 GIR's (the two misses were by a combined few feet), a chip-in birdie on the hardest hole on the 9. Overall, driver was very well behaved as I had a clean second shot every time. I was on the green in regulation on all three par 3's, but unfortunately, one was from looong range (60-ish feet) and resulted in a 3-putt bogey.
Whatever happened yesterday, I want to bottle it. Unfortunately, I know that's not how golf works.

Arccos hates putting, I think. I felt like I was putting well - even the 3-putt didn't bug me because of the distance and the contour of the green (the last 10-ish feet start falling away and I could have easily putted off the green if I wasn't careful). I suppose I also got punished a bit for missing ~8' birdie putt, but it was a downhill slider that I had to be very defensive with. In general, I was lag putting very well given the proximity on approach I had.
I also won long drive and closest to pin.
As far as scores go, my partner and I mopped up last night. With me shooting net 31, he went out and shot a net 28.

Played the front 9 at Langston again today, shot 44 today and felt a lot better than I did yesterday. Still not dropping any putts but I'm making fewer and fewer mistakes and bad strikes.
