  1. Good questions, @Swood1994. I would say there is a little loss of tackiness, but not enough to affect performance significantly. Clubs are not slipping and I don't question the grip at all, and I do not have any slickness or stiffness in the glove. I will say that the glove has stretched out some, which I would expect given the tight fit of it originally. I, too, am due for a new one soon because I do love the new feel. But I don't think I have ever had another "premium" glove last this many rounds without developing a hole in the thumb pad.
  2. Red Rooster has the Sussex available starting today. If interested, they can be ordered here: https://redroostergolf.com/collections/mens/products/the-sussex Also, my glove is over ten rounds in (I have lost count TBH) and still going strong. I am a fan. Thanks again to RR and MGS for providing this great opportunity!
  3. Date 06/28/2023 Course Name River Glen Country Club Gross Score 82 Course Handicap 11 Gross Strokes over/under par 11 Net Score to Par 0 Net Score 71 Net Birdies or better 5 Longest Drive 277
  4. Man, I have a ton of grips. I recently tried the Amazon cheapo Kingrasp grip on a driver build, based on a MobileClubmaker review video, and I really like it! I tend to like those MCC-type grips on my woods. The Kingrasp can be had at a great price, and it seems to be holding up very well with equal (or better) performance, which suits my driver shaft tinkering habit. I can tell no difference when compared to name brand models, which is what I was looking for. For irons, I am slowly moving exclusively to the Iomic Mid Evolution on everything. These are the opposite of budget grips, but they are just perfect to me. Great feedback, firm, and tacky enough without being grabby (if that makes any sense). Same feedback as firm corded grips without the quick wear, too. Great thread. Interesting perspectives here.
  5. Good morning, Spies! it’s a smoky morning here in Indy also. Nuts. Already at work, and the coffee is already made. Hitting it hard early before conducting a few interviews and hopefully (fingers crossed - work progress dependent) getting out for 18 late afternoon. I U-turned and followed a fire truck into our neighborhood at 5 am this morning, only for it to stop at one of our best friends’ homes and watched the firemen rush in. Thankfully it was just a faulty CO detector setting off the alarm. That sort of thing - the worry - makes you appreciate how good we have it, yeah? It’s like last week when I was cursing a bad golf shot and the lifeline helicopter flew over the course. Perspective. @sirchunksalot Jason I hope your wife is totally fine and feels better ASAP. I know you are lifting her up through this. I wish you all clear skies, fairways, and greens today!
  6. Good morning, Spies! I missed being active here last week but had a good week of golf. My scores were not so great, especially after a warmup back injury Friday that aged my body and golf game 40 years instantly, but that was overcome by Sunday and we all had a great time in our family golf reunion. Prairie View GC: The Brickyard: I hope you all have some golf planned for this week. I wish you all a superb Tuesday.
  7. Congratulations testers! What a great test. Get after it!
  8. It was!! Not anymore. Totally switched - now my short game has deserted me!
  9. Good morning Spies! I’m just catching up on the forum. Lots happening! I am happy to be in spoiled golfer heaven during my family golf reunion. Today will be day 4 of 6 golfing in Central Indiana with my brother and 4 cousins. It’s been wonderful. Great weather and the guys love the courses. We play Prairie View (Carmel, IN) today, Purgatory (Noblesville, IN) Sunday, and everyone is geared up (get it?) to play The Brickyard on Saturday. (River Glen in Fishers, IN) We took 5 first-timers to St. Elmo’s Steakhouse last night, including our 85 yo uncle, who had a blast. It’s always fun to watch novices fail to heed the warnings about the freshly cut horseradish in the cocktail sauce. Eyes watering. Coughing. “Holy S***!” Thinking Pizza King tonight. (The fam has lots of history and roots in and around Muncie IN and it’s a staple there. IYKYK.) My game has been up and down, but overall much improved over last year. I had a strong 43-39-82 round on Wednesday, which included my first birdie on the personal nemesis hole after a 100 yard wedge shot which spun back 5’ to leave me this 4’ putt. I hope that dagger in the beast hole’s heart will force it to continue to submit, but I doubt it. Feeling very grateful for this time with family. Thanks for listening. Oh, FWIW the new FJ Hyperflex Carbon shoes have been fantastically comfortable and stable. Thank you to MGS for the annual shoe test and recommendation! Hoping your weeks are as enjoyable as mine has been. Have a great day!
  10. Just dropping in to confirm the Bridgestone Tour B RX has been a fantastic ball for my OP. Like amazing. I outdrove my 6’4” 25 yo big hitter cousin several times yesterday with it. Straight, penetrating ball flight. Very impressive.
  11. Just a heads up on the MP5 - Golfworks' stock is down to only L shafts, and their website indicates that the shaft is discontinued and will not be restocked. So . . . if anyone wants one, now's apparently the time (from Golfworks anyway). They MP5 is on sale for $39.99 at GW too, which is a steal IMO. Wondering if UST will come out with a replacement for the MP5. UST's Helium and Quantum shafts are lightweight, but have relatively high torque so I question their utility. Has anyone tried the UST gold shafts in OP? Good points re potentially upgrading shafts for those who have had success. What other magic lurks out there?
  12. Go get em @SpencerKelly! They are so beautiful. I hope you love them!
  13. I have the ZG21 BOA from Adidas, and have disliked it immensely. The heel pad wore out immediately. Spikes are nearly impossible to remove for replacement. I had to pry them out with a screwdriver because they won't twist out. No more Adidas for me. They were so expensive I just kept them until my stubbornness gave way yesterday. On MGS's recommendation I just picked up some FJ Hyperflex Carbons. Fingers crossed this is a better experience.
  14. Good morning Spies! Aren’t those MacGregor irons gorgeous? The testers must surely love this test. Congrats to them. My annual golf trip starts today. This year it is here in my hometown which has good golf and is centrally located. My brother and cousins are coming in from Florida, Iowa, and Tennessee for six days of golf and fun. It’s always a good time. I wish you all a wonderful day!
  15. I did some Foresight testing this afternoon. No time to make a fancy chart, trust me the Tour RB, Tour RBS, and Maxfli Tour S were all in a dead heat for spin on the Otto-Phlex driver and optimum distance and dispersion. I was surprised the RB and RBS were so close in spin given the purported difference in greenside spin. They all smoked the Vice Pro Soft. my annual golf trip starts tomorrow so I picked up a dozen RB and a dozen Tour S to game during the trip. I will figure this out in time for the 2024 ball releases.
  16. Yessir, the Maltbys are the real deal. There are lots of good recommendations here. I especially like those proffered by @richk9holes.
  17. Cool question here. Hybrid: Maltby Ke4 Tour Driver: Taylormade M1 or Callaway Epic Flash (cutting it close on price) Irons: Mizuno MP-62 or Maltby Ke4/TE/DBM
  18. TRADED - Cancel please. Straight up trade. Remove and keep your own weights and just ship the heads, no weights and no covers. DM if interested and we can share photos; head is in good shape on my end. Thanks for looking!
  19. Because so many of these are choices only available by the dozen to try, I have been doing research trying to figure out what to test without breaking the bank. The AVX did the best for me in Foresight testing with the Otto-Phlex driver, but around the greens it leaves a lot to be desired. After additional research, I am torn between testing the Bridgestone Tour B RX (79 compression) and RXS (65 compression). I need to keep spin low with driver when using the Otto-Phlex, as I hit it higher and spinnier than I do an S or X shaft at around 100 +/- 3 mph. Bridgestone touts the RX as having better (more) greenside spin than the ProV1, and is supposed to be longer off the tee than the RXS due in part to lower driver spin as well as higher ball speed (higher compression). Yet, the RXS claims to have more greenside spin, but is softer (which usually means less driver spin). Huh? It seems very confusing. How I wish the new MGS robot ball test was complete, as both are new in 2022 and I would love to see current comparisons on driver and iron spin rates for these in dialing in the best OP performance.
  20. @Ding-dong ball choice seems highly personal. I am on the quest to find the perfect ball myself - low spin with good greenside performance. The AVX works pretty well and I have been using Vice Pro Soft but it still launches high and skinny sometimes. I want to try the Q Star Tour, Titleist Tour Speed, and Bridgestone Tour B RX.
  21. Very cool. I am doing nearly the same. We can compare notes. Driver was the best part of my game today too.
  22. I just bought another MP5 to do exactly this. I am getting good results but still a bit too much spin, so I will trim an inch and see what we see.
  23. Good morning, Spies! Up early, enjoying some coffee and working. Then it's off to the office to drop this work off, on to Bloomington, IN, to take care of some stuff I won't bore you with, and hopefully back to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this afternoon in time to watch one of my oldest and best friends race his vintage car and hang out at his pit party (and drink his booze), followed by an early Father's Day dinner tonight with our eldest daughter who recently turned 21 and asked us to take her to her first "real adult fancy swanky bar" for dinner. It promises to be a full, fun day. I hope to sneak some putting practice in there somewhere, but . . . yeah, probably not. Golf tomorrow morning to kick off Father's Day! I loved your scramble story @Jnoble89. Thanks for sharing that. I wish you all a fabulous Saturday!
