Third windiest? I guess you don't live in Cheyenne Wyoming 🤣. I am pretty sure Cheyenne is the windiest city in the world. It's been crazy this year.

Nope. The windiest city is North America is St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, We're an island in The North Atlantic. If you don't like playing golf in 25-40 MPH (40-60 KPH) winds most days or at least for portions of the day, you don't play golf here.

I will say I used to be strongly against push carts. At the end of the day, you want to do what makes the golf experience most enjoyable for you. I don't mind carrying my bag, but ever since I've gotten a push cart, it's a game changer lol (I'm only 30 and will proudly use my push cart)

Your next game changer is an electric push cart. I used to carry my clubs, then I got a ClicGear. I had it for about 12 years, made a couple of repairs on it like a brake cable and the handle broke. When it was time for the next fix, I decided to buy a new one or get an electronic push club. I decided to go with the electronic cart. That was a game changer. You can walk with the cart or let it go ahead of you. Wow. what a difference. I live in The 3rd windiest city in the world so not having to push the cart into the wind was a bonus. Now I can just hold onto it and I don't have to push it. They aren't that expensive for a regular one. They can get expensive if you want but mine was only about $500-600 US. Definitely worth thinking about. At my club, most people are changing from manual push cart to electronic push carts. You're never too young for a push cart.

The OWGR is ranking those who play in tournaments that fall under the OWGR system. That’s all they have to rank.

DJ chose to play on a tour that doesn’t have ranking points as did all the rest who are complaining especially the recent jumpers who knew what the situation was.

They have to sleep in the bed they made and can’t have their cake and eat it too.

The OWGR told LIV what they had to do to get approval and LIV said no thanks. Putting the blame anywhere but on LIV and their decision to not accept the OWGR and the players especially the recent ones to sign knowing they were going to lose points is putting the blame in the wrong place. It’s squarely on everyone at LIV from the top down

So basically, they are ranking the whole of the golfing world and they are the Overall World ranking points? They are not doing what their name implies. They do not rank The whole world, do they? IF you honestly believe that DJ is # 247 in The world and there are 246 better golfers in The world, fine. I find it hard to believe that anyone who knows golf would say DJ is the 247th best golfer in The world which is what the World ranking is supposed to do. The system is broken IF their mandate is to rank The best golfers in The World because they definitely aren't doing that. The rules of golf are updated every 4 years but the World ranking points can't work out to to include some of the best golfer sin The world. Tiger's 20 man invitational tournament gets full world ranking points. There is no criteria fro that tournament other than Tiger invites you. SO they can do it if they wish. They don't wish to do it. That's my issue. Explain to me how a 20 man invitational tournament get points, no other criteria other than Tiger invites you. He does try to get The best field but again no  criteria but LIV doesn't? Sorry makes no sense to me.

Many who aren't exempt will do this - Sergio tried last year. The idea that LIV fields, which has 1/2 of the last 26 major winners, aren't strong fields, is laughable.  Sure, there are guys like Westwood and Poulter that they need to figure out a way to exit from the league, but the PGA has it's share of trunk slammers in the field every week as well.

That's hard to believe that 1/2 of the major winners in The last 6 1/2 years play on The LIV tour. That's crazy but it's a fact.

LIV would still have issues with the small fields and little or no way to earn a spot on their tour.  Its one thing to be in the top 10 of the same 56 players, its a different thing to compare those 56 players to the rest of the golfing universe.  Kind of a "big fish in a small pond" thing.

Gooch has spoken out, but its hard to put him in the top 50 when he's missed the cut in about 1/3 of his tournaments, and finished 34-cut-cut in his last 3 majors.

I wouldn't have a problem with LIV getting ranking points, but I think 40% is generous.  The field sizes and 54 hole format are negatives, and some of those 56 players are pretty bad.  LIV "purchased" players to make publicity waves, and not all of them are particularly good.  But even if LIV did get some reduced ranking points, the players  (and particularly Norman) would continue to complain, anything short of full PGA Tour points wouldn't satisfy them.

I think The starting point is 75% seeing they play 3 rounds rather than 4. Then points get reduced for a closed field and the no cut. They are already inconsistencies in the rankings now. The biggest one is Tiger's tournament that is a 20 man invitational with no cut gets full points. I know it took that tournament a number of years before they were awarded points but that precedent has already been set and if a 20 man invitational gets full points, I don't think it's a stretch for LIV to get partial points. The other one is a PGA tour event that only plays 3 rounds. I know that most times that happens there has been a cut but sometimes they isn't. If you are going to give points for some tournaments that are run by The PGA Tour, then tournaments that LIV play should also get points.

  6. Well said. The OWGR could make it work IF they wanted to. I'm glad the PGA Championship & The Masters have invited at least one person. I believe that the US Open & The Open could do the same but with that said, the LIV golfers could try to qualify through The qualifying tournaments so there is an avenue for them to play those two majors. I don't think they should have to qualify if they're good enough.  Dust Johnson is now #247 in the world. If anyone golf fan thinks that there are 246 better golfers in the world, I think they're nuts. There is no way that DJ is the 247th best golfer in The world. THat's crazy. Unfortunately the World ranking aren't ranking everyone so the system is flawed or change the name to Ranking of some golfers.

  7. I think LIV should get World ranking points but at 35-40% of the PGA Tour. Some of the tours that do get World ranking points are only 3 rounds, not 4. The name is The WORLD ranking points. The object is to identify the best golfers in The world. At this moment, it doesn't. That's The bottom line. You have Rahm, Koepka, DJ, Niewmann, Taylor Gooch, Louie O, Cam Smith, Reed and a few others that were always within the top 50 or at max the top 100. Now some of them are in The 200s and lower. Did they suddenly become lousy golfers? NO they didn't. As the name say it's a World Ranking system. Well in actual fact, It isn't a world ranking system anymore. It needs to change. I would love to see them all on one tour again but even the majors aren't getting the best players anymore. They are getting the majority of them but not all. It looks like the Masters and the PGA Championships have figured that out and have, at least, one golfer who doesn't qualify through World Ranking points. There is a solution but to do it, the World ranking system must rank all golfers, not just ones that have a major influence on the board, the PGA Tour. Golf is forever changing, The rules are updated every 4 years, The equipment we use keeps changing, The clothes we were on The course changes by evident that we no longer have to play wearing a suit. SO the time has come for the World ranking system to rank The world. I did not watch LIV but since LIV started, I'm not really interested in watching the PGA Tour either.

It was my 40th birthday this year. My wife (with help from my parents and my in-laws) planned and sent the two of us on a trip down to Pebble Beach. In the span of 5 days I got to play Spanish Bay, Spyglass Hill, and Pebble Beach.

That pretty much took care of my #1 bucket list course.

Obviosuly Augusta would be the new #1. Cypress Point not far behind. But neither of those are in any way realistic.

My next top choice would probably be Fairmont Chateau Whistler golf course in British Columbia Canada. I love with mountain golf, or Seaside golf, and being stuck in the central prairies of Canada leave me with very few opportunities for either.

The Old course would be cool, but all things being equal, I've never been a lover of links golf. I was in Ireland and Scotland last summer. I golfed Killarney in Ireland and the scenery was incredible. On a lake with the hills in the background.

I suppose my new #1 (realistic) bucket list course would have to be Kapalua. Followed closely by Wailea. Hawaiian golf? Sign me up!

Dpersad, I have played the Whilst courses and I would rate them as Big Sky, Nicholas North, Chateau Whistler and Whistler golf course. Big Sky is flat but with Mount Currie in The background is amazing. Chateau Whistler is a true mountain course though. You're playing on the mountain. Another course that you play if you like ocean side is Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs on Cape Breton island in Nova Scotia. It is a true seaside course and it's they are in the top 100 courses of the world and both are in the top 3 of Canadian courses.

  9. Yes, playing for money or a club match, the distance may change to be a shorter distance but generally playing with my regular group, you knock the ball back to them or tell them  "Take it away or That's good". IN a money match or a club match, you judge by how good the person normally putts or if it's someone you don't know, it's how good they are putting that day.

  10. I got new clubs this year. I now play Callaway Paradym X woods, hybrids and irons. I use Cleveland CBX wedges and an Odyssey Versa Sabre tooth putter. The Paradyms are great in my mind. My favourite clubs are the 7 wood and 5 hybrid. I purchased Cleveland CBX wedges a couple of years ago because they were cavity based wedges which have helped my game. As for a putter, I have 3 putter but this year I have been using the Odyssey Versa Sabre tooth putter exclusively. My other putters are an Odyssey 2 ball and a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 or 2.5, I can't remember.

  11. Congrats on breaking 80. I have been using both AVX and Z-Star over the last 5 years or however long the AVX has been on the market.  After playing both balls for a number of years, here's what I've found. The Z-Star is a little firmer than the AVX. The AVX is a softer ball. I play in a very windy city (supposedly the 3rd windiest city in the world.) I have both the AVX and the Z-Star both work well in the wind but I think the Z-Star a bit better in The wind. The Z-Star does stop quicker bur the AVX is no slouch either but it's not a Z-Star/Pro V1. When putting, I do like the feel of the AVX better. I do have to make a small adjustment using the Z-Star when putting because it seems to be hotter coming off the putter. On a really windy day, I found the Z-Start XV a better ball. I don't like the Q-Star or the Q-star tour. They just don't feel right and I find they are shorter than the AVX or the Z-Star.  I would recommend either ball. I keep both in the ball and use them interchangeable.
