  1. I agree fitting is a must and argue that fitting is a must for ALL putters. From a business decision perspective though, I would have thought a "stock" putter would be better aligned with the "stock" options from the rest of the industry in order to have a more consistent comparison in the store.
  2. I never quite understood why Lab decided to make their stock lie angle 69* since that is flatter than pretty much any other OEM putters stock lie angle. Most start at 70* or 71*. When people go into the store and putt with one side by side with another brand, the lie angle won't compare which could turn someone off since the putter wouldn't be correctly balanced if someone needed more upright.
  3. Don't know if it's been posted but Shankitgolf has 30% off going on. Shankitgolf website Some of the hats and t shirts are cool looking.
  4. The conversation when I play with my Lab putters has completely changed from "What the hell is that thing?" to "Oh yeah I've seen or tried that and it puts an amazing roll on the ball. I'm thinking about ordering one soon." It's amazing how the narrative has changed around the Lab brand and it's awesome to see for them.
  5. My Lab Mezz Max arrived. 37" with a Superstroke XL 3.0 grip (Camilo Villegas style)
  6. Is the dispersion of the shots based on the club for all shots or just the shots recorded on that particular hole. It would be useful to have both options
  7. I've been using these irons for a while now, here is the set I'm gaming.
  8. It's very, very addictive. Everytime you hit one it sounds like it was crushed.
  9. So far it's been pretty good. Very long and pretty easy to hit. I found the stock chrome 2.0 shaft gave me a left miss that I wasnt used to so I'm going to play around with some shafts to see if I can get it to have a slight left to right bias instead.
  10. 3 months to wait for it to arrive made it a no for me. The fad will be over by then and everyone will be ditching their regret purchase... I'll snag one then
  11. Played the first round of my county Amateur competition and this happened Looks like I'm going to be playing this ball for the foreseeable future.
  12. I'm weak... Found a set of these Nike VR Forged Pro Combo irons 3-PW at my local Dicks Sporting Goods. They are super clean and no browning on the faces. These are going to turn out nice!
  13. I wonder if you would have the same result if you did a blind test and didn't know which ball was which?
  14. Had never played Hogan irons before but picked up a combo set used and rebuilt them. Played my first round today and wow, these are phenomenal irons!
  15. If this ball has 4 layers like they advertise on the box, you must need a microscope to find one of them. I don't know how they can say there's 4 here.
  16. I have another 2 rounds under my belt with the Oncore Vero X2 over the past 2 weeks and I finally have one that I feel has been beat up enough that I can cut it open (pics coming soon). I shot 73 in both rounds and I feel at this point I can definitely say that this ball does not want to curve as much as other balls I've used in the past. I've made a few quite wonky swings with the driver that have felt like big slices and looked up to find the ball just fading 10 yards to the right and usually still in the fairway. There were two drives this past weekend that I KNEW I had hit it way right and the ball just didn't drift as far as I was sure it was going to. I've also tried to hit some cuts and draws around curves at the course I play and the ball barely moves. I've gotten used to it and it's become very reliable to know you just aren't going to get much movement and no big surprises. Anyone else finding this to be true for them?
  17. Not having any play on the highest level tour probably won't help the business much. The PGA tour still drives a lot of sales for major OEM companies (if they capture the right players and exposure).
  18. I saw the Srixon ZStar diamond was posted in the ball lab review. I'd love for Tony to test the Vero X2. For the price of this ball, it needs to test highly!
  19. TBH I only had that one round on it so far and then have been testing the Oncore so I'd have to play more with it to better answer your question. It was really good that one round though!
  20. To be fair, one of those rounds was shot using the Snell MTB Prime X ball that I got before I received the OnCore balls but 2 out of 3 ain't bad either!
  21. Welp, played again today with the Vero X2 ball. We had some mist/drizzle throughout the day but no full on rain for a change! Ended up shooting another 69 and am kind of shocked to be honest. After posting my review the other night, I payed more attention to the dispersion and how much the ball seemed to move on my shots today. Since we didn't have the rain, I was really able to get a better idea of how much the ball actually curved. The packaging claims "the perimeter weighting significantly reduces side spin" and I'll have to say I'm starting to believe this. I tried to hit some cut shots today that had to bend a little around corners and found it very tough to get the ball to move much. I ended up hitting 8/14 (57%) fairways and 79% of my approach shots hit the green (missed 3 greens) which is pretty outstanding! Of the shots that missed the fairway, they ended up being barely off as you can see from the ShotScope tracking and the farthest shot off the fairway was only 8 yards (left).
