  1. I don't have one. I don't play in tournaments so, I see no reason to pay for one. I'm a low 80's high 70's player. I have no idea what that equates to.... and I don't care...lol.
  2. Yes! It's nice to be able to just play and not wait or be pushed. Too bad it doesn't happen more often!
  3. I took the day off work and played 18 holes. It was 43* and calm. I decided I was going to see how long it took to play with no one else with me or on the course in front of me. I also decided I would play with no beer or alcohol at all . It turns out that I can get through a round in about 2 hrs. 45 minutes. It also turns out I can play decent without any alcohol involved and keeping the pace of play steady. I shot 37 and 39 for a 76 total. It was a good day!
  4. I completely understand about the putting thing. I'm having the same problem... have been for the last 6 weeks. It's frustrating, because you know the score would be so much better if you could just get the ball in the hole on short putts!
  5. Very strange round today. I had 3 double bogies on the front 9 and 2 on the back. I had 3 birdies on the front 9 and 2 on the back. I shot 79 for the round. Talk about inconsistent!
  6. I shot in the 70's two days in a row... pretty happy with that. 76 today, from the blue tees. I usually play from the whites, but there was no one behind me, so........... The driver has been kind of erratic and I'm pulling my irons left for some reason, but was able to get up and down enough to save the rounds. I hope those two areas straighten up...literally, pretty soon...lol.
  7. Played by myself today...on vacation. I shot 75. It could have been at least 4 strokes better, but.... I can't putt! It's just amazing to me how many putts at 4-5 feet I just push right.
  8. I get the distinct feeling that I would really enjoy playing a round of golf with you.
  9. I ride 99% of the time. If I'm playing alone (rarely) I like to walk. I use a pull cart when I do. It's rare that I walk because my home course is so crowded and most of the people playing are just very casual players that are just drinking and having a fun day. Walking when it's like that is a recipe for altercations with people, because they think you are slow because you are walking.
  10. Ditto! I have to say though, they didn't look good again.
  11. Ohio State was not very impressive. A win is a win, but damn... Just pick a QB and stick with him! J.T. Barrett should start. He's a better QB than Jones, IMO.
  12. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit!
  13. If you're talking about who I think you are, I'll take the latter.
  14. Once again.... IF I could putt, I would have shot somewhere around 75 today. As it stands, I can't buy a put inside 4'. I have no idea what the problem is, but it's just killing my game. I shot 86 today.... which is just unacceptable to me.
  15. After almost giving up on the year, I seem to have found my mojo again. It was as simple as concentrating on tempo. A buddy said I was way quick at the top and starting my downswing almost violently. I slowed it down and I shot 79 on Sunday. For the record, I'm never unhappy when the score has a 7 in front of it.
  16. I'm sorry it went bad for you, but it makes me feel better knowing this stuff happens to almost scratch players too!
  17. Thanks Rev. I appreciate it. This happened to me about 5 years ago, also. It lasted for almost 2 months and then it just went away and I could play again. I have no doubt it is something simple. I just can't put my finger on it. I haven't seen the pro at my home course for a while. I have taken a few lessons from him in the past and he has helped me a lot. I'll have to ask tomorrow when I attempt to play again if he is still teaching.
  18. Well, I'm almost ready to put the sticks away for the rest of the season. I started having problems with my irons a couple of weeks ago. Everything goes right, almost like a shank, but not quite. It's spilled over into the rest of my game now. I can't get off the tee with the driver or the irons. I can't chip or putt anymore. You know how Tiger looked a few months ago?.... that's me right now. My last 3 rounds have been 94 - 51 for 9 holes on league - and 99 yesterday. It's like I've never played the game before. It's no fun and it's embarrassing to play in front of other people. I have no clue what's wrong or how to fix it.
  19. I'm not sure that a different "method" is what is being presented here, as much as a different take on what the swing truly is and what happens during it?
  20. I have a couple of questions. I'm far from a scientific kind of guy. I see in your swing model that it consists of one "arm". We all use two arms. Which arm does your model represent if we are right handed? How does the other arm affect this swing/RYKE angle?
  21. So.... is this RYKE angle achieved by holding your arms out farther from your body during the swing?
  22. Thanks. that is exactly what I was fighting all day...lol.
  23. It was a very different round today. This was my 3rd time out this year. The wind was relentless. I don't play in wind a lot, so it was a challenge for me. I found myself 1-2 clubs wrong all day. I just don't have enough experience playing in really windy conditions to know what to do. It was so bad, putts would blow off line. Despite the wind, I managed to shoot 82. It could have been quite a good round (for me) if I had more experience and know how, to deal with the windy conditions.
  24. First practice of the year for league. I shot a + 2, 36 on the front nine. I'm not complaining one bit for the first time out!
