  1. I'm sorry to hear that ole gray. My dogs are 9 and 10. My big boy...150 lbs. doesn't do well after playing with him outside. He loves to chase a tennis ball, but he isn't the same for a day or so after. I'm afraid I'm going to have to tame it down a little. It's going to be a very hard day when the time comes for him. He's just the biggest, sweetest, giant baby............ I can't even think about it without tearing up.
  2. I'm not a big club cleaner. I wipe with a towel and use a brush to clean the grooves after a shot. Other than that, I might clean them with dish detergent and warm water a couple times a year. I am a grip fanatic, though! I do keep them clean. I wash them every couple of weeks and then rub them down with alcohol to keep them tacky. I've switched to Pure Grips this year so, maybe won't have to clean as much.
  3. I'll donate as soon as possible. This place is great. I'm not as financially stable as I once was. Don't get divorced in your mid 50's..... be nice to your wives... you don't want to be me...lol.
  4. I had some Southern Tier Double Milk Stout on Thursday evening. It was amazing! Just as good as Dragon's Milk, and more affordable.
  5. Wild Turkey Rare Breed and Old Grand dad Bonded........... straight up neat, in a Glencairn glass. I might even dip into some Knob Creek before the night is through. I'm just hangin' out with the boys (my dogs) so, what the hell!
  6. I think that no one knows but Tiger. I'd love to see him come back and just be competitive. Having back problems myself, I understand how hard it is. Playing on the pro level has to be that much more troublesome with a bad back. I don't bother myself with Tiger's off course, personal life/behavior. I love/d watching Tiger the golfer. I hope to see a little more of him in the future. Hell... he's just a young pup at 41.
  7. !@#$%^&*... just ordered new spikes for my shoes, only to find out too late that they won't fit. I ordered Champ Pro Stingers for my 2014 D.N.A's and I just found out that they take the P.I.N.S system. Why can't they just use the same damn system for all their shoes!? I never even knew about this one!@#*&^%$#!!!!!
  8. I like Blanton's too. I just refuse to pay the price for it anymore. It's always been a very good Bourbon, but it also has always been overpriced for what it is. Just my .02.
  9. I've tried all of the grips. I started with 10 finger, then, interlock. My brother told me to try the overlap (Vardon)..... I find the Vardon the most comfortable and natural.
  10. You guys that like the Sherry Cask stuff....... ever had Aberlour A'bunadh? It's a Sherry bomb! I love all scotch. I just have an affinity for the peated stuff...lol.
  11. This evening, it's good old Wild Turkey 101.
  12. I do love good Tequila.... and Mezcal!
  13. I'm partial to the Isla offerings... I love the peat! Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain. Talsker is also a favorite.
  14. Are there any Scotch drinkers other than Rev and myself? If so.... what do you like?
  15. Bourbon IS whisk(e)y. All Bourbon is whisk(e)y.... not all whisk(e)y is Bourbon. To be Bourbon, it must be made in the USA. It must be aged in new, charred, oak barrels (almost exclusively White Oak). It must be aged no less than two years to be Straight Bourbon. It must be at least 51% corn. It must be distilled at 160 proof or less. It must go in the barrel at 125 proof or less. It cannot contain any additives or flavoring. Scotch.............. later...lol.
  16. You'll be ok Rev. You have a great support group, with the "Man" being most prominant. I'll drink with you any day!
  17. Tonight, an old favorite... George Dickel #12.
  18. You guys are all smarter than me. I just build s**t...lol.
  19. Well, I decided to go ahead and cut 1/2" off. It's now a just a bit under 44 1/2". I already like the way it feels. You wouldn't think 1/2" would be that noticeable, but it is. I'm 5' 8 1/2"+ with a 29" inseam and long arms. I've always felt like I have too much club hanging out there.... and I tend to push my drives right when I'm off. I'm hoping this helps with that. If not, I'll just chalk it up to a learning experience and get another shaft...lol.
  20. Another question before I decide to cut or not. Where is the measurment taken from? Is it just the shaft or the whole cub? ...and from where to where if the whole club?
  21. Good post Rev.... and definitely worth thinking about before cutting my shaft down.
  22. I have those on my clubs now. I'm replacing them with Pure Grips for the reason you listed. They just didn't hold up very well for me. other than that, I liked them.
  23. I still use an Aldila RIP 60 in my 913 D3. (love it) I think it's 45". I'm going to re-grip very soon and I might cut 1/2" -3/4" off of it. If it takes a bit of lead tape.... so be it. I'd rather find more fairways and be 10 yards shorter.
  24. I don't know about you guys that get to play year round in decent weather, but us guys in Ohio think 40 anything is a good score (9 holes) the first couple of times out.
