  1. Played on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday I shot 82 from the tips. Played pretty well with a few bad swings that cost me.

Wednesday I played from the whites since there was a skins game and I wanted to win some money. No birdies and shot 92. Fairly certain that I have the yips from 40-100 yards although I've never experienced them before and always thought they weren't real. I must have chunked at least 14 shots in that distance range. Frustrating to say the least.

It was so bad that the guys after the round were joking asking if I could give them lessons on wedge play. We had a good laugh about it, but I need to get it sorted out. The season is pretty much over, but I need to keep my pride in tact. It also seems like it's starting to leak into my iron shots.

The good news is that I've been driving the ball and putting well.

  2. Played nine with my son yesterday getting ready for his tournament today. Shot a number that was not important since it was a day for him. He played today and finished well in his flight for the Jr. Club Championship. More importantly he had a lot of fun and wants to get better. Picture of him and his playing partners on the final hole. My son is on the right.

That pose. He already looks like a boss.

  3. I got ace #2 last evening in league play. 135 yd par 3. Hit 4' over the pin and spun back in the hole. It was cool, but it was a bit expensive to buy all the beer at the end...lol.

Congrats man! I'm still waiting for my first one. I'll blame it on our course only having two par 3s. Our club covers the first $300 if someone gets one which is nice.

  4. Lost my match today on 18. Struggled, had plenty of opportunities to win just couldn't capitalize. Spent a few hours at the range afterwards. Really need to start putting the practice time in again.

  5. Sometimes the golf gods smile on your game.

I played a mediocre 18 on a fun course with two friends today. I doubled 17 and put my shot on the edge of the green on 18, 45 feet from the pin. As we got out of the cart, my golf partner told me to end the day well with a par. I turned to him and jokingly asked "Why not a birdie?"

"You called that one," he yelled as he fist bumped me after draining the putt.

Even blind pigs find an acorn every once in a while.

The only thing I got out of this was pigs and acorns. Well done. Also, good putt.

  6. Shot 82 from the tips today with two buddies. I figured out my iron/wedge issues after the front 9 they were getting to far back in my stance and I was getting pretty steep. Moved it a bit forward and started hitting solid shots again. Left a bunch of shots out there but think I made some good progress with my driver and irons so looking forward to tomorrow and Sunday.

  7. Its annoying as hell man. Please tell me you at least got up and down? That would help a little. Small victories and what not.

To make things worse on mine, there wasn't the slightest mark on the edge of the cup or anything. So it literally flew in dead center and hopped out after touching the bottom.

We play a stupid game lol

Fortunately I did. If I had made bogey there may have been more curse words and/or a club tossed around.

  8. Have you tried any other "players" hybrids, like the Callaway Apex, Titliest 916 or whatever the current Srixon hybrid (I forgot the codename for it) is?

I'm currently on the look out for a new fairway wood, either Callaway XR (2015) or Taylormade M2.

Haven't tried those. Used to play 913 hybrids that weren't too bad with the adjustability. Everything else I've tried was a hook machine. I'be been looking at either the M1 hybrid or Adams Red for the ability to put the 25g weight in the toe. The Red is the substantially cheaper option.

  9. @Jmikecpa you must have gotten the good karma going for us bc I did something similar.

Great round fo me today after yesterday's $hit show. Showed up just before the tee time and walked right out and played without so much as a warm up. 8 fairways, 16 greens and while I didn't putt well, no 3 putts. Hell both missed GIR were on the fringe. We did have a 30 min rain delay on 11 and I finished the last 3 holes in a solid rain. So I guess I sorta got lucky with the weather not being too bad with lightning. Finished up by rolling in around an 80 footer on 18 for 67!

I did have a first today. Hit a 65 yard wedge shot into the par 5 5th and it hit the stick, went in the hole and kicked out to 5 feet. Literally dunked it, it touched the bottom of cup, said "no thanks" and kicked out. I would've been so pissed if I had missed the 5 footer for birdie haha.

Hit a shot from 85 yards. Pitched 3 feet from the stick, hit it and bounced off, rolled 20 feet back off the green. Would've been tight if it didn't hit the stick.

  10. Played 36 yesterday after my 24 hour work shift on no sleep. Shot 85 from the blues in the morning followed by 82 from the whites in the afternoon. Best 9 was the back 9 of the afternoon round with 39 (2 over).

For some reason, I'm not hitting my irons or wedges solid. Hitting a lot of thin shots. It's driving me crazy.

  11. Honestly I didn't think it was that tough except for a few holes where it was like 200+ carry to the fairway. I just hit lots of awful shots. The greens were slow and I didn't think they were that challenging with undulations.

I couldn't adjust to the slow greens. Was it windy?

  12. I'm playing there tomorrow morning! How was the course overall and is there any breeze in there?

Course was in good shape. Front 9 pretty much winds along the bay and the back 9 is more inland along the marshes with more trees. There was a good breeze on the front 9 so it wasn't too hot. Got a lot hotter and less breezy on the back 9. We teed off at noon though.

Greens were in good shape just pretty slow but I'm use to greens that run around 12. Should've hit the putting green instead of the range beforehand.

  13. Haven't been able to play as much as I'd like this month. Got to play Lighthouse Sound in Ocean City, MD with a college buddy the other day. Hit my driver particularly well. Irons weren't solid but had a decent round going.

Had a Tin Cup moment on 18. Par 5 dogleg left. Bombed a drive that left me with 160 in. Pulled 8 iron and shanked it into the weeds, gone. Dropped another ball and held it off way too much, into the bay left of the green. Dropped another ball and hit it to 15 feet. Two putts for an 8. Ended with 84.

All in all had fun and it's a pretty cool track. Will be going back.
