  1. I also missed this, but looks like hard did an article in the r10 a couple days ago. https://mygolfspy.com/garmin-r10-review/
  2. Sometimes it is funny how life works out. I've had this article waiting in the wings for a few weeks now for the right time to post. We have had so much going on I didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle. For starters I'm an Android/Chrome OS user. I have my Chromebook and in my homeoffice I have a HP Chromebase as well as my phones are Android devices. Chromeunboxed is one of my go to youtube channels and sites to read up on the goings on and it was interesting me to see that he is an avid golfer. I should have known with the golf clubs often in the backdrop of videos, but when I saw this (video first then article) I really wanted to share it to all. So please check it out and let me know you think https://chromeunboxed.com/chromebook-chrome-os-golf-simulator-garmin-r10-awesome-golf/ Wait there is more though. I said it is funny how life works. I have been selling off some older golfing kit here and a guy reached out to me wanting to by an older set of irons I had. He is new to the game and caught the bug hard! I mean went full out with home setup and net, putting matt and everything. He lives about an hour away and got to chatting via messages while finding a good time for him to come pick up the irons. Unfortunately he was a bit cash strapped, but sold his older irons (ladies clubs) and still really wanted to pick them up. He proposed he would leave his Garmin R10 with me as a swap while he waited for his next pay (In Switzerland we are paid once per month). Of course with me having this article waiting for timing I instantly said yes. Now I get 2-3 weeks to try this thing out, see if it works as well as it did for the Chromeunboxed crew and get some extra fun practice in at home and the range. First impressions of the Garmin R10 without turning it on are kinda wow. It is so sleek and just a really nice looking device. The case has a premium feel to it and overall just impressive. Hopefully later today it stops raining and I'll get a chance to his some balls to see how it works. Again not quite finished. It somewhat seems when it rains in pours because another related article came across my feed which also was right in line with all of this. https://golficity.com/breaking-garmin-approach-r10-launch-monitor-now-supports-titleist-rct-ball/ Garmin now supports the Titleist RCT Ball which should significantly help its readings and numbers in terms of reliability. I'm not sure if I'll be able to find any of the golf balls in time to try it out, but I will go on the hunt to try and find it. I know we have an R10 thread already and it has had some mixed reviews, but I'll do my best to keep this updated with my findings along the way and who knows may it will impress enough to make the dip and purchase one. I have a Rapsodo and although I enjoyed it, the use hasn't been nearly what I was hoping for anymore. Especially now with the premium membership now gone I really don't know how often I'll take it out as I am looking for more of a simulator vs a practice device. What do you think? Would the Chrome OS system with R10 be a good budget simulator option for you? Have you tried and used the R10? What would your preferred budget friend sim option be?
  3. This one is interesting to me. I think I would still lean towards GC3 or Bushnell vs this, however if I had the space there is no question that this would be in the running. I haven't used one or seen one in use as of yet, however there are so many different systems here its kinda hard to keep track of them all!
  4. That is the question I'm very curious about with Ivan. He is only 7 months but if i was to bet i would guess he is a lefty. Nearly all his play habits and such are left hand dominant.
  5. The last week or so it has been really wet here thankfully. Was needed and now our yard finally looks green as well!
  6. Ivan had his first round of golf with me! Walked 9 holes on one of the nicest courses I've played here in Switzerland. He was a great caddy and other than one bad driver call off the tee I would say he has a good head for the game
  7. You and I have had a similar experience. I've had the modus 105 in the last couple sets of irons I've had and truly have loved them. However with a increase of swing speed they became a bit softer and when I wanted my new irons I wanted to go down a different route and went KBS Tour V 90 (which for the record is a tougher shaft profile to find online - kbs site has Tour V and Tour 90). These are a bit heavier then the modus 105 at 110 grams vs the 106.5 that nippons are. The feel in them is great, I'm really happy with them so far. They don't feel that much different then the nippons as a whole and if I was to characterize the shaft differences I would say the prevailing feeling of the 105's is the word Smooth vs the KBS Tour 90 is Stable. Just my own feeling of the differences between the two, however I agree with you definitely if you have a chance check them out at KBS and with all their options I'm sure they will have one that works for you. For a bit more reference the XP95's are just about the worst shaft for me and DG just seem to feel a bit on the heavy side and make me work too hard to get the results I want. Thank you KBS and looking forward to trying out more of their products in the future!
  8. I mean in theory as long as there is any loft sleeve available it would be possible to do. I use to do that with my Cobra driver which had a right handed sleeve making the draw setting a fade setting. Talking to more guys in the local shop they have a increase of lefties and have specific left handed testing shafts there now so they can do a "normal" fitting with them and then if they need fade they pull one of the right handed shafts.
  9. Definitely check them out. I've been really impressed with the TC so far!
  10. Updated photo of the 5b iron with lead tape. Only a couple grams but made a world of difference in launch and forgiveness.
  11. My vote would be no change... But if you really wanted to I would go with Acewhoop_whoop.
  12. Yeah it's basically 10% so not that difficult, but certainly is an adjustment. I've slowly for me use to it, but it's made learning distances for the new irons tricky because I'm also getting use to another form of numbers/standards.
  13. No, sadly not. The only non Sub70 numbers were the first 3 which were the i210 8 iron.
  14. Oh yeah and it's all in meters so have fun with the conversion haha!
  15. Haven't had a chance to dice into the data too much but here were the numbers from today. Big thanks to the nicest golf shop around Golfers Paradise Dietikon! I did take a few bad shots out, however the swing felt really good!
  16. Just me or does Kisner seem like the odd pick there? I don't recall him having a stellar season or doing too much. However I'm a bit at a loss as to who should replace him too.
  17. Ping is another with the serial numbers which you can check into. When I lived in Canada I purchased a fair bit through ebay with a good amount of success. It really isn't a thing here in Switzerland so I can't say how it is now vs a couple years ago. I think there are always a certain risk, but also believe there are certain products that are more likely be subject to counterfeited vs others.
  18. Looking like Mondays are the best day.. Starting next week I'll Upload it Monday morning my time so when all you get up and are starting your day you'll have them there to view!
  19. For me would have to go with Mike Weir. Canadian and Lefty and someone who I admired both his attitude and demeanor on and off the golf course. He did so much for the game in Canada and catapulted its popularity for a long time as well as was always an easy guy to root for. Him being a slightly smaller guy and not the longer hitter was much like me as a junior/younger golfer and again being a lefty helped a lot. I know he wasn't the most successful, but he made a lasting impression on me and my golf game. It has also been really nice to see his resurgence the last couple years and him being more competitive in various events across a number of good fields!
  20. Definitely not what I said. I said that there are other threads to discuss that side of things if you so choose to. Again this could be a interesting topic for some, not all just like many. Simply trying to keep the topic at hand here for those who may be interested in this or talk about it. If it is just going to go down that rabbit hole and never touch base on the topic of the video there is little reason to have the thread up about video when it can be on another thread.
  21. For me this happens when I just get too quick with my swing. Or at least that is the feeling I associate with it. I try to slow things down a bit and it seems to return to normal however this is something that often plagues my game and both my driver and woods/hyrbids.
  22. So I'll say this is a trend when I've received new irons is I struggle enormously with toe strikes. Like missing the grooves toe strikes. Thankfully as the more practice has come along the strikes are getting much better. Also keep in mind these blade lengths are much much shorter then the i210 I had/have. Forgiveness is okay. Certainly more punishing then the i210, but the feel is so much greater that it really allows you to feel where you are striking the ball with each hit. The center/near center strikes feel phenomenal and so solid. I wouldn't say super soft... soft, but really solid and powerful which is a fun feeling. I'll have more to report once I get my swing into gear and actually find that consistency I'm looking for.
  23. I go back and forth. I will say I've had my best ever round when hovering, but my swing is currently a mess so maybe I'll have to make the effort to get a better hover in my swing and that will help?
