  1. Glad he likes carrots. Good pup.
  2. The bad is behind you so just let it be. Good will be next week with a new challenge for you.
  3. Have to admit, I have a tendency to choke down a little bit, 1/2 in maybe. More of a feel thing than an actual swing thought.
  4. Where there is a will... She probably crawled under the lamp stand. Beautiful pup.
  5. @CsBear glad to see /hear that you posted. Hope for many more from you. Go for it.
  6. Thanks WP and of course, you are 100% correct. Went out today, same course, same 9, hole locations a little different. I thought wind was going to be my biggest concern.(25mph with gusts of 33) I was generally pretty happy with ball striking today. Actually hit fairways and 5 GIR. Shot 39 which was much better than yesterday for sure. My downfall? I had three, 3 putt greens. Nope wind didn't cause any of it. It was the $%#@^%$ deerflies. I always had 4 or 5 deer flies constantly biting and buzzing my head. Even flying under my eyeglasses when I was putting. Talk about losing my concentration. Not sure if it was the white shirt or not but geez o peez. They were horrible today.
  7. Holy moly. What a meltdown at league today. Totally befuddled as far as why it went so wrong. I guess it's just golf. I couldn't even get mad cause it didn't make sense. Four double bogies, 3 pars, 2 bogies. Just one of those days, I guess.
  8. Congratulations testers. Have fun and looking forward to your evals.
  9. I'll triple that motion. Love the G400. At 70 I'm still able to carry 200 and I'm AOK with that. Fairways hit at 66% so far this year. I'm OK with that as well.
  10. Oh yah. No bunnies or squirrels allowed in this yard.
  11. After wearing calf high OD Green wool socks for 20+ years any short white sock feels good when I golf. Quarter cut is my favorite length.
  12. Welcome to the forums @PNW1896.
  13. Heavy thunder boomers in the area again today. Went out to the barn to hit some balls into the net to loosen up a bit in prep for league tomorrow AM.
  14. @leichliter_jake. Welcome to the forum. As you've discovered there are many opinions to solve your complex question. Glad to have you aboard. Good luck in this quest.
  15. I usually walk so when it is CPO I generally don't play that day. If it's too wet for carts that means it'll be too wet/muddy for my taste. I'll head to the range on those days.
  16. There are many balls that I've used that I like (mostly found then play balls). Cost has always been a concern for me. Yes, I could afford a Pro V1, but...why when a Callaway ERC Soft or Maxfli seem to work just as well with my game. If I loose one I'm not mad.
  17. Beautiful pup. Welcome to the forums.
  18. Regardless, welcome to the forums. This a great place to ask questions and onbtain some good advice. You'll find that not everyone agrees with each other and that in and of itself is great. You still need to decide. But you'll have lots of information. I'm of the mind set to try before you buy and for the first set not to go hog wild on costs. You may decide golf isn't for you so you don't want to go in debt. I do recommend getting a few lessons from local pro if possible to start your journey out correctly.
  19. Went out with the intent to play today, but after 4 holes the thunder started and the sheets of horizontal rain and 60mph winds happened. Of course, I was at the furthest point. Rain jacket and umbrella really didn't help much on the walk back in. Oh well, good practice and a soft water shower too boot.
  20. @rjlam, welcome to the forums. Always glad to see another Michigander join the group. Have fun this summer playing golf with the fam.
  21. I don't mark mine at all. So seldom do I run across folks and we have the exact same. If it does happen, I just switch. The other easy tell for me is mine will always have a spot of mud on it.
  22. It's been awhile. Between being under the weather and that the weather itself really sucked too boot. Anyway, our 1st league was rained out yesterday so I snuck out between chores today and played 9. 65, partly sunny but wind gusts from the north, northeast at 30. Needed sleeves initially. Down, up and down day. 1st hole directly into the wind, carry over a river, with pond on west side of green. Double bogie. Oh well. I managed the wind better over the next 7 holes, 5 pars and 2 birdies. Things looking pretty good, then the last hole. Straight down wind, ponds and trees on the right side until the dogleg right, then 2 more small ponds on the right. Easy dummy. Just stay left hug the outside of the dleg. Double bogie. Oh well. I did have one of those moments where no matter what else shots. This one shot made the round memorable. I had a nice drive into the wind. Kept it low so it ran a little. I was 156 from the hole and directly into the wind. Used my 4H instead of 5 iron because of that. It took off like one of those low roostertails slowly rising against the wind and then just floating over the green when it dropped and trickled to 10 feet from the pin. Straight, perfect looking shot. Just one of those dream shots. That made my day. The following hole d bogie didn't matter at all.
  23. My ping G400 SFT is standard length, 44.75 or 45 I think. I tinkered with shorter shafts on my Adams FAST Speed 12 but never felt there was any increase in accuracy and certainly not distance. My swing speed is getting slower as I age so I'm concentrating on tempo to obtain as much accuracy and distance that I'm allowed.
  24. Good cleaner for sure.
