srooch2 reacted to JohnSmalls in 2024 Golf Equipment Wish List
The one thing that has been on my mind since the fall. A set of Wilson Staff CBs, w/ DG S300 and either midsized GP Plus 4s or Jumbo Maxs.
But since I get to dream a little, my wedges are getting in the replacement zone, so a set of the new Ping S159 blacked out, Dynapwr 3 & 5w to match the driver; a Jones forum bag, and an endless supply of Left Dash Pro V1x's.
And a black pair of Footjoy ProSL's. And a black shaft/grip combo for my Bettinardi. /dreamwishlist.

Titleist T150 4-9 irons, Standard length, 2* flat and 2* weak, Lamkin crossline full cord grips, 1/2 wrap under bottom hand only, X100 shafts soft stepped, swingweighted to D4. Throw in a Vokey PW @ ~47* to hopefully fill the gap between 9 and my 52* GW, at the same specs.
Still need to update my 3wood from the 906F4 to match my 7wood TSR2.
Would love to add a Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5 in 33" 350g.

For those looking at drivers. I just read this article about a few new ones that may be showing up sometime next year.

I’m still hitting golf balls nearly everyday despite the time change and weather restrictions. I’ve developed a lot of skill and completely play and understand the game differently having a sanctuary to practice at. Picked up a ball shagger which was a great purchase. Playing has gone down and I still play a couple times a week but have to get creative on finding time to go. ✌️

Played 9 today and kept score for the first time in a while. Shot what felt like an easy +2(39) with 1 birdie. It’s good to be back out and trying to score. I had some really good par saves which is what I’m usually most proud of. ✌️

srooch2 got a reaction from Josh Ross in Tester Wanted: Edison Wedges! Sign Up Here!
I play my wedges due mainly to shape and I have fallen in love with the grinds. Nike made great wedges and I have no reason to change but I would love to test some other wedges and see if they can kick them out.
I’m a +5 handicap and rely heavily on my short game and putting. I can confidently give these wedges a true test.

That’s the best way to get better, not going to the range. Find a secluded space you can swing freely and truly practice. ✌🏻

Easy, I would love to get almost any iron in the Kyoei lineup. The new ones dropping have reduced offset which I’m all about. I’d really like ones with that 5 cut sole just to see what it’s like. So final answer, probably the new dual weight MB ✌🏻

@srooch2 Stole mine! I thought I was going to be unique with Kyoei. Definitely the dual weight MB for me, just enough flair to be noticeable but still has some classic appointments:
So I am actually going to go retro, Cleveland CG1 "Black Pearl" blades from a few decades back. I would put Nippon 120S in there with some ferrules (nothing too wild). These things are so good looking. Might remove the cleveland paintfill.

srooch2 reacted to McNasty67 in Vice "Jack Nicklaus Companies" ball release
Not hating on Vice golf, I'm a fan of the Pro & Pro Plus balls, but does anyone find this release a bit disingenuous? Jack & the "Nicklaus Companies", specifically Howard Millstein, have had and continue to have a very public legal battle ongoing. The Nicklaus Companies using his likeness & name on this new ball release seems like a party foul to me, especially on the part of Vice, who I'm sure is counting on the general golfing public's ignorance to this issue.
Do I really care? Not particularly. Is it shady? Definitely.
Overreacting?
Interested to hear others thoughts.
Happy Holidays to all!

srooch2 reacted to MuniGolfer in Shaft Hack - The Otto Phlex Journey
Yeah, just that it may be too high. Might be fine though. I have liked the sub 5 torque shafts so far, and I think that is part of the autoflex magic, is the low torque. If you try it, let me know. The silver kuro kage I had in my Nike was probably my favorite shaft I have ever played and why I look at the black every so often for an OP. I would be interested for sure.
I felt like the ust mp5 reminded me of my old kuro kage, just lighter and faster. I have been a little bummed that the tip disintegrated when I tried to pull it to put into my ping. It probably plays like a firm regular now tipped about in inch and a half. Which is probably fine. I still pulled the trigger on the maltby, since after reading azstu’s thoughts and researching it, it seemed like it would be comparable to where my a-flex mp5 was and the murdered out look with the g425 head sounds cool. Granted, the torque is higher than the kuro kage hbp, so we’ll see i guess. I also finally got a weight kit for that head too, so I can make quick switches and comparisons with all my shafts.

@srooch2 I hear you. When I was working, nearly every lunch period was spent at a park near the office. I'd set up and chip balls to different trees at ranges up to 100 yards. That daily practice convinced me that even at advanced age I could get better than when I was a young dude. I even found a volleyball pit that wasn't used and used that as a landing green. Able to upwards of 150 yard shots. Man, I hated rainy days.

I couldn’t find a profile the shaft you currently use.

In what way? It is a little high but I think it’s been proven that torque only effects feel. I don’t like high torque however for that reason and tend to stick to lower torque shafts. It’s a good shaft though.

I still vote for aldila phenom in the 50 gram and lite flex. I think someone will be happy with that. If you can’t find it used I believe the kuro kage hbp is the same shaft. It might be worth a look and it’s cheap on golfworks.
