Very interesting quote. I've been playing TE Forged for about two years and like them alot. I'm 67 and am getting into the twilight of my playing days, plus I'm an inveterate golf club tinkerer. I bought a TE V4 and TS3 7 iron heads to try a few weeks ago because I'm wanting new irons that have modern lofts. They both feel terrific. I have a TS1 IM head coming today to try out also. I might end up getting those IM heads from you if they are still around in a couple of weeks after I try the 7 iron.
I've played so many different irons in the 40+ years I've been playing golf and I've now come to the conclusion that Maltby irons are an extremely good value (except for resell).

Someone needed to tell him to put the pen away. Otherwise very interesting.

Fortunately the initial cost of Maltby equipment is affordable enough I don’t sweat the resale. It takes time, but I usually find someone who is familiar with the product and wants to try or experiment with them and will buy them.
I really struggled with this comparison because all of the heads are really good and I could play all of them. The TS1-IM seems to be a great combo of all the heads and will work great for a wide range of players.
I’m not actively trying to sell the TS1-IM set yet. I may be getting a full set of Demo TS4’s soon which should help my decision.
If you decide you want these let me know and we can work something out. I’m not playing right now and only hitting on my sim and the occasional range session so I can sell at anytime. I’m not worried about not having a set of irons.

Great question.  I really don’t know.  You should message steel fiber directly.  I’m sure they would help you out.

Not sure if this answers your question, but the i80 has a torque value at 2.8* and the fc90 is at 2.9*. Doesn't necessarily mean the tip is "soft," but by the numbers from the other options these are at least a half degree higher in torque.

The NVS truly works just fine for me. And I just got a MIzuno St-Z 220 with that Tensei shaft in it. Have only hit it once on the course so far. SO far it played well with my swing

Hi Chisag. I was Tom0956 on the GEA forum back in the day.
I have always wanted to try a GD Tour ADxx but never got around to pulling the trigger. I see alot of the ladies using them and always felt if they can find one that fits them I should be able too.
I am always on the lookout for an OG Blueboard in Reg flex but have missed out on two that popped up. I even got into the Kaili line many years ago.
Have you tried or know anything about the DJ?
I've been a regular visitor to Russ Ryden's golf shaft reviews and have gleaned alot of info from there. It's too bad that his website is so difficult to peruse. I wish he'd hire someone to modernize that thing.

What is the difference in the TR and Velocore models. I forgot to mention in my original post that I've tried a Blue in 6 regular. I could really feel the tip stiffness.

I think I should have been more clear. My swingspeed was 105 back in my day. Now I'm sure it's in the low 90's.

I'm 67 and the original Blueboard, back in "my day", was the bee's knees for me. Back then my SS was around 105 and was pretty strong. Now? Ha!! The shafts I've settled into lately are older shafts. One real old...Aldila NVS in regular flex. I also loved the Fuji Motore VC6.1 in Regular flex.
If I was to buy one of the Ventus shafts which one do y'all feel I would like the best. I doubt that there's anything in the Black line and I see more in the Red line on the Champions Tour.

I know it's probably my swing but my titleist hybrids (early model) hook like crazy (right handed golfer here). I don't have that problem hitting the equal in an iron so just hoping that there is a hybrid out there doesn't always make a hard left.

Thanks to all who responded here. You've given me alot to think about this spring.

One of the the hybrids is an adjustable Titleist.
