  1. Let us know how it looks! Hit ‘em straight! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Congrats to the lucky contestants! The bad news is, now you boys have to deal with the rest of us all summer! Looking forward to hearing your stories and watching your progress throughout the summer! Hit 'em straight!
  3. I just picked up a s20 for my dad for his birthday. He Finally expressed interest in knowing yardages easily. So maybe now he’ll hit a (expletive) green in our league! Haha I keep telling him to aim for the back of the green until he flies them 5-6 times a round. He says he takes a longer club, but then ends up swinging easy. Hopefully this will help him find his form and get some of those lost strokes back! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Congrats on breaking 100 for the first time!! I remember the first times I broke 100 or 50 for 9 holes when I was playing against my dad. Great memories for me! Just like that first par or birdie. I’m just as proud of those memories as my personal best 75. Ironically, my friend show his personal best 95 that day. Doesn’t matter what the number is when it’s a new record it’s worth celebrating! Good luck this year in getting better and breaking 90! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Congrats to the testers. Verrry interested to hear the reviews of the Contour Pro. I demoed a putter with it and it is on my short list when it’s time to replace the pistolero on my Newport. I’m interest to see what folks will be comparing it to so I know if there’s anything else worth checking out! Go drain some putts! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Interesting, never heard of them before. Screen on the side reminded me of the bushnell combo gps unit, does it also show you the yardage through the viewfinder? Would seem counterproductive to need to target and check the distance then potentially target again on something else (like using scan mode) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. There really should be one of those badges! It's more rare than a hole in one after all! Source: https://www.pga.com/news/golf-buzz/odds-hole-in-one-albatross-condor I appreciate the thoughtful consideration by the MGS Badge Committee (if such a thing exists).
  8. I’ve paid for an iron fitting there before where we ended up hitting everything except the putter. He made recommendations for it all and worked with my existing driver (switched to the ping tour 65 shaft) and he advised me to sell my 3 wood and buy the 5 wood with tour shaft as well. He even gave me a print out of what my specs should be if I purchased elsewhere. I ended up having my irons built by them because I was interested in having them MOI matched, but there was definitely no pressure to buy from them if I didn’t want to. I even left before calling them back a few days later as I was
  9. The fitting was great, I posted about it in the putter forum. But long story short he did not attempt to change my stroke, but optimize my equipment to it. He even talked about how everyone is different and he stands open so he needs different things. Sounds like the opposite of the old guy. It was a lot of fun to swing clubs that were different to hone in on the best fit. Give my post a read and let me know if you want to know anything else about it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If that’s the case... how can I apply to be a forum moderator?! [emoji23] I’d like to have a built in excuse for lots of golf related activities! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I was just there for a putter fitting, some good guys running that place. Might have to swing down and check out the new drivers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I’ll check that out! It felt real nice on the ping they had it on. I actually have no clue what the swingweight is now. I’m not sure it would be relevant anyway to be honest. Now I feel the weight between my hands, its smooth and stable. But I can still feel the club head in the stroke too. With the total weight being so drastically different you probably would just be able to compare its swingweight to another putter with a large counter balance weight in it. Going between my old set up and new with the weight feels like the old ‘apples to oranges’ comparison. If you haven’t tried a
  13. Well I had a great time at the fitting, and at the end of the day the Scotty will stay! (With some modifications) After I first warmed up we got hooked up to the TOMI machine and Steve had me roll some putts with my current set up. The good news was my face at impact was dead nuts square. 0 degrees average, with one putt being open .4 degrees and one be closed .4 degrees. My path however, was significantly in to out, and my backstroke to forward stroke was quite loopy. (I forgot to save pictures of the output, but will add them later if I can). After we finished with the baseline, he revi
  14. Yup! Back to Spargo, they use TOMI according to the website. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Nice! I know that I should at least have my lie angle adjusted as in a normal stance the toe is a bit up. That’s great that you got fit to the TM. Can’t say I would have thought that first myself either, but I guess that’s further proof that the most wanted lists and testing methods are legit! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Haha you pick up on those things when you’re a lefty too... although I golf righty. [emoji2369] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Didn’t take much to convince the other guys we need to play a round there. Looks like Owl’s Nest and Ridgewood one day and North Conway Country Club and Wentworth Country Club the next. Or maybe we will just play Owl’s nest twice... haha Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Well, its FINALLY that time of year in MA. A sun is feeling warmer, crap is already starting to grow out of the leaves from last fall in my flower beds, and my golf league draft is happening on Sunday. A few years ago I was ready to upgrade my clubs and went down to Spargo Golf in Cranston, RI to be fit. I already had a G30 driver and FW, and a Scotty Cameron Newport Select Putter that I liked, but was there for an iron fitting. I really enjoyed the experience and have seen clearly that the fitting has helped me play better golf. As I’ve been reading more and more about putter fittings a
  19. Wow! Incredible opportunity! 1. Bryan, Massachusetts, 35+ rounds per year. Weekly league play, two weekend trips planned already too! 2. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat 3. Currently 8.9 Handicap Index. 105mph driver swing speed 4. Currently playing Ping G30 Woods and Hybrids, Titleist 714 AP2 Irons, Vokey SM5 Wedges, and a Scotty Cameron Newport Putter. 5. I would love the opportunity to try the F9 Tour length driver, and a combo of the F9 fairway, hybrid, conventional irons, and King wedges. #powertotheplayer #CobraConnectChallenge3 #letsdothis Sent from my iPad using Tapa
  20. This. I had a hi-bore XLS and wow that thing was loud. I used to go to a range that had brick walls between hitting bays... I hit my driver exactly one time in one of those bays. I think I can still hear the ringing today!
  21. I figure since that article is old rather than commenting on it I would drop a line here. Simple-ish question. Towards the end of the article they have this chart which shows how performance changes as you move up, down, forward, or back of existing CG: What I was curious about is, if we go down and back 1mm, is the spin change negated while launch is raised, or is it not a linear relationship? So does going down 1mm have a greater/lesser impact on spin than going back 1mm. Thanks, Bryan
  22. Hey, I did it strictly to fill in my yardage gaps. I hit the 5 hybrid 15 or so yards further than the 5 iron. It looks a little odd, but I wanted it to slot in as a 4 iron distance for longer approach shots where they hybrid helps Launch a little higher and hold the greens better. In all honestly I probably hit the 5 iron about 7 times a year on the course, for some reason I’m not at that yardage often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Was cleaning out the bag getting ready for this season. I like to collect yardage books when they’re available, got a pretty good stack now. Might have to leave them out unless I’m heading to that course. All ready for this season now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Could you please add Broke 80 and I think I've seen an albatross badge floating around? Thanks, Will follow up for a Donor badge after I do that. I appreciate the work the MGS is doing for golfers! #powertotheplayer
