  1. He can't get enough of it! It's fun to play with him... but he's already telling me he's gonna kick my butt. haha I'm looking forward to playing with him, my brother, and my dad this weekend. It will be the first time we've all done that! I even got the old man to agree to an early tee time by reminding him of that fact.
  2. Had a really good range session this afternoon. Jackson was able to come with me as school had to close early due a water issue that required them to turn it off, which meant the kids needed to be released early. I wanted to go to the range on lunch today anyway, so it was a perfect storm. I had done a planemate workout earlier in the day and still felt like I had it on when I was loosening up with some chips and pitches. Got into some longer shots and was peppering this flag at about 100 yards. I liked this one a lot because I swing down ever so slightly under the plane of my takeaway, which is new for me. The real highlight was the long game though. I set a new personal best swing speed! Still not quite in the @Chip Strokes club, but I consistently hit balls in the 114-116 range today. I had been getting a little frustrated with some of my drives lately to the point I decided to adjust until I felt like I was hitting good shots. I ended up going to the full +1.5* setting on Speedzone to help close the face, as well as taking a slightly stronger top hand. It appears to have worked, well at least for today! A few things stand out to me there. 1. The sound. I still LOVE the sound of the Speedzone, and it seems to get better with more speed. This swing registered 114 on the radar. 2. More planemate progress. Club face and spine are a nice match here 3. Whoa! I actually loaded the shaft! On top of that, Jackson had a blast. Jackson and I will be playing with my Dad and brother on Sunday, so we’ll see if we’re still both hitting bombs, but until then… well, Jacksons sign off is probably better
  3. Woo! Won't matter when you're shooting in the 70's with the Cobra gear! #TeamChad #FTW #CobraConnect5
  4. I got excited with all the talk in here this morning... I checked and my team still sucks major buzz kill.
  5. Nice! Interested to hear your take on that process. Good luck!
  6. Nice! I had that on mine for a short stint... I did really like it, but I’m not the biggest fan of the poly grips, and I missed the pistol shape. I got a hold of their new Tour Tac grip and I though that one felt reallly good. I might need to check out one of those in a year or two. Annnd? What else accidentally got added to the cart?
  7. Welcome to the forums @CDance84! As Mark mentioned, you’re in a pretty good spot with a bunch of members in the area! Getting from the high single digits to low single digits in my goal too. After last season I got down to a 6.4 according to Diablo Golf (still the old way of calculating, but it’s not too far off). I’m trying to cut that in half this season, or better! Do you use any stat tracking apps or have anyway to identify that 125 and in is your key weakness? Arccos taught me that. I need to do better on basically all of my approach play. But my putting is a real strong point for me.
  8. I had actually NOT seen that part of the report earlier. Maybe skipped it accidentally but I noticed it right away on the ranking that they were just OK with those metrics. I was surprised I didn’t read anything about it in the article itself. Edit: found out why... that blurb is showing up after the ball comparison tableau dashboard. So I didn’t read down past that part. I started playing with the chart there and saw the ranking then got distracted by something else.
  9. Yeah based on the story I would have been pissed too. two weeks ago a guy sent a hosel rocket piss missile of a wedge straight at @Lacassem, myself, and our two boys. The tee box is probably 25ish yards in the shank direction of the green so it’s not surprising... but he was profusely apologetic and made sure everyone was ok.
  10. Remind me never to hit into you. I don’t know what would be worse, actually hitting into you, or needing to walk another hundred yards back from the tee to get my ball after it sails over my head.
  11. Woof that stinks. At least they’re being good about it for you. I wouldn’t be shocked to hear stories of stores saying it was delivered and trying to wash their hands with you and making you work with FedEx. I have a fitting upcoming to see if I’m leaving anything on the table driver wise and man I hope I’m not because the wait time will drive me crazy! Haha
  12. Yeah, I keep feeling like the words say things are getting better with the Callaway balls, but the final number is still lower than I’d expect to see. I was even a little shocked to see it was only 73/100 considering there was only one bad ball. It seems like they’re still having ball to ball consistency issues even if they’re still good enough to not fail.
  13. Wow that’s fantastic that the joint pain was eliminated with the switch. One of these days I’ll have to give MMT’s a shot in the irons. I tend to like heavyish shafts, but see no reason to exclude graphite if the weight is there to keep my swing in sync. Knowing that we’ve preferred similar shafts in the past means I’ll hopefully check out the TX flex as well.
  14. Ah the first putter I bought for myself was one of the White Hot XH models. Used it for many many years. Now I’m a sucker for a milled face. Or at least a firmer insert. tough decisions, but bag appeal has to go to Cobra!
  15. @jlukes you can tell your friend they use FedEx. Some of our stuff was overnighted last year too.
  16. Ordered 2 dozen Pro V1x balls from Golfballs.com with the AlignXL personalization. Their normal coupon codes don't work with Titleist, but the subscribe and save option does get you free shipping and $5 off each dozen. I might have gotten another 2 dozen Snell MTB-X but they have a shortage and have temporarily stopped selling to wholesalers like golfballs.com until supply is back. Since I wanted the line they were out of the running.
  17. Since being fit I’ve had two putters bent -3ish degrees to be 67* lie angle. One was a Scotty Cameron Newport with a standard plumber’s neck, and the other was my current Evnroll ER2B with a single bend shaft. I can’t imagine you wouldn’t be able to adjust it for a proper fit.
  18. I have to say I enjoy trying out putters maybe more than any other club in the bag. So many different shapes, sizes, and colors. but when it comes time to actually play one on the course I’m pretty loyal and don’t change often.
  19. Excuse me... did you say “Frost” delay?! It’s practically June!!!
  20. Well I’m pretty sure thats more golf than I have managed yet this year! Nothing irks me more than a double or triple bogey on par 5s. I feel your pain. I had a round like you with the driver a few weeks ago, couldn’t hit a decent drive for my life. I think I had 3 go over average that day and one of them was more lucky than good. That’s awesome that you got to play so many rounds though, I was supposed to play yesterday but rain/wind/cool temps put that on hold.
  21. Thinking about @Lacassem’s Motore X Shaft. My wife gets concerned when I talk to her about his shaft... but I feel like this is a safe place. I know last time I tried the Motore X I said it felt very similar to the Ventus Blue, but I was picking up on some more smoothness and load today when I swung it. I’m sort of wondering if a Epic Max LS and Motore X would be killer for me.
  22. While rain postponed yesterday round, going to the store to replace Jackson’s broken driver meant I wasn’t the only one in the house who wanted to go to the range today. Took a trip this afternoon and tried to feel like I was maintaining my bend in the downswing. And man did I hit a few pure. I hit several shots that were right at the 100 yard flag, one that might have hit the stick from 148, and a 175 yard 7-iron that would have been a real good birdie opportunity. I’m really starting to hit my stride with the Modus 120x and love the feel. As always when I go with @Lacassem and my brother we like to play a few games. Today I decided it would be fun to take a few swings with his Radspeed + Motore X combo. Except unlike last time where I barely got it off the ground (there’s a.... 4ish degree difference in our lofts) I made sure to swing up on it. Hit an absolute bomb that Mark caught on camera (thanks for the evidence). Thanks to the few extra swings I got with it I’m seriously contemplating if it might be a better fit in the big stick for me than the Ventus Blue 6x. The Motore X feels incredibly smooth but still stable. We had the radar out again and Mark must have been swinging well within himself as we were both registering around 110 mark. I hit 111 a few times and 112 once, but the result was.... less than ideal.
  23. Whoa!!! Awesome job! Congrats on the accomplishment.
  24. Hit the TSi2 hybrid today with the Tensei White 90s shaft. The weight felt great and I didn’t have nearly as many left shots. But they didn’t feel as great if I was a touch heavy which the cobra’s rails really seem to help with. still, I think it might be worth experimenting with a used one or even give the TS3 a shot as I held the TSi3 and the shape was actually pretty good looking to me. also hit the Epic Max LS again. I just love the feel. But I don’t like the stock shaft offerings which makes it hard to tell about a fit. Might be time to book a real fitting and see how it stacks up. rolled a few putts with the ER5B as I’ve always been a fan of that shape but tend to stay with blade shapes. The new cobra putters are legit too, as is PINGs 2021 lineup. Not in the market for a putter, but for those that are there are so many good options.
  25. Haha that’s too funny. we’re practically neighbors! If you’re ever out here or I’m ever out there we can have a Bellingham challenge!
